I’m glad you guys are enjoying it. You have over 10 yrs worth to cover and over 300 songs to explore. It’s a good time to learn about them because they are pausing/slowing down doing group projects and focusing on solo work.
What’s different about KPop is they take music making as an art. Many of the groups have themes and storyline that connects their MVs. BTS takes general truths about the human experience and emotions and applies it to music that ties both to their storyline and general themes of each albums.

I'm not sure what's next on your list to watch, but a live should be one of them. I highly recommend their Tiny Desk or Festa Room Live. - Kinetic refers to movement so this is "just" the dance video but as you've experienced it's a lot easier to digest for newcomers because of all the symbolism in the mv. 😅
    - You're right, Jungkook/JK was only 13 when he joined Big Hit. (When they themselves talk about age they use Korean age which is calculated a little differently so don't get confused if you hear them say 15. Just know that in Western age he was 13. 😉)
    - Fun fact: The girl at the beginning is Sienna Lalau, a renowned choreographer. It's her dance company, "The Lab", they used here and whenever they're in the US (in mvs, concerts, Grammys, Lollapalooza,...). *When she choreographed ON she was only 19!* 🤯

yea, when Jungkook was asked on one of their Q&A clips which was his favorite dance he said this one because of the hype the dancers were giving them during the performance. You can really hear how fun they are on the Dynamite Tropical remix dance practice with J-Hope ruclips.net/video/9k9mSleSFZo/видео.html. When I saw that I thought, no wonder Jungkook loves dancing with this troupe. J-Hope put them on stage in his show. They're fantastic.

I have enjoyed watching you getting to know BTS. Good luck!

They do music videos and dance practice videos. Next, if you could react to A GUIDE to the "The Bangtan 7"
You can see their personalities too on that video.
Ages in the group as of 2022
    Jin (30)
    Suga (29)
    Jhope (28)
    RM (28)
    V (27)
    Jimin (27)
Jungkook just turned 25 and yes he is the youngest. He joined when he was 13 and debuted at 15. Also fact: In the guide it will mention Korean age which you just subtract 1 or 2 years. In Korea, they consider you 1 when you are born and then you age again on new year despite your birthday.

  • @WhalienDNA

This song/choreo was their opening song for their latest tour. I was lucky to go see them twice and let me tell you: JK hits that high note in full voice live and perfectly every time they perform it. A similar high energy and really difficult choreo song they opened with previously is Dionysus. Watching them perform Dionysus live is like watching an Olympic athlete at the top of their sport.
The backup dancers here are The Lab and were their dancers at the Grammys this year and in their latest tour. The girl in the beginning who raised their eyebrow is the one who choreographed their part of this video. She was 19 here I believe.

  • @debhouckscraftycottage9288
    @debhouckscraftycottage9288 Год назад +20

They actually performed this live in Grand Central Station, New York on the Jimmy Fallon show. I believe that was Just before the pandemic shut everything down. There is a behind the scenes/filming of showing how they filmed it - somewhere near LA. Usually there are dance practice videos too, and I'm pretty sure there is for this one. The girl front and center right at the beginning was the choreographer for this. I believe her name is Sierra, and I heard that she was 19 when she did the choreography. Amazing. Yes, they used UCLA Marching Band, as well as a Gospel Choir for some parts of the backing track. Jungkook, the youngest, just turned 25 on September 1st. He joined BigHit at 13 and debuted with BTS at the age of 15 (international age, not Korean age). He is considered BTS' Main Vocalist and there is a video by IDA S that does a good job explaining what that entails. To me, it is truly amazing he took that role on at debut - so when he was 15. All that said, the entire group has amazing talent, which you'll see when you watch an intro video, and just more videos/music of theirs.

It would be great to understand what album this song came from its from Map of the soul 7, the album is inspired by Jung's Map of the soul by Murray B. Stein, the process to individuation (persona, shadow, ego) a psychology concept. Bts incorporate many elements in their music to get their messages across. Their album proces is life transitional phases (adolescent, youth, young adult, and adulthood). Their albums often come in eras/series and have a storyline for each era. There is another storyline that goes back 2015 and intertwines with certain mvs, but its not just mvs. Armys theorize on concepts, photos, themes, trailers, we read the books they incorporate, watch Korean youtubers breakdown to give us an insight on the Korean references, etc...Bts lyrics are open for your own interpretation, whicb is why they higy encourage reading lyrics, but it will be good to atleast know the storyline or which era the song came from and understand its messages, have a nice day!!

