The points about holding the phone and taking photos being OK is from the old mobile phone laws. Since 25th March 2022 that has changed and you can no longer hold and use a phone, not even for photos. Bit of a disappointing result with the white BMW driver completely escaping prosecution. Let's hope she learned from the experience that phone use behind the wheel isn't allowed. I'd imagine and hope that the registered keeper of the car would have told her about the police prosecution.
When riding with Amy, I was so impressed at her good cycling and riding. I've sometimes worried about some people riding with me to see what I'm doing when I catch phone drivers, but she was excellent. Much respect for her riding, and for her professional skills as a journalist.
