All you have to do, is look at the photo of Billy, and compare his ears to Brushy Bill's. NO MATCH. The kid had prominent earlobes and Brushy did not. Unless he had plastic surgery to remove his lobes, Brushy Bill was just a sad old man, grasping for fame. He was NOT Billy the Kid.

For all we know, Bushy Bill knew that if he made his claim to enough people, even under the guise of secrecy, eventually someone would not keep it secret. Come on guys, it’s good to have faith and we are all free to believe what we want, but let’s be clear about the fact that he was NOT BTK and would have went to any lengths to convince others that he was. BTW, there were also many claiming to be the murdered Czar's surviving "daughter" (and heir) and one was famous for having a lot of the Palace details and intimate knowledge of family members. But those ones too, like Brushy's details, would have been known to the many people around the Czar's inner circles and even more by servants. Same for all those that knew the real William Bonney, many more would have heard from each one, as Brushy must have done from his untold source. Anyway... Back to the topic at hand. Ever since seeing the Young Guns movies, I've had questions about the legitimacy about the "facts" surrounding the Kid's death and, while getting a Bachelor's in History, I studied it more... And then stumbling onto this video made me a) question the story even more and b) made me even more certain that Brushy Bill was the Kid. They need to check the DNA of Brushy Bill, the body in the Kids grave and anyone that is a direct decendant of the Kid. That will clear up things but I doubt they'll allow that because it will make a lot of people look REALLY stupid... Pat Garrett and Lou Wallace to name a few.

I believe a DNA test was pushed on the body thought to be Billy the Kid , or one was done I can't remember?? I 100 💯 percent believe and so did Emilio that Brushy was The Kid not to mention Pat and the Kid were at one friend's or road together, Pat got a ton of money at the time , Frank Jesse and the Kid had met at one time along with other outlaws who had Masonic Master Mason friend's in extremely high places who were tied to the KGC sort of CIA of the south side of the Civil War and the rabbit hole gets way way deeper..their was definitely more to this than I believe we are able to understand, some of their friends were known family members of the pirate Jean Lafitte also a Master Mason..im kinda getting off the path anyways someone did carve the world Pals into the head stone and I believe it was a message

    • @mikec6678
      @mikec6678 2 года назад +5

@@GolfRemoEchoGolf2 As per the last point you just made regarding the word Pals being etched on the headstone... There was only one person that would have done that (everyone else was dead according to history) and only one person that there's no 100% proof of his death and that's the Kid. Like I said in my initial post, there's just way too much evidence indicating that Brushy Bill was the Kid and not enough evidence proving that Pat Garrett shot him in 1881 other than word of mouth. For all we know, and it's becoming more and more obvious, Pat Garrett and Governor Wallace conspired together and put out the story that Garrett killed the Kid just to cover their asses. If the public knew they killed the wrong man, they would look really stupid and lose all their credibility with New Mexicans and possibly the rest of the U.S. inhabitants. They couldn't afford that to happen

I lived in an empty part of New Mexico in 1975 and a very old man came to do some work on the trailer I was renting. We got to talking about pistols and he claimed his father knew Billy the Kid, and Billy wasn't killed by Pat Garrett, and instead lived to be an old man and his father's friend. He said his father grew up working on ranches and when they would go out to herd cattle they were all given lots of ammunition and when they came back, they were expected to have fired it all practicing, as they were the police, the soldiers, the protectors of the ranch from all forms of predators. He said he only saw his father shoot one time and that was on the 4th of July when his dad had a few drinks. He had the kids throw a can up in the air and he shot it. The interesting part is he said his dad never took the pistol out of the soft leather holster but instead bent the holster to fire the gun and hit the can in the air and several times on the ground. I never heard of that but I believed him because he didn't care if I believed him or not. He was just telling me.

This is a fun video. Ever since the movie "Young Guns" came out and they talk about an old guy coming out of the desert claiming to be Billy....fascinating. Now a couple of points I would like to make. 1. Brushy Bill was not parading about looking for media attention trying to pass himself off as Billy. It looks to me like he was living a quiet life where nobody knew who he was until an investigator contacted him and tried to dig up his past, then stuff started to happen. Seems to me if he was looking for media attention he would have been banging that drum a long time ago. 2. DNA test could prove all this. Just dig up Brushy Bill, get a finger bone....maybe some nail clippings...a tooth. Then get a DNA sample from the closest living relative of Billy The Kid.....then look how close the match is. Bam! case closed.

