Is that genuine footage of Barkley's swing, from another show or something? He's a smart, funny and caring guy - and a solid athlete (usually) - but damn! He really doesn't get the feels from golf, does he?
That is indeed real footage of his golf swing! He knows it's bad so he himself picks fun at it like with the cake, door and burger flipping, lol! During the actual Haney Project, Charles actually showed signs of being able to do swings without the pause and thrust. Hank was absolutely sure it was a swing fault because when he would dip down, he would have to compensate by moving back up then swinging, hence the pause. I'm not so sure about that though. He could start a round not doing it at all, then once he'd do the bad swing, he would get stuck in the cycle of continually doing it for the rest of the round. Like some sort of reflex or mental block. Which sounds more like it as he used to be a 10-handicap golfer, now he can't break 100. Charles stated that he thinks it started when he tried too hard to get better and developed nerves.
@ Beux J It is actually true. Barkley used to actually be very good at golf, but seemingly overnight he couldn't swing no more. By his own admission he CAN swing if there is no ball. If you place the ball, then what you saw in that footage happens to him. It is very odd.
Apparently this is the only sketch written by Hannibal Buress that ever made it on the air during the time he was a writer there.
