I never owned this game, but I'd go over to a friend's house sometimes, and piss him off because I'd always beat him pretty handily, despite only having a few minutes experience with it.
Well with teleporting lag powers of yours it wouldn't be much of a fight.

My favorite part of Rage's introduction is that now the Zaibatsu fanbase is divided into Zubaz Fans and Rage fans and it's like a canon rivalry that's the fucking best.
Pat punching out Woolie is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

I think a lot of Shonen authors go for a tournament arc because they want to show all the characters fighting each other
They also do it, I suspect, to show their characters fight to the full of their potential without the cool characters fucking dying or having consequences to the fight. Either that or to have the MC level up over the course of the tourny

Placing his foot on the fallen beast's chest Pat raised both arms to the heavens and proclaimed "PRAISE THE SUN, YOU ARE ALL FREE NOW!"
Ryu wears those glove to protect the back of his hands. You'll notice in most cases the only padded part of his glove is the back of his hand which he uses to parry, his knuckles are generally exposed or just covered with some cloth from the glove but no padding so he still punches with the full impact of his hand.

Wow, that fight with Clockwork, it reminded me of the time Woolie was lying to a small child and trying to steal his pie and when Pat saw what was going on, got super pissed and got into a huge fight with Woolie.
It's that time where Pat pretends to have read One Piece, Jojo past series 3, Hunter x Hunter, or any Shounen worth a damn, I see. And it's not even the new year!

Loved this game and my reaction to it back in the day was pretty much the same. This is the first game I saw on a HD TV set up with the composite cables back in the day and it blew me away.

Its actually that most makers of Shonen anime do actually have a Beginning, Middle, and End in mind .The anime as an intellectual property might be really good. Inuyasha had a really good premise. It was fun to watch at first. Know what happened? It was popular, People really liked it. So instead of completing the show they decided "oh, we gotta keep this going somehow. Quick, throw a bunch of side bullshit in there" Eventually it became an awful mess. Years later they came back to it an aired a final season, and it was pretty good and conclusive.
Same with Bleach. Should have went, ichigo gets power> Rukia saving bullshit >Aizen betrays soul society > Beat up Aizen. Over.
Instead we get tons of episodes of nothing happening because they need filler to keep making their dirty anime money.

Zaan Schmuff The only anime put on hiatus I've heard of is Attack on Titan. Other than that, they are either stretched out or they just end.
Pat killed Woolie one time so Rage had to venture to the Woolie Hole and drop Woolie's body in so he could regain his power and be resurrected. Liam watched and said "That's kind of cool I guess."
I loved the Seanbaby quotes from that Ring King episode of Broken Pixels. That's one of my fave episodes of it.
That anime idea theory Pat blabbered about is extremely flawed ,and only truly applies to Naruto maybe. Take in consideration One Piece, the best, if not ,the best selling shonen , Oda, creator of said shonen has probably the whole story already planned , its around 700 chapters and its not even at the midpoint of its conclusion. The real problem with anime is that alot of them can be "mass-produced" because it doesnt take much these days to please weaboos, there arent enough that try to be more , then u add shitloads of fan-service and filler .

Anyway my point was, Pat tried to make it seem all shonen were and are bound to fail, my point is anime is not a genre ,shonen is a genre , anime is like movies, shonen are like action movies , your gonna have a bunch of bad (and similar) ones among good ones.
I can see Pat' theory being wrong but given what crazy shit (even for the various anime universes) happens and goes off the deep end, I can see where his theory comes from.

Whenever boxing is mentioned, I think of Frog Fractions... That part was amazing.
Fraizer and Ali fought 3 times. Frazier won the first by decision, Ali won the second by decision, and Ali won the 3rd when Fraziers corner threw in the towel after the 14th.

It's interesting to note that the first tournament arc in a manga was likely in Saint Seiya and it's actually the first arc of the series. It establishes the main characters of the series first as former friends and now rivals and then as allies and friends again which is a bit different to how it's usually used. It's actually a really good start to the series too.
Can't wait for the Fistcuff episode with this game starring the Best Friends, Rage, and Ippo.

Hell yeah, Fight Night Round 3!!
The one issue I had with Fight Night Round 4 and FNC was that they got rid of "control configuration 6" which put punches on the face buttons. I could never get used to using the analog stick to fight.
This was seriously hype. I want to see Matt make a character, train it to full-states and then have a rematch with Tiny Dervish Pat! Tiny Fighter Pat is an amazing concept and I want to see it blow up to Baz and Rage levels. I want it to be "Woolie Steals Pie" levels of canon that Pat has fists of steel! Holy fuck, so many hype boxing games!
Man these boxing matches should just be used as a metaphorical vehicle for arguments between two of the SBF

I find it kind of weird that liam is considered a full fledged member of the zaibatsu. Matt, Woolie, and Pat are always in pretty much everything but it seems like Liam is only in the podcast, episodes on Friday's, and the occasional lp.

Round 3 is definitely the best Fight Night but Champion was actually really good as well.

I have the full game and yet i prefer to play the demo because the referee cant stop the fight and we can have ilegal blows making it even funnier, also i was hoping for mat as ali performing his tauting moves, this is areally fun game, also they missed to add the physical proportions on mr black mamba in the build, nice video again guys

About Ryu's gloves - Bas Rutten once showed the difference between a boxing glove, mma glove (which Ryu pretty much has) and bare fists. The mma glove has nearly the same power efficiency as a bare fist, it just pads the knuckles is all. So you can dragon punch for longer.
Fight Night Champion is really good, it has a bare knuckle mode I hope they play it

Honestly, I preferred Fight Night Champion to this one. They're both fantastic games, but Champion to me has more character and is more inviting to play, despite being slightly more complicated.
Years ago I let a friend borrow Gta IV & he lended me Fight Night Round 3. Then his cousin stole my fucking game from him & to this day I'm stuck with this game. So thanks for the memories Best Friends!
I love that anyone that watches Ippo becomes an expert in boxing and it does it well too, unlike karuko witch tells everyone how to be bad at basket ball.