If there are still living relatives you would need their say so, if there are any relatives alive that remember him they might not want his corpse desecrated which is fair enough I guess. Still might be worth looking into though, would be nice to get confirmation if this lead is correct or not

I believe this story to be true, I’ve been a fan of Billy the kids since I was a little boy, even the documentary they do with him standing on a rock next to each Antelman they do a body analysis comparison to tintype to the man standing on the rock. I thought it was very funny it went to such extremes to show the difference in comparison is that this is actually the same man. To me it was easy to tell it was the same man! It was a real easy giveaway the man standing on the rock was wearing the same hat as the man in a tin type photograph same exact hat as a projected one picture onto the other you can see all the silver medallion on my heart and actually the same height. It’s like people today wearing a baseball hat and men wear is basically the same baseball hat every day, or in the 1920s the gangsters usually wear the same hat. We also have to remember people did not have the money back them to just have a multiple sets of hats like people do today people were poor background it’s so obvious that Billy the kid lived, and it was a cover-up so obvious that Pat Garrett and him we’re friends to both or cowboys cowboys or gentlemen that moved cattle across the country. If you watch TV shows you can hear the yipping in the screaming with the cattle in reality if you did that the cattle would run in a stampede. How do you see cowboys with their mascon that was to keep the dust out of their eyes from the cattle moving when you move cattle you’re very quiet because this latest sound will Make them stampede. Billy has a child spent a lot of time in New Mexico he had a set of spurs most cowboys did not have them he was taught by the Mexicans how to ride horses the reason for spurs was not hurt the Horse reason for the Spurs that the Mexican used was to give them a little nudge to make them move with the cattle because it was a slow process Billy had a beautiful set of spurs beat out a silver a gentleman in New Mexico gave him when he was a teenager when he went out on his own to make money run in cattle. This is before the war between the beef herders. Lincoln county was nothing but a bunch of businessman fighting over beef this is why Billy the kid became famous for no other reason all over money and greed for all the beef that came from down in Texas and had to come up north. Got a remember you couldn’t mix New England cows with Texas cows most of them would die because of ticks they dropped like flies because they could not handle the change the Texas cattle go through though long grass on the Rangers or through the woods and get bitten by a nymph tick causing them to havelime disease. This is why cattle rustling started this is why they stopped moving cattle with people who started moving cattle on trains later on there is a lot of money to be made and cattle at that point and everybody was crooked just like they are today. Money is the root of all evil and always will be you can believe me or not I don’t care. This is just my opinion

Agreed. Brushy may or may not have been Billy, but people keep getting hung up on the date of birth differences between them like it eliminates or disproves his claim. They forget that identity theft participants are not concerned with the year someone was born. Even today a 30 year old could assume a 50 year olds identity and it happens all the time. And no one would know the difference unless someone actually knew the person whose identity was stolen.

Some East Coast "penny dreadfuls" were writing lurid tales of his supposed escapades. His brothers were giving him the hoorah about that and said he was going to be as famous as their neighbor, Billy the Kid. That was written about by another family member. Wabbit In Red Sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade and while I can see the old Brushy's resemblance to his young, at first glance I agree, it doesn't look like the Kid. But then.....if only young Brushy had opened his mouth...and squinted his eyes in the bright sunlight.....again look at the broad gently ached brows, the sticky ears, the shape of the nose and the proportion of chin. Also one if his girl friends mentioned thick lips - the known Kid tintype doesn't even show that so would you say that's not the Kid?; while young Brushy does have a healthy amount of lip, maybe hiding prominent front teeth? Pictures are deceiving - many (idiots) today still cite Paul McCartney's various photographic differences as proof he's an imposter after 1966 and yet even post '66 photos have many differences in say....nose shape and eyes. So I don't know either but I can't discount it. What we need to do is superimpose parts of each photo such as the hat and the mouth on the other, maybe the eyes too and see how they compare.

In other words instant recognition as a whole person not 'Hmmm yeah the eyes match so I guess it's you'. But thats a 2nd hand report and could be out of context. Brushy seemed to consort with many old Kid gang and LCWar associates - that'd be some conspiracy for them all to agree with an imposter, You'd think someone would've spilled the beans.

