My buddy's S4 and I having some fun with a few highway pulls. Wish we could have gone longer but there was too much traffic ahead.

I know what a B9 S4 is capable of especially when tuned but you really can't beat Toyota reliability and that V8 sound.

GSF is definitely my goal upgrade after my GS450H. The sound alone is worth so much.

@luisdominguez9401 Depends. It is RWD compared to GS350, which is AWD. So if you live in a place where it snows, 350 would be more useful. 450h is definitely more powerful than GS350 but there are no additional upgrades you can do to it to get more power out of it because of the complex hybrid system. It also only has one "gear" but it isn't a traditional cvt transmission with belts etc and instead uses an electric engine to propel itself. It is a fast car and a very fun one but I think overall 350 would give you less headaches. My hybrid pack is showing signs that it needs to be replaced soon. That'll cost me around $3k to replace. You might also want to look into GS460. They are rare but they have a 4.6 V8. I never raced a 350 in my 450h but I did race a g37 and the faster I went, the harder I was pulling away from him. It is a high speed vehicle made for highways. Also, if I drive gently, it will do 30mpg. That's higher mpg than advertised, actually.
@Flying_Lexus oooo , I didn't know they made a GS460, it does seem to have more HP & Torque, I might look into this, but I just wanted an AWD lexus just bc I hear theyre easier than RWD and I've never driven a RWD car so I'm scared if I jerk the wheel ima crash, or if I step on the break to hard bc traffic is approaching I'm worried I'll spin out and the brakes locking... what year is your GS460H?
@@luisdominguez9401 GS450h is actually considered the most powerful and quickest in the lineup of that era but GS460 is cool as hell because of that V8. Unfortunately they detuned the 4.6 for the US market. It was supposed to have around 370ish hp but it has around 340+. GS450h also has over 340hp but it has a lot more torque because of the electric motor. Also LS460 has the same 4.6 but it is not detuned and you can get one with an AWD. I just like the look of the GS better.

@Austin Li I was looking for one with all black interior, but after months, a 2020 GSF was within my area; it has black with white accents. First, It wasn't my ideal choice but it has grown on me.

pretty impressive on the S4's part if you ask me. I'm familiar with both and while neither are for me, I get the appeal of both cars.
heres my rant on my biggest pluses and minuses of both cars:
Audi:
-Has a sublime chassis. Handling/ride balance is damn near perfect for a daily. Super impressive how well it handles given the smooth ride. Only two brands that top it in ride/handling balance my opinion are Porsche(their SUVs ride on the same MQB Evo platform), and anything riding on GM's Alhpa platform with MRC dampers.
-Like the GS, its obvious from the suspension tuning that this car was not meant to be on track. It kind of begins to disappoint when nearing its limits, say about at about eight tenths. Maybe a stiffer rear sway bar might be worth the trade off here.
-Nice seats, high quality buttons/knobs inside, solid door thunk, perfect transmission programming.
-Other than the above, interior looks quite cheap for the price and brand. The dashboard and upper door panels seem more like "VW Plus" than something a luxury brand would use. The styling of these panels is classic VW. Rubberized plastic doesn't exactly exude quality. The best interiors now use stitched [fake] leather on the dash and upper door panels. Even Mazda is doing this now with cars in the $20k range.
-Windows are single pane unless you step up to Prestige.
-Steering is lighter than an OG Initial D Arcade. Steering feel and feedback are non-existent. These are not driver's cars. It almost feels like a Fanatec video game controller. Totally disconnected, WAY too much assist.
-Android Auto doesn't work with my phone on Android 11 phone.
-Turbo lag is horrendous. This kind of lag does not belong in a luxury product period.
-Its a lease-only car. I'd get rid of it before 60k miles if I owned one.
-the B&O is not exactly hifi. it sounds sterile, no depth in the mid. tweeters are too bright. no imaging to speak of.
Lexus:
-Glorious NA V8. Always in the powerband, no matter what gear or throttle position. Buttery smooth, builds power progressively as any proper engine should. Glorious sound track. Will last until the end of time. This is why you buy this car. Its just perfect...absolute perfection. I praise them for keeping this engine in production for so long while the Germans were power chasing while getting raped by regulation.
-If you plan on keeping it(I don't know why you would buy it otherwise), you don't need to set aside 5 grand for random shit breaking.
-Like the S4, great sound deadening that makes the car feel highly refined.
-While the ride/handling balance isn't quite there with Audi, the balance is still impressive and better than AMG or M. it is a highly capable chassis. It can handle more power than the stock 470 hp or whatever it is. That is, the chassis doesn't limit the car's performance. You can throw more power at it and still keep it balanced if you firm up the springs and dampers. Very livable for city and highway driving in stock form compared to the Ms and AMGs.
-Interior is nice, mostly all the surfaces feel the part for the price of the car. DOesn't feel and look cheap like the Audi. Has the old school luxury feel and none of the modern minimalist, cold design.
-The car needs more camber AND needs to be adjustable. 0 degrees and no room for alignment changes is ridiculous for something like this. That pretty much rules out any kind of aggressive driving with stickier tires. That tells me this car was NEVER meant to be on track, or even a weekend car for the twisties. Its pretty much meant to be a a highway car like an AMG.
-The infotainment...what infotainment? The maps are from iPhone 3 era. No Android Auto or Carplay. You can mod it for a few hundred bucks to make it android auto and carplay capable which I think is a must because of the shitty Lexus UI.
-The sound system... uses high quality electronics and low quality drivers. Overall it is better than the B&O in the Audi. Its highly integrated so you can't get unmolested line level outputs from the stock head unit. therefore I wouldn't think to look into aftermarket midrange drivers and tweeters because of this. They are EQ'd and you're gonna have to use something like an AudioControl LC7i and parametric EQ. No way will that be hifi. I'd just add a small JL sub to the stock system and be done with it. It'll be decent.

