Rest in peace Virgil Abloh 🕊 🕊 🕊
Great quote…
@@schawnettarobinson8584 Thank you 😊
Virgil Abloh deserved all the love that came his way. I specifically love this interview as it provides so much about him and kanye and their early beginnings
@I Give Thanks To My Ancestors cool what's the name? I love things that have a story to tell.
You’re going too much. You don’t even know him.
Naomi: "How did you get this job?"
Virgil: "I dreamt about it. . . wielded it into fruition"
GENIUS!
willed
TreyPrankz law of attraction
Creative imagination at work yet again!
How about saying Mr. Kanye West. 🔥
Love it! "The future belongs to all who create it indeed." Roosevelt.
Job well done, Virgil. Rest In Peace
I can't believe he's gone. What he's done for LV is truly exceptional. If you got it you were in style. If you didn't YOU WERE OUT! RIP VIRGIL ❤️🙏
My parents did the hardest part...to put me in a place to succeed... He was so humbled. Truly talented!! Rest in peace, Virgil!! Too young to die.
Naomi is a living Icon. She just exudes elegance and style. She is everything.
Love her!!!!!!
She waas even friends with the private island guy..
Except for the Epstein flight log and her business with Jeffrey Epstein. Don’t be fooled by what you see on the outside
His last statement showed exactly who he is. "Who can we empower next" That brought tears to my eyes!!!! #KudosVirgil
This is a man who was truly in his purpose - he really exudes that divine peace that comes from being in a career that you love. So dreamy. Rest in peace Virgil
There's no LUCK in Virgil's success. He's a perfect example of being prepared & always learning. The opportunities came & he was ready. I could listen to him talk for hours... Congrats Virgil! You never took the easy route & weren't trying to make a quick buck... You're living the American Dream, by following the American Path. So much respect.💕
Ahaha how how far gone are you people , never took the easy route? No quick buck? Ermmm Pyrex? Been trill? Stealing every idea he’s ever had? Literally famous because of Kanye? The fashion industry has finally hit rock bottom
That was her point he never took the easy route. He worked through those brands to get where he is at now. It's called stepping stones btw
Exactly, he didn't have an apprenticeship or family-tie or connections (and Kanye doesnt count, they grew up together before and through fame so I don't consider that a quick-way-out to explain why he became menswear head of LV, and if anything just shows his capabilities in noticing talent). He made the most of what he had and was prepared to seize opportunities. At the end of the day, he didn't take the job, he was offered, by experts and forecasters in the industry (who I should mention are far more qualified and experienced to discuss such matters than us) and financial advisors to back them up. Please stop discounting Virgil, he's a phenomenal workaholic who is more qualified in academia, possibly design than any other designer I am aware of. Being African-American certainly helped his case and im sure LVMH has their intent in that regard. Nevertheless, he achieved this position organically, and now opens doors for people of color, among minorities in general, with no ceiling to speak of.
every successful person knows it’s all about luck
That's The Recipe well you’re an idiot of you think that. There is never luck, success is about hard work and a friends (connections, yes it is important). You either know people or people know you because you’re phenomenal at what you do, there’s no in between.
I love how he said 'I can name instances 8 years ago that were part of this process'. I aspire to be so focused and persevere on something I'm passionate about just as much as he did
WOW! What a great man who got his engineering degree to please his father. RIP! You will never be forgotten.
This has to be the most relaxed fit I've seen Naomi in an interview. I like it though. ;]

Feet is already plural...
akualikewater totally agree, I think she should interview for Vogue!
She was calm in a breakfast club interview I never seen her have interest in most interviews
To even see two very influential people of color on this platform for vogue is really emotional for me and uplifting as well. Thank you to all of the people of color who had and are making pathways of inclusivity.
Jose T.P But he is a shameless copycat. Go checkout Diet Prada on Instagram.
❤️
virgil even blatantly copied Fontana's paintings in his gallery.
Ohhh interesting
Vogue has been supporting and employing people of color for years. At one point Andre Leon Talley was #3 at American Vogue and he went to Vanity Fair and back to Vogue. In the late 1970s and early 1980s American Vogue put Black models on its covers.
The magazine also highlighted Black designers. Its when a Black designer becomes all ethnic and begins to incorporate traditional African fashion design and culture into their product is when Vogue and many consumers lose interest.
Naomi was spot on, Virgil is an amazing gentle soul. With an obscene amount of talent. He more than deserves to be where he’s at. Virgil gives me hope to pursue my dreams! Thank You Virgil Abuloh.
Virgil as the creative director at LV Menswear and Edward Enninful as the editor-in-chief of British Vogue! Change is here and coming! Get ready!
JusticeAndrew extra credit bc they’re black right?
i think considering that statistically black people in America have the odds against them, it is very admirable that they've reached such positions of power. i dont think it takes anything away from us
Edward isn’t America or in America and Virgil is a 1st gen Ghanaian American.
mzChocoSensualHedbob this industry functions around the big fashion cities of london milan paris and new york and many powerful players are fundamentally american such as vogue itself thats why I specifically mentioned America. I'm sure race plays out differently depending on the context but I do feel the US is a big player in the fashion industry
JusticeAndrew real change in ownership, not being an employee.
this couch must be comfortable
Casting couch!
Yh it’s offwhite
For me, the sheer recognition of the MAJOR role played by Kanye is so refreshing and also saying this is not me but us truly demonstrates how grateful we should be and never look down on the people who make things happen for us.
I love her mesmerizing catwalk but she seems to be such a stunning interviewer.
Naomi has such a presence.
This is so sad 😭 I can’t believe he’s gone 💔 may his soul Rest In Peace
I see 👀 you😘
@@itohandannydanny2878 bruh what

