The theme for this song is “the first death of a dancer is when he stops dancing. And this death is the most painful” Bts talk about how they’re scared of stop loving to make music and they question themselves of what will they do if/when this happens. It was lately found out that during this song bts actually went through a situation they were describing in Black Swan. “No song affects me anymore; the heart no longer races when the music starts to play; no longer makes my heart vibrate” They weren’t satisfied with themselves as artists and didn’t feel very happy and enjoyable about their lives. Therefore, this song coveys their struggles and worries about life of an artist and the consequences of an artistic burnout.
I also to add…maybe not to stop loving music but maybe, won’t be able to find any inspiration or anything to write about. It reminds me of what Yoongi said during Fiesta dinner 2022. He said, “when they were younger they had a lot to say but not the skills to do so, but now they have the skill but don’t know what to talk about (have any inspiration)” (Paraphrased). Which is a reason why they are having this “break” or “which of focus” for the beginning of Chapter 2. Man I love them for their honesty!! 💜💜💜💜

I’m a 63 year old grandma from Mexico living in the USA and I was found by BTS almost three years ago and I absolutely love them. I will continue watching you react to ARMYs recommendations, House of Cards and The truth untold are two beautiful songs to appreciate the Vocal line formed by JK, Jimin, V and Jin. Each one of them have a special voice you are going to love it. *Jimin* (blue hair) is the only guy in the group who is trained in contemporary dance, he was #1 in his school of arts. He took lead on the choreo in this MV, teaching the other guys how to move. Next suggestion: - "Blood Sweat and Tears" - "Not Today"
Black Swan has an orchestra version, when you look it up it's the one Art film title. I would definitely recommend listening to that version too. You don't even have to react to it but definitely listen to it.
The orchestra version is my favorite. Look at the MV PLEASE it's SO underrated! As a dancer myself it made me so so so happy that they showed the importance of art in dance

Been loving your reactions learning about our boys. Jimin is the one who majored in contemporary dance for about 1-2 years prior to joining Big Hit. Black Swan was several years later and I think it's a testament to how good he is to still be able to dance like this, since they mostly focus on hip hop style of dancing. For ballads I love House of Cards live with English subs, The Truth Untold, Film Out, Your eyes Tell, Stay Gold. They have beautiful voices, and ranges. Enjoy your dive into the rabbit hole💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

A few minutes into the video and I see you've mentioned ballad. BTS do have ballads...two popular ones with music videos are 'Spring Day', and 'Yet To Come'. There are others that are sung by just the vocal unit and also solo songs. 'Spring Day' is one of their most successful songs in South Korea. It's a nostalgic, longing type of song. Most importantly, it's a favourite among korean listeners because it alludes to the Sewol ferry tragedy (2014) that took the lives of 304 passengers most of whom were young students. I can't help but cry whenever I listen to it. The song has been charting on SK's Melon Music charts for over 258 weeks now. It's the longest charting song in Melon Chart history.

I really like that one. Just so they know the Music Video for Airplane pt. 2 is in Japanese (the original is in Korean). So if they are interested in hearing the Korean I recommend looking up lyrics video Korean version. Personally I like how it sounds better in Korean. I still recommend the music video (personally I really like it).

I think reacting to "Film Out" MV would be amazing! Oh, also, in case you didn't know, yes bts also have albums and songs in japanese too (the members are all fluent in japanase). they usually have japan comebacks after they released the korean one, mostly the songs are just japanase ver of the original songs, but they also have some songs that originally in japanese and don't have the korean version of it(such as Film Out, Let Go, Your Eyes Tell, many more!) Also, when you learn about their vocal line (Jungkook, V, Jimin and Jin), you will be amazed at how their vocal have different characters and compatible with each other (their rap line is also like this too tbh). You should react to "Festa 2021 Room Live" and "A Guide To BTS members: BANGTAN 7" by Taylor. Festa is basically a mixup of their songs from their debut till 2020. The intro docu will be more centred towards the members individually and their artistry.

I know this comment is late, but NOW that we know (from Jin sharing in his "The Astronaut" V live), that they collectively decided to enlist in the military after releasing MOTS 7 (where this track is included)... the message of this song makes more sense. Namjoon (who wrote Black Swan, primarily) has been vocal about saying he needs to "find his purpose", multiple times during the 2 years of the pandemic... not knowing if he is an IDOL or global ambassador (watch his Rolling Stone interview with Pharrell) gives the lyrics to this a whole other level of meaning and gives a glimpse into the turmoil that must have been going on in him, at the time. Black Swan is about losing one's passion for something, for their art. And now this makes so much more sense. Cannot wait for RM's solo project, "Indigo"! I hope you guys can go check his other solos "RM" and "Mono" before Indigo comes out, or at least listen to them on your own time. You'll get a deeper appreciation for him as an artist.

