Great info as usual! Thank you. Can you do a video on updating or adding NAICS codes to your DSBS profile. Apparently updating your profile has changed & it is confusing. Your subbies need to know because updating now causes a change in your annual SAM update requirement.

New to govcon - Are businesses restricted to only applying for contracts within their NAICS code, or is it just a helpful tool to locate relevant contracts on SAM? In other words, is there any issue with making submissions for contracts outside of your NAICS code?
You can bid on contracts outside of your primary NAICS code. SAM allows you to add multiple NAICS codes in your registration. If you're bidding on a contract in a NAICS code you didn't list in SAM, I recommend that you go back in and update your SAM registration to add that NAICS code.
My small business is in the newer industry of Solar energy and it does not have a naics code yet. Can you help me?
Every contract has a NAICS code. Use the method i showed in the video to find out what NAICS code they are using for what your business does.

You want to enter your NAICS codes when you register your business in SAM because that's how you tell the government what your business does.

Log into your SAM.gov account. That's where you'll find your MPIN, and you'll also be able to reset it if need be

How do we update or add a naics code quickly?
To add a NAICS code, Update your SAM registration. You can update your SAM registration to add NAICS codes at any time. Unfortunately it's not so quick, you do have to go through the process to update your SAM registration.