Rest in power, Virgil Abloh💗🕊️
Virgil is very well spoken and a man of intelligence
That's racist
How is that racist?! Its a compliment!!
very racist
yung james racist af wow
It implies surprise that he speaks well, that the expectation is for him NOT to be articulate. Rarely is that compliment said about White people.
Fashion won't be the same...RIP Virgil Abloh.
Omg just came back to rewatch this rip virgil
I didn’t even know this brother until today, life is crazy !! May his soul Rest In Peace !!
He's so well spoken and the way he explains his concepts is just beautiful and articulate, RIP Virgil Abloh
she asked all the questions i was curious about!
Eunice Oh Really? She did not ask why he is such a copycat? Do you know of Diet Prada on Instagram?
Fantastic interview. All this melanin in Vogue... It's making me so proud 😍😍😍😢😢😢
Ashanti Maluleke without melanin it's nothing
She is a very good interviewer. The questions were so apt! They weren't pre-prepared, they sparked from genuine interest and admiration and facilitated a flow of conversation that was riveting m very impressed.
Just learning about you now, RIP he seemed like a humble kind soul. Engineers are super smart. Him having accomplished a hard science like that is tremendous.
Naomi, I think we have found your second calling..... This is the ONE to interview fashion.
Rest in power Virgil Abloh.
I love people that come across so very humble naturally
death always feels so incredibly random... though none of us can avoid it. dude came, saw, and conquered.
Coming back to this to pay respects , Rip 💔💔💔
Veni, vidi, vici: “I came, I saw, I conquered.” Julius Caesar. Rest in Paradise, Mr. Abloh. 🙏🏽😢
Shout out 2 Ghana!
Yayyyyyyyy. Go Ghana
I love these videos from Naomi, she is really uplifting the voice of the black fashion community!
Such a genuinely brilliant artist. Never in
my life have I looked up the name of a fashion designer on RUclips to actually see how they work, but he just somehow stretches beyond the confines of the industry and reaches out. He truly is an artist.
I really enjoy watching Naomi interview people. More, please!
Naomi is so sharp
KC Nwokoye that's surgery for yeah
It is all about what you put into your body and on your body.I am 35 and look 20.
lovey Which is why I was confused when folks said I wanted to be “Lightskin” 😳😳😳 Ummm no thanx I like more melanin bc it makes the age process much SLOWER....I have a cousin name “Toya” and if you see this woman you would be amazed at how youthful she looks and she’s older than me but that MELANIN is POPPING 😍😍😍 she look young as heck so I beg to differ about The Who “Light is right” concept bc once they hit 35 make up is a MUST and as young as 25 they already make up fiends 🤷🏽♀️
It’s that youthful look that speak volumes bc I went to buy ciggs last night, had no ID and the guy at the counter was like ID please 😳...I said “Sir I’m old” and he replies you don’t look it and I don’t wanna get in trouble for selling cigarettes to a minor 😩😩😩 such an insult & a compliment bc my fit was childish but I thought my face was real GROWN 😏
So inspiring ❤️. Love how the interview was conducted 👌🏽
This interview means so much!!
I just love his whole energy.
🇬🇭 mourns you dear Virgil. May your soul RIP
Get goosebumps every time I watch this
Ghanaian decent 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭✅ I’m an abloh too
This man is amazing.
Yeah still trying to figure out why exactly. Hmmm
Akeem Lawanson How?
@@mikeysal231 perhaps to the people in the fashion industry
@@mikeysal231 right. He has no style to me. Hes just a creative.
Rest in peace 🕊️💔🙏
I’m having chills because this is so beautiful to listen at!
this is such an amazing interview, so much inspiration and knowledge
So sad and heartbreaking to hear of Virgil's passing. 😥💔 May He Rest With GOD in eternal peace. I send all my prayers and condolences to his family and friends. Virgil was a man who had a vision, and brought it to life.👁👁 🪄🔮 His LEGACY will continue to live on. Virgil will be ALWAYS loved and GREATLY missed. 🙏🏿❤🕊
Thank you Edward, Naomi, and Virgil. We love and appreciate you!
The guy is a humble genius !! Stay humble Virg. 👍🏽
His collection was nice, very past hip hop/rap fashion influenced. I feel like streetwear is influencing the catwalk more and more, rather than the other way around.
Such a good interviewer / interview.
RIP to such a beautiful creative human. Thanks for this interview Naomi. xx
This is legendary!!!! So proud of Virgil and all he has accomplished!
This was so needed.
Kanye is a visionary
KC Nwokoye i agree! Kanye is an inspiration and has a foresight reason why he speaks in proverbs and many people don’t get it. God bless Ye, God bless Virgil
KC Nwokoye But he can blind, he’s capable of blurry vision and people dilute it
What a funny joke
I was scrolling through the comment looking for someone to acknowledge that. Like nobody wants to mention him in Virgils success...I guess only Virgil will
KC Nwokoye Your hair is visionary.
Great interview, happy for Virgil he's killing it now, and Naomi I'm happy she's doing more acting and back on the runways more, change is happening
This Interviews gives me the chills & excitement to learn more about him!! God Bless Him & many more doors to open for him xoxo
I keep watching this video over and over again. To learn something new every time
So inspiring 🖤 and I really need to add one of those beautiful reworked petite malles to my collection 😍
A very insightful interview...so chilled and smart..💜💜 him.
i love to hear him talk. He would be the best professor ever. Making more complex or vague ideas into something accessible and concise.
Yeees! Living for this 🙏🏾
Wow two very inspirational people 😍😍😍
OMG this is so beautiful and so uplifitng. Amandla!
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
He always says "WE"! I love this guy! Humble and everybody want that "Off - White" thoooooo........ LMAO😂😂
He's very talented and humble! This is what the fashion world needs!!! Great interview by Naomi. 💟
I’ve loved and followed Virgil a very long time. I was in the Chicago DJ sense ( but lived and from Toronto ) my first and only love Andy ( my twin sons father and Virgils “snowballs” 😔😊) is a 6’6 black bald skateboarder and we met Virgil on the street He looked up to my mans skills on the deck and we became friends He was Such a talent on all levels .!!!!
Love from Andy and Amy from Toronto and later Amy from the Toronto fashion scene ♥️♥️♥️ ALWAYS Will be soooo missed. Love to his beautiful family. We lost such a beautiful soul 😔😘🇨🇦
Why why 😔😔♥️
i love this interview-- pure inspiration and guidance...
Ekua Blankson He is a serial copycat.
Sara Hashim if you knew how hard a person works and sacrifices for becoming and doing what one always have been distant to do, you wouldn’t say that. What he has done is called “history” which will
Always be remembered. So keep the negativity for yourself. And let people grow into what the are meant to become. THANK YOU 🙏🏽
Ekua Blankson Yes I agree, he works extremely hard trying to steal from everyone else.
This is what you call content! Good job Naomi! ❤️
“We’re the establishment now”. Honestly I’m so excited for this new era in the art world where the greatest appreciators become the head, I love Virgil and his whole creative output. Just amazing 💪🏿💪🏿❤️
This is very intimate and honest. Wow. 👏❤️

