  • We spend the afternoon and evening railfanning, two of the busiest stations in the country. We catch a variety of trains at Pennsylvania Station, including the newly painted Atlas unit for New Jersey Transit, and Grand Central Terminal ( don’t ever call it anything else or bad luck and misery will follow you). Here we catch several Heritage Locomotives such as one of the New Haven engines, the Conrail Heritage #201, and the Beach Ball #208. I’ll have to hope to catch the New York Central Heritage locomotive #211at a later date. We end the video with a snazzy musical tribute to the trains that we have seen under the streets of New York.

    Thanks for another great video. You got a lot of the heritage engines and the new NJT Atlas engine that looks really good. I liked seeing the variety of all the railroads and you taking the time to identify where they were coming or going to.

    That Conrail heritage unit does look great. I think I would have done Conrail blue for the font on the nose to stand out against the yellow background. However, it still looks great.

    Very Cool Atlas Locomotive! I wonder if NJT has one for Athearn, another good model railroad manufacture. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your kinfolk!

    Great video! Loved the heritage units. You’ll get the NYC unit eventually. I have a friends that wanted to get all the NS heritage units and it took him a whole year to get the ERIE unit and he went out ALL THE TIMEA!

    I must of just missed you today! I was at Hoboken and then went to Grand Central Terminal before going down to Penn Station. I caught the Atlas engine earlier at Secaucus and it's a beautiful paint job. They even made a model of it.
    Didn't see any of the other heritage locomotives other than the disco stripes painted NJT locomotive on the NE Corridor. Well always a next time to catch the heritage locomotives of NJ Transit and Metro North.
    I did get to see some of the GP-40PH'S and F40's along with a New York and Atlantic freight at Jamaica

      Amtrak is buying a fleet of dual mode engines to avoid expensive and time consuming equipment changes in places like Washington, D.C., New York City, Harrisburg, etc.

    I have been told, but not recently, that diesel only engines were not allowed in GTC or in Penn Station. Was that ever true or have things changed? Love your videos!!

    • @3985uprr
      @3985uprr  5 месяцев назад

      Things seem to have gotten a bit more relaxed on that subject. Often the locomotives in E modes fail, and they have to switch to diesel power.