Jimin is trained in contemporary dance which shows in the way he moves and even stands in many of their videos and dance practices ( which are not really practices) and he also studied ballet, traditional and hip hop at his performing arts high school and dance Academy in Busan. He and the other members showcase contemporary a lot in this video- the dance style and bare feet. There is also an instrumental Art Film version of this song with the contemporary/modern MN Dance Company from Slovenia(not BTS) that was released before this one- it is so beautiful. 💜

In the MV they display the meaning behind the track, Jimin shows it through his solo freestyle dancing reflecting as their shadows since he’s the black swan and brings out his wings (which wasn’t part of the original choreography) this particular dance was done by brailizan dancer which Jimin helps the others since it’s more his element with assistance from Hobi and JK. A theme you’ll see in a lot of BTS videos/songs, is the dichotomy between good and evil ( the black and white outfits in this video and also the theme of the Black Swan movie). It’s about facing and accepting all parts of ourselves, no one is ever just one thing as humans are complex, I personally love the honesty in this message because it’s vulnerable and real. Many people wear a mask and don’t feel comfortable accepting all parts of themselves or rather it’s not acceptable to show all sides of yourself as in when you’re angry or sad someone will always tell you to calm down or cheer up. Down the road, when you get to their Map of the soul album, the songs are based on Swiss Psychiatrist Carl Jung’s theory, the lyrics inspire introspection and growth. I love that BTS touch on these topics and although some songs are just fun, most have a deeper message. Also in this video, they’re talking about, as an artist, fear of losing passion for their art. A reference to the quote by a dancer Martha Graham-“a dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing, and this is this first death is more painful”. ARMY won't really mind if you guys rewatch the video or look up lyrics after watching their MVs. If you're going with the latter option, I would recommend doolsetbangtan (she has a website) that has a complete translation (with context) of all BTS songs, one of the most reliable translators in the fandom. :) Their lyrics are one of the biggest reasons why BTS is where they are today.

Black Swan is about BTS fear of one day losing their love and passion for music. At the time they were really burnt out and were actually intending on taking a break and doing solo albums after their world tour in 2020. But the pandemic happened and the entire tour was cancelled, so BTS held off their plans and made some fully English songs to cheer people up and recorded their album BE during the pandemic instead.

More info, Kim Soek-jin never sang a note before being recruited by Big-Hit for his visuals. He practices constantly, so much so that he went from small segments in their songs to solos. I cannot imagine not hearing that beautiful, lyrical voice. When you can, watch House of Cards and Truth Untold, just the vocal line and you can then appreciate the diligence and hard work these then boys, now men put into their work.

It’s a very emotionally charged song, since this was intended to be their last single/album before going on the hiatus they’re currently on. Also, this is an absolutely stunning performance Live in recent concerts. If you can find a fan cam from their LA and/or Las Vegas concerts (late 2021 and April 2022, respectively), please do watch that even if you don't react with us. It's amazing! I do recommend Festa Room Live 2021 next so you can hear vocals and raps on a variety of songs. A few minutes into the video and I see you've mentioned ballad. BTS do have ballads...two popular ones with music videos are 'Spring Day', and 'Yet To Come'. There are others that are sung by just the vocal unit and also solo songs.
'Spring Day' is one of their most successful songs in South Korea. It's a nostalgic, longing type of song. Most importantly, it's a favourite among korean listeners because it alludes to the Sewol ferry tragedy (2014) that took the lives of 304 passengers most of whom were young students. I can't help but cry whenever I listen to it.
The song has been charting on SK's Melon Music charts for over 258 weeks now. It's the longest charting song in Melon Chart history.
If you want a Ballad song from them, I recommend “The Truth Untold.” They don’t have a MV for it, but a live one is really good. 💜

if you want to hear their vocal, I suggest you to react their japanese songs since the vocal lines in those songs are crazy like hella crazy! I think reacting to "Film Out" MV would be amazing! Oh, also, in case you didn't know, yes bts also have albums and songs in japanese too (the members are all fluent in japanase). they usually have japan comebacks after they released the korean one, mostly the songs are just japanase ver of the original songs, but they also have some songs that originally in japanese and don't have the korean version of it(such as Film Out, Let Go, Your Eyes Tell, many more!)
Also, when you learn about their vocal line (Jungkook, V, Jimin and Jin), you will be amazed at how their vocal have different characters and compatible with each other (their rap line is also like this too tbh). Their technique, range, style is just *chef's kiss👌*

You should react to "Festa 2021 Room Live" and "A Guide To BTS members: BANGTAN 7" by Taylor.
Festa is basically a mixup of their songs from their debut till 2020.
The intro docu will be more centred towards the members individually and their artistry.

