It's so odd how some Cabbie's are so supportive then you get ones like these who say you are the problem not the drivers on the wrong frigging side of the road? Keep doing what you are doing Mikey x
It's not really odd Adalind, but as with anybody else in society there are decent and not so decent people in any working section of London. The first taxi driver on this video was just a silly stupid boring pr*ck, and just to make it clear I am a licensed London taxi driver and of over 47 years experience. It's not just an avatar name on the left, anyway take care CyclingMikey.
It’s because most cabbies (proper London black cab drivers) are very good drivers, but as with anything there are always the exceptions that disprove the rule!
Because unfortunately a small percentage of cabbies also drive like complete bellends and don't obey the rules
He is probably a previous Mikey capture :)
Just like coppers.., Some are ok, some are absolute tools. Just gotta bear in mind that they see the very worst in us humans daily
I love the positive interactions with people who condemn bad driving. That's the sort of people I want in society, and our roads would be a much more pleasant place to be with more of them. Our society is so fast paced, causing people to drive dangerously, so it's great when people are happy to take time to chat.
Exactly. If everybody followed the rules in any aspect of life, we'd all be doing much better in many ways.
@@timjensen6968 I love this idea that the rules are always worth following, you must be some kind of drone.
I love the way these wrong-side drivers almost always wave their hand to indicate that they want to turn right. It’s as if they think that automatically entitles them to drive on the wrong side of the road.
Always gets me that too, as if Mikey is going to be like “yeah actually fair enough, I’ll step aside”
Its the arrogance of the drivers as if they think its ok and I am doing nothing wrong and as its normal thing to do.
What about bikes doing the same thing and not being stopped?
@@JustStuey another dose of "whataboutism". We could converse about the difference between bicycles, the number of people that are killed in cyclist only accidents, compared to people in expensive tin and plastic boxes. But I suspect I would be wasting my time.🤔
@@JustStuey You can't be distracted and fall off a car.
I love the little hand wave indicating they want to turn right as if that makes it ok lol

Your Jedi mind tricks don't work on Cycling Mikey
Even if you stopped one person from being hurt, injured or worse in any of your videos (which I am sure you did) it's all worth it. On behalf of my family and children, thank you for keeping us safe in the road
It's hilarious how many drivers struggle with reversing lol
but not all that surprising, with these drivers.
Scary and hilarious at the same time!
I've got a feeling struggling with everyday life is a common theme with these people
ego rarely lets you shift the gear selector when you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar
It's becoming a smaller and smaller part of the test as time goes on, so no wonder really.
I am surprised that the local council or the police have not put up a camera to photograph dangerous drivers and also generate an income. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Well, don’t be. The sloth and indolence of our local services is commonplace and should leave nobody surprised!
Interesting seeing this channel actually being reminded that there are police that can actually walk amongst us. Priti Patel who is Home Secretary and our ultimate chief of police has no police stations in her constituency that I know of. Tiptree and Witham have lost them; she probably has to go outside of her constituency or dial 999 to speak to a policemen. Probably get in to trouble now even dialing 999 as anything like burglary not involving immediate life or death is considered far too trivial. The infrastructure underpinning the UK is rotting away from neglect as evident from the pot holes littering the roads and there is no end in sight.
Two tier society. It’s a wealthy area and the excuse is that putting a camera up wouldn’t be “aesthetically pleasing “.Also , plenty of these people doing this are diplomats, NHS staff, TFL staff , I think that that’s the real reason for them not doing it.
@@michaeld5888 The foreign name Priti Patel explains why the UK is "Rotting Away"
This is madness. There should be an enforcement camera there. Good work and thanks for the entertainment
You do not have to pay camera tickets. In a court of law you have the right to face your accuser, and you very well can't bring a camera to court. That is for Texas,USA. Check your states law. It may be the same.
Let me add, some townships and counties COULD send the ticket to a collection agency which could in fact hurt your credit.
@@mrsynister666 This is in London you fucking moron.
I agree, there should be an enforcement camera but Mikey works for free and entertains us too.

