    Very nice and informative video! Thank you, Hobie-Wan Kenobi, for featuring the VARIVAS Super Trout Advance "Bush Trail" nylon line. It's the perfect line for the terrain you're fishing. Tight lines!

      I have been liking the line and decided to share my thoughts and why I use it. I plan on doing a Bush Trail review video pretty soon. I have been using it a lot and I believe I have enough time with it to give an honest and thorough opinion of the line.

    Another great video. Floating lures work particularly well when weather was constantly sunny (high barometric pressure). The trouts are lurking in the shadows and attack immediately when the lure hits the surface. Bug imitations, minnows, insects…it doesn‘t matter.

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  3 года назад

      Thank you. Yeah, trout are a lot more aggressive than people think.

    My first trout caught (after multiple trips, days of fumbling, losing pricey sinking lures, and getting skunked) with BFS gear was on a 50mm floating lure. It is now a staple in my lure box.

    I haven’t fished a lot of floating minnows for trout but I’ve done well on rapala originals but the trick I’ve found In clear water streams is something bright and flashy moving fast. I rarely have got them on a pause I usually get reaction strikes burning it downstream in current seams and cut bank. The chartreuse silver on sunny days, purpledescent in stained water.

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  Год назад +1

      Clear water can be tricky. The reaction strike gets them to make a decision real quick whether to grab the lure or not. Sometimes, it scares them too. Just hve to see what type of mood the fish are in.

    Really good and informative videos! Always casual and on point! Do you sometimes use spoons to fish trouts? I've started using them to fish with something different, but lack information on how to properly use them in rivers just like the ones you usually fish...

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  2 года назад

      I use spoons but, usually pretty rare for me unless the fish are really finicky. Fishing them slow is usually key.

      These hooks are #10 Owner C'Ultiva 55-SBL. For 50mm baits, I like either a #8 or #10, depends on where I am casting the lure and the profile of the lure.

    Whats your go to hook size for these lures between the 40s and 50s mm size?

    • @HobieWanKenobi
      @HobieWanKenobi  3 года назад

      I like to have a #8 size hook for most lures in the 40mm to 50mm range.

  • @Black-March
    @Black-March 3 месяца назад

    I'd fish that so differently, I'd be throwing across and pointing my rod upwards then getting as much sideways action as I could. I also have much better experiences with constantly retrieves and constant action, making the lure have a lot of action while also being predictable is a great way of getting bites.