I appreciate that you took the time to write this but I must say I disagree with some things. Firstly the S4 and Cayenne etc. are on the MLB platform, MQB is for the FWD-based models such as the Golf. Secondly, you talk about the Audi having the better chassis, handling and balance. You even say it's better than AMG and M cars, which is very curious and contrary to what everyone else says. Audi has a big front bias in weight and understeer (which Audis are famous for). It's a great ride but I have trouble thinking how an Audi S4 would have better handling than a 500+ HP M or AMG, that's ridiculous. The M5 runs laps around any Audi and same for an AMG sedan.
@@persiashahdi5215 I didn't mean handling balance as in front/rear grip. I meant ride & handling balance. As in the tradeoff between ride and handling. If you read my suggestion of a stiffer rear sway bar for the S4 and understand basic suspension tuning, you would have known that this is what I meant. I'm aware of MLB and MQB. That was a brain fart. S4 is not to be compared with C63, but the C43. The ride and handling balance of the Audi is far better. Same story with M340i. Both are way too stiff for the amount of body control in high speed limit cornering. The S4 does have lower limits than both, but the increase in ride quality is far more substantial than the decrease in cornering ability. It makes perfect sense that the platform is that good. They use it for the Urus and Bentayga and Porches SUVs, which have by far the best ride/handling balance.
I do not agree with the interior part, the lexus interior looks like it was designed back in 2005, while the audi feels much more modern and not boring like the lexus.

@@aus10li Ok? The Lexus still is up 40-50hp on the power to weight ratio and the audi is awd which definitely doesn't benefit it on a roll race. Plus it's more like 150 on the weight difference.

@@aus10li True. One of my family members has an M340i Touring, that thing pulls really hard for its p/w ratio. I sat in a Mustang Dark Horse recently (EU version, 450 hp) and it felt slightly faster. Still very respectable

Well my friend doesn't have the RS5. I would race one if I encountered it. Look at wheel hp...the GSF makes about 380-390 whp stock and the S4 makes 320-350 whp stock and has a 250 lb weight advantage. It's closer than you think