That would be hilarious.
Go dressed as a 6 point FPN 🤣
And just say loudly: Thou SHALL NOT PASS!
That would be fun...... until he meets a wrong - side driver dressed as Gollum. Some one will get their ring destroyed!

I am amazed at how many people think they are more important than the drivers already in the line.
“There is always someone prepared to take a chance, with other people’s lives.” Sums it all up.
And... for what though? To save them a few seconds in the day while on their journey? It's absolutely pointless and in no way worth the risk in my opinion
@@benm5345 it's worth the risk when you don't value other people at all. When the world is you and nothing else, everyone else is an expendable npc.

And this is why we must all respect the centuries old British tradition of queuing.
I'm not so bothered about the queuing as I'm Dutch, but I am bothered about the danger these risk takers are posing to others.
@@CyclingMikey Ahahaha, I jest Mikey. What they’re doing is extremely dangerous and I’m glad you’re there to stop them. Keep up the great work.
Except on dual carriageways where people use one lane instead of two and try to prevent cutting in just before a narrowing, instead of using all the available road space and 'zipping' through the narrowing as informed to do so in the highway code.
Mikey, have you thought about getting a polariser for your GoPro? It would remove the reflection off the windshield :)
If ever a junction needed a total redesign it's this one right here, keep up the good work. Plod should do more to combat this dreadful problem.
Yep this is basically a bad layout.
@@robotsonmars1989 it really tempts people into dangerous moves doesn't it.

I think you're better off having two clear no entry signs on the right side of the carriage way. That'd probably help.
It's the most basic rule of driving, stay on your side if the road lol. How are people so dumb. A bit of patience is needed
It was nice of some of the drivers to show their appreciation by waving to you.... lol
Life is very simple……..just do the right thing.
If you fight life, it fights you back.
So let me get this straight....you have been doing this for years, why have the police not done anything at this corner?

@@markfarnon6742 Not how it works, let me guess, you're in your 50s/60s?
I cannot believe how far down the road some of these drivers drive on the wrong side of the road to get to this junction to turn right.
These people are what makes me hate driving. If only everyone drive considerably it'll make the driving experience better for everyone. I've started reporting bad drivers and one who did a hit and run on my parked car after driving like a dunce in the wet. He's going to court this month for failing to comply to who's driving at the time of the incidence. Already landed him 6 points and £660 fine. If he doesn't turn up to the court hearing I'm sure he'll be looked for by the police
I don't think I've seen this move anywhere else, it's quite strange.
About the same distance as the cyclists that he waves cheerily past.
@@quietman2672So aren't cyclists allowed to filter past the stationary traffic? He also scolds the ones driving on the wrong side of the island, but since they don't have a number plate, he can't really report them.

