    I like the size/weight of the 3800 for limbing/firewood cutting. I converted mine to rim drive/.325/050 full size chain.

    Looks like it has decent power out of the box for a 38cc chainsaw. My favorite all-around chainsaw size is the 45-50cc class chainsaws.

    That chain seemed to be binding to me. Almost as if you have a 3/8 chain in a pico guide bar or something. You should be able to spin it around by hand easily. Should spin over a little after you kill the throttle. Thanks for posting. Just subscribed.

    Looks a lot like the Blue Max professional saw I bought a month ago. It's a 45cc. You can cut a truck load of wood in about 20 minutes.(if you can keep up) Good power. Advertised as having 15% more power then other saws it's size. Was wondering what it was a clone of. Chain was crap, had to tighten it about every 5 cuts. Put on Oregon chisel chain took care of that. Now to see if it lasts. ($150)

    Cool beans on the Husqvarna ownership owns Zenoah. Wait until the word spreads that buying a clone saw is pretty much buying a Husqvarna.

    • @firewatch814
      @firewatch814 4 года назад +2

      Zenoah still makes and sells the g3800, g5200, and g2500. The other two don't get rebadged as husqvarna and husqvarna t425 is a g2500. Husqvarna bought zenoah for it stratocharged engine design patents. Husqvarna actually does not have a full line of homeowner and pro saws that they make. Sub 40cc homeowner saws are poulan and their top handle are 1 made in house and other's made by zenoah. The 543xp is made by zenoah and they use the engine intake designs from zenoah.

    Hard to tell from a video, but the little saw looked like it did ok for such hard wood. I'm not a big fan of little saws either, as I started out running a Mac 797 at 13, but small saws have their place (crawling under a building and cutting out piling with a 797 is not a lot of fun).
    It'd be interesting to see these cheap saws torn down. I've heard some have straight aluminum cylinders, maybe that's why they call for such a rich mix. It may also be because some of the places they're sold use motor oil for mix like we used to before the two stoke blends came out.

      Afleetcomand. Or something close to that . Is your guy ,that man has videos up on about all of this companies products. He breaks them down and researches them like a harvard professor. Even gives you the part numbers of the parent saws, oem replacement parts. In places that the clone may be prone to failer , so if you chose to build one from a parts kit( unassembled saw) vs a assembled saw . One could opt for original equipment of the parent saw in these failure prone places. Very competent reserched analysis. He has a ton of these saws . Accually utube AI will probably recommend you to him after you watch a few vids on them.

    I contacted hutzl about oil mix on my recent g372 purchase. One document said use 25:1 fuel mix, but inside the owners manual it said use 50:1 mix. Hutzl responded and said use 25:1 for break in, but then switch to 50:1 except in cold weather. Not sure why the cold weather makes any difference. I kind of think they are making it up as they go.

    Is this the strato charged version or Walbro at type like the Ryobi 3714?. Redmax invented the strato induction that's why Husky bought them. For modding the non strato are great. The g3800/4000s with muff opened up are nearly impossible to beat at 40cc. Monstrous power when tuned right

    I'll be curious to see if it makes it pass the break in period without breaking. If a home owner is just using it to trim small branches and little stuff AND cares for it and stores it properly, it should be OK. But, it looks cheaply made and fragile like the disposable Poulan saws you see at department stores. I wonder how many of them will get wrecked when a homeowner puts the bar oil in the wrong tank.

    • @DIYwithUncleCy
      @DIYwithUncleCy  5 лет назад

      Putting the wrong fluids in the wrong tank is the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw their locations too.

    • @Robb403
      @Robb403 5 лет назад +1

      Since the manufacturer looks to you for feedback, I would suggest they make the gas and oil caps different colors or add better labeling since this saw is clearly aimed at homeowners who will use it infrequently.

    • @wnessnol

      I tinker with the Ryobi 37cc version of this saw. Hutzl isn't playing with junk designs. They're cloning legends. This Redmax is IMO the burliest 38-40 cc saw ever. Tuned right and muffler cleaned out (if these don't have limiter caps, the muff may already be Cat free) no one I'll even try to run with my $50 robin refurbished. Even the non ported ones. Basically get the saw back to how it would be tuned in another country and you're golden. The strato version of this saw is the reason husky felt they had to buy Redmax. BTW Redmax have the most beautiful castings I've ever seen Ina saw. Make the orange Germans look like tin can

      The JonCutters are Zenoah clones. Zenoah is owned by Husqvarna but are not Husqvarna saws though some of the technology in them is the same there are differences. And yes it needs a little tune up.