Jesus Christ she’s really got some good questions! I’m glad they provided an equal as far as fashion knowledge. Much more of an enjoyable interview!
i would pay for a hour long edition of this conversation
A BEAUTIFUL DESIGNER INSIDE AND OUT💕💕.
I’m asking myself how an Engineer with a Masters Degree in Architecture become the artistic Designer of LV🤔… And my answer is just #Godsplan🙏🏾🌍💙🙏🏾
It’s called hard work.
I personally don't think there's a plan, suggesting that your God and not Virgil himself created this path is insulting to his dedication.
did u not hear him? he had a dream.
African Kids dying from starvation, Corrupt politicians ruling the world. #GodsPlan?
@@dimitrisk8270 yep hes a creative. Hes always creating and experimenting. Also learning
He makes me want my films to get successful and it makes me want to do it more hearing his words. I’m proud of him 😀 also both of their fits are so nice also I love that Kanye helped him
One of the most humble men I’ve seen. This man is an incredible human, he deserves all the success in the world.
She’s a great interviewer.
RIP Virgil Abloh
Still might want me a Stormi Daniels
Dab Savage real ones know!
Sometimes you gotta bag the boss up
Chef Peepeepoopooyardee you got the line wrong it's "this generations closest thing to Einstein..."
you're a supplement, you're a salve
you're a bandage, pull it off
Miss you Virgil
"I don't want a Black History Month. Black history is American history." Morgan Freeman

Man this is so inspiring

Great interview! 👍🏼
Congratulations Virgil! Pure encouragement that dreams and visions do manifest. Speak it and work toward your vision.
The way she said "I'm going to see virgil". Sounds holyyyyyyyyyy
Loved this. So inspiring ❤️
I'm so in love with the couch ! Aesthetically pleasing
Yassss my fellow fashion Ghanaian imm so proud
OP is clearly happy, why'd you have to be so negative and bring people down like this and call him pathetic when hes done nothing to you
Fred Fredrick l
@Kavita8 exactly and he refuses to hire black people.
@Yeshua another self hater putting down black women.
Legend! You did your part.
best interview, didn’t want it to end
Great story and awesome development and I love this interview
