    Just wanted to say thanks! After seeing this, I got one for my 4Runner TRD Off Road! It was a game changer and I ditched the rooftop tent, giving me my roof back for storage. I put on a better roofrack for carrying more supplies and gear and can now keep recovery stuff and other non living stuff away from where I eat and sleep! I love how it is so easy to store in the bag, when not in use! (That was the selling point for me!).... I have a rear seat delete done and my brother built me a nice level floor and used automotive carpet, and it looks factory and beautiful!

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  Год назад +1

      I don't feel like the mattress retains heat like some do because it's not a cloth material. The comfort is adjustable. You can inflate it to be firm and push that button on the top to let air out little at a time to make it softer. It's better than any air mattress that I've used. It doesn't have those peaks and valleys like most air mattresses. It's actually a combination of air and foam.

      Hey Charles! I have to agree with you regarding their customer service. Unfortunately, I have also found it difficult to get someone to talk to. They have a great product but unfortunately come up short on the service side. I met Liz, the owner (with her husband) at the Overland Expo last year and in person, her and Claire are wonderful. That is where I purchased the mattress and a few other items. I ended up visiting them at their location in Phoenix and Clair once again was great. The issue is the shop is nit open everyday and when they are off no one answers the phones, emails, and don't return messages. I would try Liz's email directly to see if you have any luck: liz@deepsleep4jeeps.com
      Regrading the the leveling mat, I don't have much information about it. And yes, I have also noticed they don't show or describe it on the website. Good luck on your trip and I hoe you have better success with that email. If I remember correctly, they said they are usually at the shop an Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  2 года назад +1

      I have the 3 row which sits a bit different than the 2 row as far as the way the cargo area is when all seats are folded down. There is a slight incline up towards the front of the 4Runner which is actually good for me and the way I need to sleep. So, I personally do not want to make it perfectly level. What I am going to do is put 1/2" plywood under it next time because there is a small gap between row 2 and 3 when folded down. Though not a huge deal, I can sometimes feel that gap through the mattress. As far as the 2 row, from what I've observed, it looks like it lays down pretty flat so not sure anything really needs to be done there.

      Thanks. I ended up cutting a piece of plywood 74" long and wrapped it in speaker carpet to use as a platform for the mattress. It fits perfectly from the back of my driver seat to the hatch. It removes and stores easily as well.

      I have the 3 row 4Runner and I just fold the seats down flat, no seat delete. I'm not sure how the 2 rows are if you have one, but I would think the length should be the same. At your height, you should fit fine.

      I would say if you set it up like I did it, would be tight. I think you would have to bend a little. If you had a full size mattress or 2 of something like the DeepSleep mattresses and slept diagonally, then yes you should fit fine. I have the 3rd row so my back cargo area sits quite a bit higher than the normal cargo area that folds flat. Having only 2 rows would be more conducive to filling the back with a mattress and stretching ot for someone taller. I'm only 5'6"

      It also depends if you are looking for 2 row or 3 row as they fold up differently. I have a 3rd row, and if I put my front seats all the way forward I have about 83" (6'9") of space between the rear hatch and the back of the front seats. However, there is obviously a gap that would have to be filled for head support. I filled those with the blow up cubes as seen in the video. I can't speak for the 2 row 5th Gen
