Fun fact, you can actually teach a dog how to "read"
It's technically not reading but they can learn to recognize the pattern of a word. Like the word SIT. If you show a flash card with the word SIT on it and teach them to sit when they see it they will start to sit with you just showing the card

This also works great for outside & you see a toy clear across the yard. We taught the command "get your babies" and our dog runs & gets all his toys from the yard. He is so proud of himself after too

Dogs in particular love working a job and they’d working a dog. A working dog is never a bored dog so they won’t be enticed to do something naughty from boredom, when I trained dogs they really shined once they began training since it gave th purpose and sparked they fire for life.
