    Yes link! Ignorance IS bliss, but it is not just. I don’t compartmentalism well so when I take in too much news it really weighs me down and activates my depression/suicidal thoughts. I wish I could consume more, I even have a degree in public and environmental affairs, but the truth is the news is depressing for myself and many. That being said, it is the right thing to do to stay educated.

    About the bees - the only time I ever got stung, I was playing hide and seek and knelt down onto the bee. I didn't know he was there, and he stung me right in the calf. That's when I found out I'm highly allergic, and I've carried an EpiPen with me since. They can be pretty scary but I'm with Link mostly, you just gotta stay calm.

    Good episode, y'all. A few points.
    • Audio books are just as much “read” as a paper book or an e-book.
    • I know that when you say you’re “tired of” your family, you don’t mean that you don’t love them or want them around. However, it’s still hard to hear because it sounds that way to someone who lives alone.
    • My irrational fears: clowns, music boxes, blowing up balloons, stepladders, being injured or dying alone, and “soft” floors.

    So during my journey within to embrace my true self, I stepped against my number one fear. Now I’ve been to Iraq in 2003, I’ve been shot at for hours and blown up by a grenade in my sleep; let me tell you, I was deathly afraid of bees. Sure....I watched my friend get gunned down by wasps long before the movie My Girl came out. But the root was how that was the only memory I had of my best friend. He never died but once I felt ready to fight the fear for good, I just drew a 3D image of a wasp and hung it up on the wall. Surprisingly, I feel compelled to put my hand out towards a bee. Lol. To this day never been stung so irrational indeed.

They kept flapping around and getting caught in my hair...was awful...yet I'm still not so scared of them.for some reason.

    I fear blood circulation also, it's so strange. Like I can't stand feeling or hearing my own heart beat. Also my veins creep me out. It doesn't make sense because I'm pretty okay with blood at least in horror movies... but not the nightmare on elm Street if you get the part I'm referring too.

      I kinda get it, but it's more like because I would be thinking about blood vessels being slit, which makes my skin crawl

      Bro same. If I hear a heartbeat of any kind I get extremely nauseous. Someone says anything about veins, arteries, or even if I just see one on my body I CANNTTTTT. I physically cannot get my blood pressure taken without unconsciously freaking out. My teachers in high school knew I needed be excused from any classes where that kind of thing was discussed.
      But like if I see someone bleeding or blood on the floor or something I’m like “okay let’s fix this real quick” with no fear??? It’s literally just the concept of things happening inside bodies that’s wayyy too much.
      Talked to a doctor about it and he said it’s probably related to claustrophobia???

      @@amandanachman1406 Yeah same! I think Rhett was actually on to something with his opinion on it talking about how we have like zero control over the mass amount of vital parts of our body and if it just stops it stops and that's it, nothing you can do. That's also interesting because I have a fear (I guess everyone else's does also) of being buried under ground trapped...Also being stranded out in the middle of the Atlantic no sight of land then some sort of Cracken or squid pulls me down to the bottom of the sea..... Dark stuff I know but maybe your Dr. Could be on to something.

    • @conorgillespie7832
      @conorgillespie7832 4 года назад

      It's the "Nothing you can do" I think that is the point of interest there. But again it's so strange to hear your own heart beat and what to throw up like it's a cruel joke lol. :)

    • @conorgillespie7832
      @conorgillespie7832 4 года назад

      @@yasaiaisa8363 yeah I don't like the thought of blood that is supposed to be inside the body being outside of it... But for me it's not really about that it's the pulse, it's clock ticking, it's the metronome of life and the paralyzing fear of realising that you have zero control over it. It's so strange. Like I'm not so scared of death , like I don't welcome the thought but I fully understand it as much as a mortal human could I guess but the fact I have basically zero control over the thing that keeps me alive freaks me out. It's so weird to dislike the sound of one's own heart beat.

    I start to get really freaked out by blood flow too sometimes. Also breathing. If I become too overly aware of my heart beating or my breathing, it can start to really freak me out. I can't do those breathing exercises that people tell you to do for anxiety, because being aware of my own breathing can give me anxiety

    I've had the discussion with friends if audiobooks count as "read". I say yes but others don't, giving the rationale that the interpretation of the dialog isn't mine so it doesn't count.

    I work at a vets office on the weekends and over the summer I can get blood of a cow from head to toe all over me, but anyone talking about human blood i gag and i almost pass out. One of the techs i work with had to preform CPR on her bestfriends son who was dying and he died and she said Human blood just hits different and I completely understand that. Human blood just hits different. There is just something about it that makes it ten times harder to deal with.

    My bizarre phobia is a fear of very high ceilings. The first time was when I was around 5, I had gone with my mom to a gym a few times while she played volleyball. One day while we were leaving, I just happened to glance up at the ceiling, and was so shocked at how high it was. I had never noticed before. Suddenly I felt out of balance and I fell backwards fainting. Since then, I have a very dizzy feeling if I'm in a building with a high ceiling, and I get so scared that I will faint again that I go into a panic attack.

      You won't feint. Looking up high can really throw off your eyes and therefore make it harder to balance. It's nothing wrong with you personally. I find looking up at the sky at night has the same effect for many many people.

    I know the whole getting weak just thinking about blood circulation. I don't faint personally, but I feel squeazy. It's common enough that our biology teacher warned us when we started with human circulatory system. "If you start feeling weak feel free to say so. There has been multiple fainters when we have gone through with this". And no it's not seeing blood. It was just pictures. Ok at one point we took a bloodtype test but that didn't really bother me. It was a prick on the finger. The explanation of the circulatory system just messes with something in my mind and makes me feel weak

    There's kind of an unwritten rule that when you're in x-ray school, if your first reaction to a broken bone/blood dripping/etc isn't "cool, that's interesting" it's not the field for you. People that faint at blood make no sense to me.
    I also have no fear of any "dangerous" animals (snakes, spiders, bears, tigers), but I can't stand mice lol

    I can one-up you, Link. I donated plasma and they stuck the needle through both sides of my vein. Then readjusted it without actually pulling it out... So when they pumped the saline into my arm while returning blood, it went into my arm instead of my vein like it was supposed to. My arm was inflating like a balloon and I had to rip the needle out because my skin was literally getting tight and looked like it was about to pop. Then because I pulled the needle out, my blood spurted everywhere. How's that lol

    Wind turbines don’t move as fast as people think, there are motors in them that prevent them from moving too fast. My brother actually is a wind turbine technician and one of the people who actually go to the top of them and fix them.