I know this comment is late, but NOW that we know (from Jin sharing in his "The Astronaut" V live), that they collectively decided to enlist in the military after releasing MOTS 7 (where this track is included)... the message of this song makes more sense. Namjoon (who wrote Black Swan, primarily) has been vocal about saying he needs to "find his purpose", multiple times during the 2 years of the pandemic... not knowing if he is an IDOL or global ambassador (watch his Rolling Stone interview with Pharrell) gives the lyrics to this a whole other level of meaning and gives a glimpse into the turmoil that must have been going on in him, at the time. Black Swan is about losing one's passion for something, for their art. And now this makes so much more sense. Cannot wait for RM's solo project, "Indigo"! I hope you guys can go check his other solos "RM" and "Mono" before Indigo comes out, or at least listen to them on your own time. You'll get a deeper appreciation for him as an artist.

Jimin is trained in contemporary dance which shows in the way he moves and even stands in many of their videos and dance practices ( which are not really practices) and he also studied ballet, traditional and hip hop at his performing arts high school and dance Academy in Busan. He and the other members showcase contemporary a lot in this video- the dance style and bare feet. There is also an instrumental Art Film version of this song with the contemporary/modern MN Dance Company from Slovenia(not BTS) that was released before this one- it is so beautiful. 💜

In the MV they display the meaning behind the track, Jimin shows it through his solo freestyle dancing reflecting as their shadows since he’s the black swan and brings out his wings (which wasn’t part of the original choreography) this particular dance was done by brailizan dancer which Jimin helps the others since it’s more his element with assistance from Hobi and JK. I also noticed Jin’s reflection didnt move within the mirrors when he turned around 👀 on top of them all dancing barefoot. *The song is very sad even though it may not appear that upbeat, it’s about a dancer who dies twice (not literally) but inside when the artist stops performing which is the first death is most painful* BTS and all of artist fear of one day they may lose the passion for music and dance, making them die their first death.*
*FUN FACT: After watching Black Swan movie a couple times RM got inspired and decided to write a song about the sacrifice an artist makes when they lose the passion or stops performing which is the hardest thing to do the first time around.* #BlackSwan #BTS

I love watching people discover BTS
A theme you’ll see in a lot of BTS videos/songs, is the dichotomy between good and evil ( the black and white outfits in this video and also the theme of the Black Swan movie). It’s about facing and accepting all parts of ourselves, no one is ever just one thing as humans are complex, I personally love the honesty in this message because it’s vulnerable and real. Many people wear a mask and don’t feel comfortable accepting all parts of themselves or rather it’s not acceptable to show all sides of yourself as in when you’re angry or sad someone will always tell you to calm down or cheer up. Down the road, when you get to their Map of the soul album, the songs are based on Swiss Psychiatrist Carl Jung’s theory, the lyrics inspire introspection and growth. I love that BTS touch on these topics and although some songs are just fun, most have a deeper message. Also in this video, they’re talking about, as an artist, fear of losing passion for their art. A reference to the quote by a dancer Martha Graham-“a dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing, and this is this first death is more painful”.

I believe that even BTS’ many genres represents their message the best- as in don’t be afraid to follow your heart and passion where ever that leads, they just love music and don’t have to follow patterns or be boxed into any one lane just because that’s what has always been done. Black Swan is about BTS fear of one day losing their love and passion for music. At the time they were really burnt out and were actually intending on taking a break and doing solo albums after their world tour in 2020. But the pandemic happened and the entire tour was cancelled, so BTS held off their plans and made some fully English songs to cheer people up and recorded their album BE during the pandemic instead.

More info, Kim Soek-jin never sang a note before being recruited by Big-Hit for his visuals. He practices constantly, so much so that he went from small segments in their songs to solos. I cannot imagine not hearing that beautiful, lyrical voice. When you can, watch House of Cards and Truth Untold, just the vocal line and you can then appreciate the diligence and hard work these then boys, now men put into their work.

When you posted the teaser yesterday, I knew that you’d be reacting to Black Swan 😂😂 BTS’ range is limitless. It’s a very emotionally charged song, since this was intended to be their last single/album before going on the hiatus they’re currently on. Not to mention the role this song plays in their Map of the Soul series.

Also, this is an absolutely stunning performance Live in recent concerts. If you can find a fan cam from their LA and/or Las Vegas concerts (late 2021 and April 2022, respectively), please do watch that even if you don't react with us. It's amazing! I do recommend Festa Room Live 2021 next so you can hear vocals and raps on a variety of songs.