    Thank you for reacting!!
Just a few things to clarify:
    1) BTS do use CGI or green screen but not as much as one would think. However they will do everything they can not to use it. If they can build/travel the will. It also depends on the theme of their song/album…Also for like Fire they usually will do real fire but in a smaller scale and through practical affect make it bigger. (For safety reasons)
    2) their is no right or wrong video for On. It just one is more about the BU (fictional BTS storyline) and the other is more focused on their dancing…
Sometime can you pls react to a documentary about BTS and the people who worked with them on this song. They talk about how it was working with them and what they think of BTS. You also get to see some of the behind the scenes and recording for the song. It is called:

I just found your channel and am binging all your reactions and loving them 😄 Man y'all have no idea of tge insane amount of content they have 😅 hundreds of songs, music videos, behind the scenes footage, movies, tv shows, concerts, live performances, interviews, etc etc. Personalities, dancing, music, lyrics, wordplay, poetry... Their albums have themes like Jungian psychology or loving yourself or school... There's a storyline through their music videos... It's fun to see new ARMYs slowly realize the rabbit hole they're getting themselves into 😄 I'm subscribing to see y'all on your BTS journey, so exciting! 💜

Actually, I want to recommend " Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7 " first. After watching this video, you guys would understand more about BTS, and their stories. Kpop music could still be a bit awkward for you, but I hope you guys love BTS songs more. They also have lots of touching songs like 'Life Goes On', 'Mikrokosmos', 'Spring Day'. Their lyrics and melody make us comfort, and touched. Bts does not use a lot of autotunes, and they sing so well on live performances during the dance moves. And I also love your reaction ! Thank you for uploading so fast 💜I will keep looking forward on your videos ! You don't have to be too careful talking about BTS, because we are ready to let you guys know more about it😉

BTS have SO much content available to watch to add to your reaction of any track. There are dance practices, there is a behind the scenes shooting sketch for most videos and stages, there is a ONE TAKE performance of ON filmed at Grand Central Station for the Jimmy Fallon show.
As everyone is saying, watch 'A Guide to the Bangtan 7' by Taylor. You will get to know a little of their story and a little about each member. If you love an underdog story you will love this. ARMY will always watch with you!💜

The thing is even though some people can't get into kpop but you have to just respect the HARDWORK that is involved with kpop groups. These boys go through vocal, dance and rap training at a young age and the trend now w/ 4th gen groups is that they also write, produce, compose and choreograph their stuff too soooo even if you can't get i nto the music you still must recognize the HARDWORK AND SACRIFICE that these idols put into their work.