      That's not entirely true.
The authorities just don't want to spend the money and put legal roadblocks to resolving a lot of identity cases.
There's a lot of inconvenient history out there and the authorities would just as soon save the money and keep the "official, approved history" on the books to keep headaches at bay.
Contrary to popular belief, none of the major sciences (history, biology, astronomy, etc.) like rewriting their books. Academics like familiarity -- that's why new discoveries and correcting errors is not a huge desire for the mainstream. It is difficult for these people to admit when they're wrong and they're not as open-minded as you think. There is also the fact that federal money is involved with a lot of academic programs and the Feds DO NOT like things that shake up the establishment. They want to preserve their status quo as it is. Challenging the status quo and being a headache to the Feds can lose major academic programs millions of dollars in grants.
      ..
Descendants of infamous persons can get orders to exhume graves to examine remains and get DNA samples to compare against descendants but over half the time the authorities block this. Even if you independently raised money to pay for DNA testing, a judge or politician can put pressure to block a serious investigation.
      It's been done multiple times.
A lot of this happens because of past dirty politics by the government. It's decades later but the establishment want to avoid getting eggs in its face and won't admit to sloppy investigations. The alphabet agencies do not like being presented as crooked and incompetent with investigators who missed key evidence or nabbed the wrong guy. Why do you suppose they block FOIA requests and heavily censor "released documents"?

If Billy Barlow was a cousin of John Wesley Harden it would explain the reason for Killin Jim Miller wanting Pat Garrett dead as he was also related to the Hardens. Miller also killed Isaac 'Con' Conrad Gibson who was a friend of Pat Garrett. They were neighbors in Uvalde, Texas. Isaac was my great grandfather and my grandmother told many stories that she remembered as did her brother and sister. Her brother was Jim Gibson who died in Divine, Texas in 1970 and was a Texas Ranger. Uncle Jim cursed the name of Miller who once became a Ranger himself. Isaac's wife vowed vengeance for her husband's death and were sickened by Miller's convictions being overturned. Some of their relatives were in Oklahoma and among those who lynched Miller. There's more to tell that could link Brushy Bill but also could just be coincidence. Small town politics were and still are corrupt as hell. Look no further than the city of Midland and the 310 convictions recently thrown out over a corrupt DA and Judge.

In the pictures, the nose and the ears are really similar. But one thing that really convinced me was that back in those days, if a lawman caught a fugitive, and killed him, it was customary to bring the dead fugitive to town, put him in a coffin, then take pictures. Garrett was said to have a big ego, so if he shot Billy the Kid, why didn't he bring the body back to town and take pictures??? That fact alone says alot!!!

Henry McCarty, Williams H Bonney, aka Billy the Kid was shot and killed by Pat Garrett in Ft Sumner, Maxwell Ranch, New Mexico on Friday night 7/15/1881 at approx 12:30AM in Peter Maxwell's bedroom.. The body was placed out for several hours for public view in front of Billy Smith's saloon. Dozens saw the body and no one disputed the that it was Billy.
There was no photographer available nor a doctor to pronounce death. Billy was prepared for burial in the normal way and buried. And thats the story

The governor did not belive him when he said he was Billy so no problem. He did not dare to tell that...he could have got in to jail for murder so he kept that part out of the story. The 1 thing that stands out to me, Garrett was on a last chance from his higher ups from failing to capture Billy. He was a known con man and a screw up. If he admitted to killing an innocent man in cold blood, he probably would have been hanged, so I feel it's entirely plausible that if garret killed Barlow he would do everything in his power to cover it up. Couple that with Billy supposedly being buried the falling morning with no confirmation on the body aside from Garrett in a dimly lit ranch house room at 3AM and his own deputy said it was the wrong man instead of parading the body of new Mexico's public enemy number 1 and normally marshals and bounty hunters would have to present the body to the highest ranking official(the body of jesse james was displayed and open to the public after it was confirmed to be jesse) to be paid. All I'm saying is that the circumstances of the whole garret story are suspect enough and outside the normal means of operation to warrant reasonable doubt. Do I think brushy was Billy? Well there's a damn good chance he was. The facial structure lines up decently and there's doubt for Garrett's acount.

They did a computer analysis between 2 photos of 2 individuals thought to be John Wilkes Booth. These were photos taken decades apart. One in the late 1850s or circa the Lincoln assassination of the authenticated historical JWB, the other 15-20 years later of a man under an assumed identity.
The computer program compared major facial landmarks.
      The photos matched 98%!
No, on its own this does NOT prove the men in the two photos ARE both JWB but you'd be a fool and bad investigator not to do more forensic investigation.
The only thing is that the Feds are blocking exhumation of the alleged JWB burial site (if anyone knows where the remains are bured) or comparison of authenticized Booth DNA (from a living ancestor of Edwin Booth or Edwin Booth's remains) with the spine tissue they removed from the fugitive declared as JWB that they gunned down at a burning Virginia barn. The majority of the living Booth family WANTS this investigation to be done!
At the very least, they could use the same computer program to compare the authentic Billy the Kid photo with the gentleman alleged to be the elderly Billy. A high degree of probability of match, again, should be something to spur more action.
The authorities just do not like to see history rewritten in a light that makes them look like incompetent, lazy fools!
