This is my favorite 12 year dram. I just love how balanced it is with an incredible aroma and taste. Well done Balvenie!
This is reasonably priced in Japan at about ¥5,000-6,000 yen (roughly $50-60) and really sets a high bar for introductory whiskeys. Thank you for reviewing this one!
Love this one. Glad we get 43% here in US. It is on sale this month and I’m stocking up !!
yep, so lucky! sucks that these are all 40% in Europe :/
This one is one of my favorites.
Can't believe I waited 2 years to taste this. An amazing whiskey.
Outstanding whiskey. I wouldn’t say it is for beginners. This whiskey stands out in smoothness and complexity.
Bought this at the Interspar in Wien Hauptbahnhoff last year for 40 euros as it was on sale for New Year. I hope they will repeat it this year too
tried this one a few weeks ago at work with collegues. I loved it so much. I bought my first botle yesterday :)
How was it?
Wow, your english has gotten way better
I cant wait to try this next payday! I am new to scotch whisky but I am pretty sure I like the more sherry forward whisky after trying Macallan DC. I remember a previous video on this and when you mentioned oranges you had my attention!
Question - if the whiskey was matured in Oak and sherry, how are we smelling Vanilla, oranges, fruits, chocolate and other smells?
Those smells are just in our head created by our mind.
Bought it at SGD 90. Nice dram indeed
I always have a special measure for this incredible drink. It's called a pint glass.
Just bought this from my local bottle shop... The tin had lots of dust on it... Now I know why, it's also a 25th anniversary bottle
He said its not stinky but its a speyside scotch, it definitely has a bit of that musty malt note on the nose and palate.
Great whisky my favorite or at least one of them but it’s 40% now instead of 43% like the older bottles!
my favorite
I opened a bottle the other day, really intense sweet full of flavour / sherry had a glass a few days later and it was as though I was drinking a completely different whisky , is this a common experience ? or have I got a duff bottle?
Completely normal. Once you open a bottle of whisky the flavor will evolve as it "breaths" over time. Probably some chemistry takes place, oxidation, evaporation, ect?? A lot of whiskys benefit from this, some not so much depending on your taste.
When I opened mine, i was a little disapointed. A few minutes later is balanced out but at the beginning it smelled or tasted (don´t remember) a bit metalic. I hope the next time I poor some it keeps getting better. Also, I was eating pork with lots of pickled onions so maybe that's why.
@@deifor Would have had the pork with a beer, the whisky, before the meal.
One of the best
Where did you buy the glasses from?
Google Urbanbar, you can get nice whisky tasting glasses from them.
Pretty much anywhere. Check Amazon.
Christ you have a 21 years old Glendronach in the back, amazing one.
Yeah ....what dad said
What is the best irish whiskey
Try Redbreast 12, usually mentioned amongst Irish whiskeys; Horst did a review back in 2015.
Had the Balvenie 12 yrs double wood: deception, too woody taste!😥😥😥
Tropical fruit salad with a peculiar coarse sweetness. Reminds me of the Glenfiddich 15, but this has a sharper, more interesting character.
I couldnt rinse in my mouth. To strong. Why
Its 99 us in my duty free. Crazyyy
That's crazy! That's about the price of the 14yo Rum Cask.
A little light on depth and flavor. It’s a bit too drinkable for my taste, much in the same vein as a Mac12. But if you’re looking for something with complexity, keep looking.
The sounds they make when drinking this is disgusting man
Smells like nail polish, tastes like metho
Like the reviews but you have to get the swishing away from the microphone. Disgusting.
For me, this is the worst whiskey of any kind that I’ve ever had. I must be sensitive to the tannins of tired old wood. I get strong notes of bile and vomit. Thanks for the video.
Vesbolk I’m so happy you wrote this comment as I’ve been looking for exactly that. Bile and vomit is my favourite.
Have another bourbon bile boy.
@Peter Macias Yes, and girly boys.