Fun facts and trivia. The girl in the middle in the front row of the first shot is the choreographer. She is very young and from Hawaii. The dancers are her dance troop. Her choreography is one of the most difficult to perform because of the level of energy it takes to dance the whole song. You first clicked on the sketch video. That is the Behind the Scenes video. It's fun to watch because you can actually see the drones flying around. Speaking of energy. It took them 2 whole days to film it in the hot California sun. Plus they were wearing leather pants and jackets. But you were right...their level of energy was outstanding. But now you can appreciate it even more. For 2 days for each take they had to dance All Out each and every time to match the energy they showed in each take. I don't know if you know how hard and tiring that is, but they were exhausted and depleted. Yes, it was the UCLA marching band track. But the dance troupe was actually in the video. There is a Behind the Scenes of the UCLA band recording the track along with the back up singers. Being a fan...we love watching every video that helps create the end product. They debuted this song on the Jimmy Fallon show in Grand Central Station in NYC to promote their brand new album, "7". To have a perfect print of a video to show on Jimmy's show they had to tape the song 3 or 4 or more times to get The Perfect Performance to show on TV. Again, each time they had to dance Full Out! An amazing feat! Here is the very sad thing. This was also the send off to start them on their new world tour with their new album. And yes, they were literally booked all over the world. But it never happened. COVID hit and the world tour was cancelled. Everything was cancelled. There is a whole story for you to find out about them during that time. How they felt? What they did? They obviously were so disappointed and crushed. They Never got to perform "On" in front of a live audience. NEVER. BTS vowed if they ever got to do a concert again "On" would be the first song they would perform. And finally after waiting forever their first concert was booked in L.A. And guess what? They performed "On" first to their heart's delight. Their 2nd concert was in Las Vegas and again they opened with "On"! There are many other videos of them performing "On" with various settings and various fun additions and changes to their choreography. The one I know you would like...they actually filmed on a football field with a real marching band. The dance break was written by one of the members, Suga. He isn't just a rapper, he is a prolific musician and composer and lyricist. One interview of theirs...the guys were just talking and they asked him how many songs he had written. He surprised and shocked everyone...he writes a song everyday. He literally IS a genius. But you will find out they all are in their own way. And yes, the rappers can sing too. And yes, the singers have been known to rap too. Lastly, in my opinion it is time for you to watch a video about them. XCeleste, a reactor, has the best introduction video. It's time you learned their names and got to know them better. So you don't have to say...oh that guy. That guy who was singing the solo part. But this is important to know. You can't memorize them by their haircut or hair color. It changes all the time. And it takes time to be able to identify them. It won't happen watching one intro video. But like all of us you will eventually learn their names and the sound of their particular voices and personalities. You have NO idea what is in store for you. It's all amazing and delightful and wonderful. Except when you find out all the hardships they had to get through to make it to #1. Thus this song and its message. "Bring the Pain On". They vowed from the beginning and throughout the years the haters, the obstacles, the challenges, and through the PAIN...they would never stop, but forge through. And they have! That's why they are the best, broken more music records than anyone even the Beatles and Michael Jackson, and they are #1. So enjoy your BTS journey. We are enjoying watching you experiencing it.

ON is actually the ‘sequel’ to Black Swan, and immediately follows it on the Map of the Soul:7 album. It provides a kind of resolution to the anxieties that song expressed. BTS albums are thematic and serial - they’ll explore related ideas for several albums. In fact, some of what’s being worked out on MOTS:7 goes back to 2015/16.
The ON videos and the one for Black Swan shot in the Los Angeles Theatre were filmed just a few days apart very early in 2020. Crazy amount of work… and they fitted in a couple of American TV show appearances as well in the same trip.
Then Covid hit, just as they were about to start a world tour with this music.
Jungkook was 22 when this was filmed, and just turned 25 a couple of weeks ago. He joined BTS when he was 13, they debuted when he was 15. That’s international age. Korean age is different, so you usually have to subtract one or two years when they talk about their ages in interviews.

People who say you watched the wrong music video should not be such tour guides. The "On" music video through use of allegories and imagery was designed to relate the meaning of the song. Sadly, many who insist on their preference for the Kinetic Manifesto, which is a performance presentation, do not engage the song's meaning to any significant extent. I am not saying you as newbies would be able to interpret the meaning of the music video without help on Google, an explanation video or from the comment sections. But to tell you that you watched the wrong video seems, to use an American expression, rather rich.
The Kinetic Manifesto is top tier BTS circus, which is truly wonderful and should be enjoyed. However, I would advise people who choose to ignore that Big Hit at quite a bit of expense deliberately decided to release two videos for the same song to stop using the term wrong. It is an ugly chauvinism. People are entitled to preferences and to express these. Please do but couch them as your own opinions. Indicating that something is wrong because you are so connected to the idea that you know what right is audacious and may be operating with blinders.

Black Swan also has another video 'art film' performed by Min- Check that out it's artistically superb.. We saw that first then they released the MV. They have many versions of all songs, some for concerts, award shows, music shows, art films, interviews with performance etc. so you will see many versions (example: Dynamite has 6 versions in song and 6 performances with different costumes and varied dances) and they all are amazing! When you get further into the BU there is the "Highligh Reels' all storylined and the "Wings' mini films. The storyline goes deep you kind of need to start at the beginning.
