  • #sponsored : In this video we'll walk through the process of how to build a shed loft, shed shelves, tool storage, a work area, and shed rafters. We'll transform a shed from an unorganized mess to a shed with all sorts of organization so you'll know where every tool is and will have plenty of space for all your stuff. This video is sponsored by Cub Cadet. DIY Pete, LLC has been compensated and provided with the product free of charge in return for their honest opinion. The Cub Cadet Ultima Series ZT1 mower with a 54 inch wide deck is what I use to take care of my yard and it works great.

You’re telling me! I chose to clad my shed with pallet wood. Couldn’t justify the cost of plywood. Probably will replace it all eventually.

I used a lot of your suggestions for my 12x32 shed... I built the loft on the back. My ceilings are 10' so I was able to make my loft 6'. My 2' benches go across the back and wrap around the sides 20'... leaving the middle 8' and the front 10x12 open for working on projects!

Awesome! So many great ideas. I appreciate your descriptions while assembling. I’ve been looking for storage ideas for my garage.
Also my son in law has a great idea for his snowmobile, he built 3 boards with wheels using 2x4’s and left gaps for his skis to fit into. Makes it easier to maneuver the sled in the garage.

Nice vid - I appreciate that you emphasized just keeping it simple and using scrap. No need to go out and buy fancy hanger systems.
My last garage was all exposed 2x4 and 2x6 studded walls - add a few horizontal furring strips and those cavities are beyond useful for stashing metal bar stock, garden tools, all kinds of misc stuff. If I ever build another garage it will be tough to cover the walls!

Thanks! Very good. Great location there. My shed is only 12 x10 but have installed 12ft x30inch shelf from OSB and 2x3's, lag bolts, with enough room for lawn tractor underneath. Will add adjoining 18in wide shelf+l build tire racks from 2x4's. Gotta plug small gaps to keep mice out!

Great stuff. Nice and simple and cheap.
Since I love to complicate projects...I like painting the tops of shelves before I install so that they are easy to clean. A decent primer sprayed on (via electric sprayer) outside is the easiest way before they are installed.

Nice job! I have two small suggestions to make life easier. First add a plywood backsplash to your work bench to keep things from rolling off in the back. Second put your snowmobile on dollies/skates to move it in and out easier. Just my two cents, nonetheless it looks great!

That was awesome..I just had a one car garage built for storage...same size as your shed 12 x 24...you had great ideas to save a bunch of money on brackets for tools.

Great add would be a 4X8 sheet of peg board above your bench to hang a few essentials. Love the space and the view!
