I am finding this to be the most well put together video series on pastels and what a beginner or even a more seasoned pastelist need to know before purchasing and spending their money on these costly supplies!! I really recommend that you purchase half sticks of the more expensive brands before going all out as they do cost! Oh "Kay o Lynn" is how you say that name of that clay if your interested. Please take care of yourself as making yourself sick just to post videos is not a good thing for anyone to do. I will be looking forward to your next offering and believe you will continue to be wonderful! Keep it going and remember to be safe out there!

WOW Michael, thank you so much for that lovely compliment! It means so much to me, since I spent 6 weeks researching and collecting as much information as possible, I'm glad my hard work is really paying off and helping other artists. That's all I wish to do, help beginners and seasoned artists, as you said have all the information they need without having to spend as much time doing research or being confused or overwhelmed by all the options out there. Yes, I am always interested in pronouncing things correctly, I am not good at that LOL. So thank you for telling me

@@watercolorgypsyartandwelln9766 I only have 2 videos on my channel and one is by my nephew for a school project as his mom did not want him to have his own account so he used mine. The other video is about pain management and how I deal with it these days, you might take a look if your interested. I have almost eliminated my arthritic joint pain and my back pain is so reduced that I have times of no pain at all! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too.

Thanks for including Conte crayons because they are gorgeous even if they aren't a soft pastel strictly speaking.

Pan pastel was likely included as it’s so often used for underpainting - similarity of purpose rather than texture.

"I have ordered myself… I wasn't gonna do this, but…" famous words of every pastelist! 🤣🙄❤️

I was going to say, I didn't start with Rembrandts, but then I remembered I did -- I got a set of 5 and hated them :)
Hope you are doing ok, nobody was doing anything in depth on pastel products like you were.

Another great video. Thank you! I found the best prices for pastels by the imported makers such as Schmincke, Sennelier and Rembrandt, even Art Spectrums can be found at Jacksons. Their prices are sometimes half of the prices found in the U.S online stores. For example, a Rembrandt and Art Spectrum open stock is about 2.50. Part of that is because the Value Added Tax (VAT) charged for European customers is removed for customers form the U.S. And shipping is either free or almost free anyway. I am not trying to advertise Jacksons, but their prices are really good. I also recommend trying the Koh-I-Noor Extra soft pastels (not plain soft pastels), made in Czech Republic. They come in a maximum range of 48 colors, and not sold open stock, but are wonderful pastels. Very affordable, and quality-wise comparable to Schmincke!

Thanks for commenting with this added info for others to see! I also prefer to order from Jackson's for the same reason, but I do get good prices from Dakota Pastels for being an art supply reviewer. They don't sponsor me, but I get a good discount from them, and always free shipping. They also frequently have great sales, right now I think pastelmat is on sale. I ordered a bunch of sheets for myself, and for someone who is making me a custom pastel journal, one with UArt, and one with pastelmat. She put glassine in between each page to protect the work too. I will be doing that reveal and review when I get both journals in like a week or so, also when we are done with this series. I wanted to release videos more frequently, but I have been tied up with Christmas commissions. Thanks so much for watching

    Hi Jackie,
This series is one of the best series on pastel selection, m so blessed to see it.
Initially I thought I knew what I should perhaps know about pastels, after watching the series, m like there's still a room for improvement.
Being a very rare style only big brands like Rembrandt, sennelier and unison and mungyo sell in india, any shipment from abroad will have heavy customs imposed so the margin for selection is indeed very small. But I think working on skill is more important, pan pastels are not available in india (my life's quite sadistic 😂). I making progress in pastels quite a lot, with limited as well as landscape palette. Moreover, I made a painting, it turned out so awesome that I framed it and m going to send a pic of it hanging on the wall to Susan ☺️.
Engineering studies are going well, m spending 8-9hrs ryt now but soon I'll make it 14 hrs a day.(I aced my previous exam).
I heard covid19 is raging in states, u please take care of the self and family
    And do take medicine.😊
    Keep posting more 😊
    Love from India ❤️

@@watercolorgypsyartandwelln9766 aww Jackie, auto- immune is a dangerous disease, in the long run problems related to other bodily functions can arise if one doesn't have a proper and heavy healthy diet. U better stay at home, because when I got fever this year (wasn't covid19) I experienced spine stinging pain. I went just a day out and came back with fever, sometimes life can be quite harsh.
I'm ready for the next video, but before that promise me, you'll take care of yourself. Focus on fruits, veges, fish and healthy fats for sometime and take proper medication.
As far as ordering is concerned, as you know I have 525 set I currently don't need anything, but in future if any time I'd like to contact to you, it'll give me a way to do so, whether it's about ordering pastel and accessories or paintings, ryt?.🙂
      Keep posting more 😊
      Love from India ❤️
