- #sponsored : In this video we'll walk through the process of how to build a shed loft, shed shelves, tool storage, a work area, and shed rafters. We'll transform a shed from an unorganized mess to a shed with all sorts of organization so you'll know where every tool is and will have plenty of space for all your stuff. This video is sponsored by Cub Cadet. DIY Pete, LLC has been compensated and provided with the product free of charge in return for their honest opinion. The Cub Cadet Ultima Series ZT1 mower with a 54 inch wide deck is what I use to take care of my yard and it works great.

Ahhh, the good old days when boards were cheap! Nice job.
You’re telling me! I chose to clad my shed with pallet wood. Couldn’t justify the cost of plywood. Probably will replace it all eventually.
Found this June 2022. Your comment still applies. 😩
Yes. So were first dates, remember?
No housing equals cheap wood don't know where you're at stuff went from $11 a piece down to $2.16 so not sure what you're talking about but they get your head out of your ass Woody's cheap Powell nobody's building houses anymore
I really like the boards on either side of the stud for hanging tools with handles (9:12). What a great idea! Thanks Pete! Cheers from PA.
Hope all is well in PA Jeff! Take care man!
Montana is looking nice right now!!! Great project, Pete
Thanks Brad! Hope all is well in Nashville man!
You saved me a ton of mistakes. Thanks. The double jack stud loft was my favorite.
Will increase my square footage more than 33%
Great to hear, good luck getting your she all organized!
I used a lot of your suggestions for my 12x32 shed... I built the loft on the back. My ceilings are 10' so I was able to make my loft 6'. My 2' benches go across the back and wrap around the sides 20'... leaving the middle 8' and the front 10x12 open for working on projects!
Took me ten minutes just to get past the view, I cant imagine looking out my back window with a view of mountains. Beautiful !!
Thanks for watching!
Yeah I’d get nothing done. Just end up standing on the lawn gazing 😂
Thank you sir! I have seen many shelves built but not a floating deck, great idea on slapping two long boards to make own beam!!! My shed is smaller area, but 12ft tall!!
Great video Pete!! I had recently bought a 12x24 shed also and your video inspired me to do the exact same. Came out Great!! The only thing I did different was put a peg board above the table turned out great!!!
Great video! I made the loft and the workbench for our new shed. It took the better part of the day, but a lot of it was going back and forth to Home Depot. I never plan accordingly. Thanks for the simple design.
Hands down best orgaizing video on the web. Just the simplicity, cost effectiveness, you literally destroyed that shed. Man im amazed by this video literally and im OCD so i have watched thousands of these. Great video and thank you i think i have a shed to go and organize now
Thanks so much Travis!
Awesome! So many great ideas. I appreciate your descriptions while assembling. I’ve been looking for storage ideas for my garage.
Also my son in law has a great idea for his snowmobile, he built 3 boards with wheels using 2x4’s and left gaps for his skis to fit into. Makes it easier to maneuver the sled in the garage.
You gave me ideas for 10x12 shed and my garage!! Great work!!
Wow, gr8 shed organization design. Alot of storage space 4 all yur stuff & vehicles. Very basic & innovative. Thx 4 sharing on the internet.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tips, great ideas. Well presented, makes me think I can do it too. First I’ll need a shed, just sold our old place with a 16 by 10 shed... thanks again, appreciate the effort
This video makes me want to declutter my shed and reorganize everything. What a great tutorial! Thank you for the awesome ideas! Sincerely from Cataula, Georgia!
Thanks Jennifer, good luck with the organizing!
Nice vid - I appreciate that you emphasized just keeping it simple and using scrap. No need to go out and buy fancy hanger systems.
My last garage was all exposed 2x4 and 2x6 studded walls - add a few horizontal furring strips and those cavities are beyond useful for stashing metal bar stock, garden tools, all kinds of misc stuff. If I ever build another garage it will be tough to cover the walls!
Thank for all your feedback and that's great to hear you were able to make such great use out of your garage. Cheers!
Great project, thanks for sharing. It’s amazing of much extra space the rafters add!
Thanks so much! Yeah those rafters ended up being a great way to maximize space. A couple subscribers recommended it and I'm so glad they did!