Man I love our cars, but at the same time I'm considering getting an M340i LCI to replace the F. Love the way it looks and the new tech along with much better gas mileage and same performance. I'd love an M3 but I still can't get over the pig nosed grill and actually thinking the M340 LCI looks better. Coming from a 2016 340 before the F, I kinda miss having a Bimmer. Tough call...I've been thinking about making the change the past few months.
@@aus10li I tested an m4 last week, and I must say the handling is much superior to my Lexus is, infact the difference was between night and day what even impressed more it's the responsiveness and it's low end torque, my is500 reaches some certain rpms before it kicks in completely
@@aus10li get that m340i, meanwhile it's much faster than the F, one disappointment about the F is their heavy weight, only if Lexus could make them lighter, I've seen stock m340i hit 60 in 3.9 seconds stock without any tuning

It is just the superior car in almost every aspect. Yeah I think stock vs stock is comparable but one mod on the M340 and it's lights out for the F and it will do it while achieving 30 mpg lol

Thanks! I got it for under $50k at 31k miles in 2019 as a 2016 model. It was a great deal at the time and even better deal now looking back at it with this chip shortage

Stock vs stock the gsf is about a tick slower since they both have the same engine but the gsf is 150 lbs heavier

Damn Lexus that's what I'm talking about, now imagine a supercharger on there 😭😭. I plan on twin turning my gx470 yeah yeah I know it's an SUV, but it the TRX can throw down at 7000lbs then it shouldn't be a problem for the GX

You do haha. Me personally, I'd obviously go GSF then RCF over the IS's but you can't go wrong with those either. Btw I used to have two vq's, a 350Z and g37s coupe...loved them but the F is a whole different animal and a major upgrade. Get you one!

I like how people are going crazy about the performance of the Lexus when this one is a m3 competitor. Which also mean RS4/5 competitor. Slowest of them all. Just saying 😌
It's not even really a competitor to the m3 nor rs4/5. It's in between an s4 and rs4/5 performance wise and the F honestly carves out its own little niche. I don't mind that it's not the fastest. I didn't buy it for that. I had a 340i a few years back and was very close to getting the f80 m3 or m340i next, but I wasn't willing to buy an m340 new at $70k and wasn't confident with a used f80 m3, so I went with the GSF. A quality, nicely built reliable v8 with the sound, looks, some performance, and comfort with the option to fit actual adults in the backseat comfortably if I wanted to (and future proof when I have kids). I love it and have no regrets!
New RS5 would beat it by car lengths. We don’t have new RS4’s in America. I have an RS3 and my friends GSF can’t even catch up to me. I still love the GSF though. It’s very nostalgic to me! I’ve had Lexus in the past and will always have a soft spot for them. I also grew up with V8’s.
I wanted a GSF, but went with the RS3 because it’s the best tuning car Audi has ever made. The 5 cylinder is one of the best engines ever made. With a tune and a splash of E85, it runs mid 10’s.
I still want a GSF though. It’s rare and it’s the Rolex of Lexus. It’s a timeless design that will be missed now that it’s out of production. First mod would be a supercharger.
@@aus10li For longevity, GSF is much better than 340. The B58 is a great engine, but all the other things can go wrong. Plus M340’s drop in value. GSF will hold value excellent! .

Yeah I'm satisfied with my choice. I very nearly also got an S5 Sportback, but for the price it was too slow. I wish I could supercharge it but that's not in the cards for me. I'd be fine with FBO tune at 440 whp ish
@@aus10li I agree, def made a great choice with the GSF. Definitely a great all around car and sounds rare these days with little 4/6 cylinder turbo engines. That thing will last forever if you take care of it. My 07 is250 still running solid with 193k mi. Just gotta make sure you do all the maintenance and do fluids early like tranny/ diff at 50k and oil every 5k. Was looking into GSF, but ended up going with a 6 speed F80 since I wanted something a bit smaller, more engaging, and faster. Honestly wouldn't mind the addition of the GSF in my garage as well lol.

That's advertised hp of 118 hp difference. You need to look at wheel hp in which the Audi is only down about 50-60 whp and weighs 250 lbs lighter

@@orj77 You're not stock then. Highest trap speed stock is like 106-107 maybe and high 12's in the 1/4 like 12.8. Maybe you have some super negative DA but even then I don't see 12.1 stock even -2000 DA. Come line it up
