I love this interview with Tom. I love his work and am a big fan of Thomas Fluharty. The blue pencil work he has done lately is so great. I bought his book and then when he had a contest to win his sketch of the Grinch in the blue pencil, I just had to have it . I sent a picture of myself with his book and long story short I won the sketch. Great interview as always with Tom.

Gosh the comment section is harsh this week what is up with that? Thanks for making another incredible video! I love seeing the working process during these videos, of course it is also amazing to see the process of guests if they have time to do something but that's just a nice bonus for a change of pace, this works great as it is and also gives insights into hat even amazingly experienced artists like Bobby Chiu can gain from these courses! Also seriously the promo is mentioned everywhere all the time I think the overwhelming majority of subscribers caught it :) Thanks once again!

Your channel has been the most helpful thing for a self-taught artist like me, I've been blessed to have so many mentors and I aspire to be a great artist who inspires millions of people along the way.

    Hey Bobby!
Ultimately you’ve interviewed people who are dealing with the parenthood and art craft sides, and to that I just can say… it’s quite amazing!! :D
This time, I totally loved the responses of Jonathan and Tom in the last part, they sounded very mature to me in how they manage their time such as giving the right weight to things in their lives. From my side, they give us hope to other alike artists who are seeking similar patterns of success.
By the way, I really enjoy your streams, specially those like this when you show us the full process of your stunning art pieces. I always take away something from them, besides it’s delightful watching you doing your stuff while listen to these compelling audios.
Thanks for sharing this cool and useful material with the world!
    Blessings!!

Hi Bobby! Thank you for uploading so many of these interviews every week! I love watching and listening while doing my art assignments. I really like the topics and the questions that you and Jon post to the guest artists. Thanks for making knowledge accessible for people all around the world, especially for those who haven't had the luck to be in a country with a rich digital art industry

Style does just come out. I find the more pieces I do, the more my style naturally develops as a result. I can take an influence and a technique and apply it. But it is always filtered through a process that is inevitabley mine. My likes, dislikes and my skills shape it into something that reflects me.

    • @BobbyChiu
      @BobbyChiu  3 года назад +2

For sure!! Style can easily develop through practice, even if you're not intentionally trying to find your unique style. It just happens! Thanks for sharing that :)

that's odd... can you please email info@schoolism.com and they can help you with that. In the meantime, try using a different browser... does it work when you use a different browser? That will help to determine the problem you're having.

Drew until I got carpal tunnel syndrome in my right arm :( now I’m drawing with my left arm and steadily progressing. Knowing how to study is better than ruining your arm with short term. Use your arms wisely!

This video is extremely helpful ! I'm currently taking the self-taught Digital Painting class on Schoolism
    www.schoolism.com/school.php?id=1
which must be the best learning I have ever had (it is crazy how much it teaches, and in the most engaging, almost addicting, way). Being able to follow along videos like this one adds a lot to the learning. Thanks so much for all, professor :) !

Thank you Bobby, all done. I took digital painting class with you in 2008 while I was in a crappy university and it changed the way I painted up until this day. I'm on expressive characters lesson now, its great you have reduced the price so I can take one of your fantastic courses again.I was lucky in 2008 to have a grant from university to pay for the course with you :D

Great promo but why are you mentioning it at minute 54 for the first time? i sometimes don't even get to the end of these videos and would have missed that. Also why don't current students get the promo when they see the banner all day on the schoolisum site? I will just unsub re sub or make a new account for the promo. I am currently a student. Excellent video.

    • @miketurner9906

Also you should have made promo video on youtube to promote the promo in the beginning of the event.like a 2 min video.
your 70 000 viewer base might not even ever know about the promo.

I was hoping that Thomas could supply the video of himself painting but he didn't have time. Usually people don't have time so I put a video of me painting so you don't watch a blank video. If you don't want to see me painting then you might prefer the podcast version. No visuals.