Glad I found this. I just started building a loft and shelves but now I see a few changes I should make.
Great to hear!
This gave me some good ideas for my shed. I really like how you added 2x4's to hold your hand tools and create shelves inside the studs. Pretty clever. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
out of all the videos this is the one that helped me the most. Thank you., I have been a homeowner for 4 years and know absolutely nothing about wood and such. still learning. I dont have a wood saw to make 45 degree cuts but ill figure it out
Great to hear, best of luck!
Thanks! Very good. Great location there. My shed is only 12 x10 but have installed 12ft x30inch shelf from OSB and 2x3's, lag bolts, with enough room for lawn tractor underneath. Will add adjoining 18in wide shelf+l build tire racks from 2x4's. Gotta plug small gaps to keep mice out!
Nice work !
Great video! I'll be using some of these in my shop remodel. Only thing I would have done extra is recess the osb and plywood decking on your shelves into the space between the studs. Still the upgrade made a huge difference.
Thanks Landon! And great idea on recessing the plywood, cheers!
Pete, I just finished copying your ideas for my shed on a smaller scale. I have almost 0 skills as a carpenter but you made it easy to follow and copy. It came out great and I have so much more room now. I can now move some small yard machines into the shed from the garage. Thanks for a great video from the Hudson Valley, NY. Subscribed!
Great to hear Rune! Thank you for subscribing too, stay safe and healthy out there in Hudson Valley! Cheers
Love this video, I watch it over and over again and keep building and adding stuff to my shed. Thanks for sharing this, these tips were priceless to me. 😃❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Great job! I did my shed 3 years ago and ive never enjoyed it more. Thanks for the great video
Great to hear!
Wonderful timing, I'm getting a 12x24 shed delivered in a few days and will steal many of your ideas. I also have an Ultima ZT2 50" and love the results. I'm saving this video to watch again later.
Great to hear the Cub Cadet is working great for you! And how exciting to have a 12x24 shed on the way! We'll pretty much have the exact same setups :) Cheers!
Great video brother. Now it’s time for me to organize the garage
Awesome! Good luck!
Looks great! The view of the mountains is great!
Thanks!
I now know what I will be doing this weekend, I will be copying some of your projects for my shed thanks for taking the time to share this one with us it may have been trivial to you at the time but this one helped me considerably.
Play Safe From Elliot Lake Ontario Canada.
Great to hear Scott! Hope things are well up in Ontario. Cheers!
Great stuff. Nice and simple and cheap.
Since I love to complicate projects...I like painting the tops of shelves before I install so that they are easy to clean. A decent primer sprayed on (via electric sprayer) outside is the easiest way before they are installed.
Thanks for the feedback!
That is one of the nicest organize sheds I have seen. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Nice vid Pete!!
To the point and explicit enough to understand what your plan was without watching a 2 hr vid!! 👍🏻
Nice place you have man!!
Thanks so much! I try to make the videos efficient so I don't waste your time :) Cheers!
Nice job! I have two small suggestions to make life easier. First add a plywood backsplash to your work bench to keep things from rolling off in the back. Second put your snowmobile on dollies/skates to move it in and out easier. Just my two cents, nonetheless it looks great!
Thanks!
Been working on organizing our 900sf shop, but this next week we jump into our lawn shed for some organization. Going to use these methods for ours. Simple, fast, effective
Awesome Justin, good luck!
Bravo. Planning on putting up a shed this spring. Great inspiration for storage. Thanks Pete!

Awesome to hear!
You’ve got nice scenery in the background with the mountain up ahead 👍
Thanks!
I concur! I had to rewind and rewatch just to look at the scenery and lost concentration of my original interest, being from Montana (now residing in Seattle) I instinctively sensed a familiarity about the background scenery, are you near Bozeman curiously Pete?

That was awesome..I just had a one car garage built for storage...same size as your shed 12 x 24...you had great ideas to save a bunch of money on brackets for tools.
Great to hear!
Great add would be a 4X8 sheet of peg board above your bench to hang a few essentials. Love the space and the view!
Thanks!
