Stunning! I would love to see an Photoshop editing course by you - these edits are stunning and very natural looking which, as we all know, is so difficult to achieve.
You've convinced me to give LED another try for my creative portraits. These are wonderful, but that is no surprise considering who the photographer is. Thank you for another wonderful video.
Your work is, of course, amazingly beautiful as always, but the best thing about all of this is your incredible coaching! This is a masterclass in providing feedback and instruction. Every portrait photographer should watch this! ❤😎
As we see, the reactions to Irene's "oh so euro-polite" coaching and emoting are spot on. The ease of use of these small lights and the color and even-ness of their output is superb. I love Irene's tutorials. Just like how she knows how she wants her models, she knows what she wants her viewers to learn and appreciate.
I just bought one of these a few weeks ago and it was AMAZING for the video interviews we did... the light was incredible and I was SO SHOCKED about how much power and control I had. The Fact that it on my C-Stand without any fuss and was so easy to balance made for moving the light in many different ways that you could not do with a bigger LED system and a LOT of sand bags. This was so extremely portable and the carrying case was beautifully thought out and designed. I am thinking of getting another one of these and finding a gel solution to really punch up creativity. *I can HIGHLY recommend the Zhiyun Molus G200, it is amazing!*
these photos are stunning! the editing is amazing as well, and I can't get over the fact that she basically said "your fingers are way too long, let me fix that" at 19:56... this has me crying
Hi Irene, great vidéo i love it. Quick question, i see you are using f2.8 because of a low iso and the low power of led light. How do acheive for focus so both figure are sharp? Thanks and great work with all respect.
These are on a whole new level! I always love your outdoor portraits the best, but if you have to shoot indoors - THIS! Beautiful, the way you guided to models to absolute perfection in posing and the flow of the compositions in these are brilliant. My absolute favorite shots are @ 21:29 and 21:56 ! Bravo!
You are influential. Last Thursday I bought an R8 and a Canon R 85mm f/2, partly because of your video comparison. And partly because Fro - Jared Polin - said on his channel that he took an R8 to Paris. If an R8 is good enough for you and Fro, it's good enough for me. __BAK__

Irene, this video and the result are so inspiring! Editing tutorial will definitely be beneficial, how you did hand substitute in Photoshop was a very useful tip :) Also would be interesting to know how you approach coloring in postproduction. Again, absolutely beautiful work 😍
This is my first time commenting and I have to say I am in awe. I've been in a bit of a creative rut and while it almost makes me feel like a failure as a photographer, it's also giving me ideas for a shoot. Thank you
So... serious question... do you really think you will turn your back on strobes at this point in time? I do event work, and when I use strobes its generally to balance with ambient light, my AD200's are quite often at a lowish power. When you factor in some LED's are so soft that they are not requiring softboxes, that they have temperature control (goodbye gels!), and that with MILC systems you get a preview before you take the shot... there's a not to like. I find it quite funny actually to be back in a 'DSLR' experience when shooting with my MILCs and strobes because I once again have to chimp to check exposures. Oh... and AF systems prefer LEDs to finding critical focus, quite important when killing a lot of ambient light. So... will you genuinely port fully across to constant light for your future shoots?
Your photos come out absolutely beautiful!! And I agree constant light can be used for both photo and video is reason enough, I have bunch of strobe monolights that have been collecting dusts since I got them constant lights. The only time I use the strobe monolights these days is when a photoshoot really need that burst to over power the sun, or freeze motion.
I am sorry fo a very irrelevant question, but my memory won't stop bugging me. I remember a while ago watching a video (I believe it was Irene's) where in the end (or not only) there was a photoshoot in this gorgeous scene with water lily pond and mist/fog and a model in a long (probably white) dress. I can't take it off my mind but also can't find it 😅 if you know what I am talking about please help me find it
More magic by Irene. Thank you for showing what wonderful stuff can be produced with not so expensive equipment, without a dedicated studio and using inexpensive accessories. LED lights will only get cheaper as time goes by. EDIT: I think the exact time @19:41 with some kind of Rembrandt lighting with her eyes open would have been very interesting. Maybe for a next shoot? or @19:46?
These are so beautiful, amazed by the results of the canon RP and the 50mm lens. Do you have a tutorial showing how you edited this images? as an aspiring retoucher , i would love to see it. Again these are absolutely stunning!
The disadvantage of LED light is that the models have smaller pupils. In low setting light and sudden flash, the pupils are wide open. Place 2 of the same photos next to each other, 1 with LED and 1 with flash. In 100% of the cases, the public opts for a photo with flash. They can't say why. But that is because the pupils are open and large pupils are associated with sympathy/affection and small pupils with fear, pain and rejection.
@@arthorse6835 If you take the photos for a medical purpose, you are certainly right. Or a photo that should radiate pain. Is it for an advertising campaign or does the person in the photo want to appear nice, you are wrong.

The pupillary issue has been proven with sales results and psychological tests.
I don't like flash either. Notice how the constant light makes the pupils of the models small. Maybe this is a good thing because you see more of the color this way?

LED is easier for photographer to use, but not for model. Imagine having a light source just continuously blasting light to your eyes for 2 hours doesn't seem comfortable.
As usual great job Irene: this is an amazing photoshoot. Thank you for giving another comprehensive view of a photo session. What century did you take us back to? 19th? 16th? This was definitely *not* the 21st century! Morgana's double "Oh... Ooooh" was worth hearing twice. 🤣 Yes, the continuous light is softer than a flash. A shutter speed of 1/200" allows micro-movements, by either the camera or the subject, to cause a little blurring. The flash duration of 1/2000" would create images with only much smaller micro-movements, creating 'crisper' images. [If anyone argues with you, please send them to me, I love the "It's physics" argument! ] Sometimes the continuous light can bother the subject's eyes. At 4:10, for example, Morgana flinches as Irene adjusts the light, shifting the angle of the softbox. Since the rest of the room is fairly dark, the contrast between the light and the room can be optically jarring for some. The typical exposure level used in this photo session [ISO 100, f/2.8, 1/250"] is close to the limit of what people would be comfortable with, perhaps one stop brighter. [Speaking for a friend...]
Thank you for this comment. One reservation I have about using LEDs in my studio would be exactly what you said--the micro-movements at slower shutter speeds. I love using LEDs when I can because of the "WYSIWYG" value of them. But you sacrifice a lot of power, and compensating for that loss with camera settings can compromise image quality. I'm not saying it's a bad plan or a bad idea to use LEDs in studio--heck I'm still considering it. These are just my concerns.