It's interesting that the hand signals by the rule breaking drivers are so identical, even down to the timing. The same bent hand gesture ("I'm just going this way, mate"). Great work, fella. Great restraint dealing with those are unhappy in their lives (that 1 cabbie) and want company in their misery.
I see you don’t mention the fines any more Cycling Mikey. Any particular reason?
It gets me how many have made the decision to pass on the wrong side well before they get there. It gives the impression they have done it before, possibly more than once.
I’m amazed how quickly they get let back in line. I’m the States I think everyone would close gaps and make them wait.
that def happens here in London too, just not enough in these videos. I definitely wouldn’t let them back in.
Hell yes, they'd be getting the "back of the queue cunt" hand gestures 😂
A lot of the time you’ll notice over some of the videos it’s more they bully their way back in.
I think it’s because they’re not sure what’s happening with person in the road. Normally nobody would let you back in
The generosity of the patient drivers that allow Merge in Turn by the queue jumpers is notable. Great job Mikey; great banter with the patient majority (including the stereotypically grumpy cabbie) and first redirection of a Londoner on a Boris Bike I've seen you effect!
I wouldn't let them merge back in I'd leave them sat in the middle of the road like a tit.
They are only letting these selfish idiots back into the queue on the correct side of the road so the law breakers don’t continue to block the road for the motorists who are going up it the correct way.
Yeah, I'd be closing the space as much as possible. I wouldn't let them back in!
The interactions are very revealing. It's a barometer of the society that we live in. May God bless you and protect you, Mikey. 🙏🏻
Honestly, I’m still astonished at the number of drivers that do this. It’s staggering.
I bet it only happens in the morning rush hour, the 99% of times
Need a polarised filter on your lens, so you can capture the drivers.
The queue jumpers can't lose. They all barrel up the outside of all those law abiding drivers and then If they don't get past Mikey they just reverse a little and then push in at the front of the line. Either way saving time compared to the other patient drivers who have been waiting.
They do lose because they get a big fine and six points in most cases.
The word "queue" should be pronounced "qyouey-youey-youey"
GANDALF CONER IS MY MOST FAVORITE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR POSTS CYCLING MIKEY. After a day of driving here with people who are entitled, spoiled I don't care if I hit you kind of people . Its a great feeling to see you demanding respect for the road. Great Job.
What are the accident stats on this junction?
You think they would redesign that junction by maybe getting rid of the island in the middle and creating a right turn filter lane and putting a box junction on the main road.
Exactly or at least put a couple of cameras up.
I'm surprised the local council hasn't cashed in on this and put a fixed camera at that corner, and looking up the road as well. it must be illegal to drive on the wrong side of the road even before the keep left sign. it would be a camera I would actually support. keep up the good work Mikey, if they don't install a Camera they should at least install a bench for you to sit at and deliver fresh Tea.
It’s owned by the parks.
you are amazing, thanks for standing up for what's right!
It genuinely makes me sad how aggressive, rude and unfriendly cars make people act :(
It's because psychologically the car is an extension of their house and they don't like that being attacked
I've worked as a professional driver (vans and HGVs) for the almost 30 years and i see similarities between the way people behave when driving and the way people behave on social media. Lack of eye to eye contact and the tendency to be in a foul mood are probably the main factors but i also suspect the viciously tribal part of our evolutionary baggage is brought to the fore in both environments.
There are so many examples of different types of humanity.
Mike is a hero and I wish him all the best, and to keep cycling safely.
As for the rest, it is not just the cream that floats to the surface…

The "Very Bad" and the shaking of the finger makes Mikey sound like a spinster schoolteacher telling off a pupil for chewing gum.
Came across this site by accident and now I'm hooked - it's so funny, even though I'm a driver myself, but I can't stand bad driving/drivers taking the p...! Good on you Mikey.
I'm sure people must have mentioned this before but why don't they change the island into a zebra crossing and a lane for turning right?
It's amazing we don't see this terribly often in the states. I mean, we have bad drivers and all but the amount you have......astounding. it's really mind boggling.
This is London, a different planet to the rest of the UK!
Love how they get closer and steer a little in the hope you move... People point out its often the expensive cars but what I find its those with private plates that push the limits the most.
I am surprised how easy the correct drivers let the bad ones filter back into the correct lane.
Doing so actively encourages them to queue jump.
I would sooner cause an accident and spend the next 3 hours waiting arguing about it than let one of those plonkers in.
Are these drivers potentially driving onto oncoming cars and bikes?
Thank you for everything that you do- you’re saving lives 100% of the time it just takes one cyclist speeding round to get hit and could die thank you for everything you do even in this lovely British weather! Hope to catch you round Regent’s Park during summer 🚴♂️
The cabbie "it's not bad driving I just don't like people like you". I reckon he supports Chelsea and his favourite player is John Terry. Only my opinion, I just got that vibe from him. Have a lovely day everyone.
Thank you EVER so much for what you are doing and for sharing it with us, CyclingMikey. Absolutely FANTASTIC and deeply appreciated by ALL road users. 🙂🙂🙂 It is INCREDIBLE how calm you stay even when these morons try - in vain - their best to insult you. Great, GREAT, MIKEY! 🙂 You are the HERO of London traffic. 🙂
I like where you positioned your bike and trailer so that people can not squeeze past, hence not driving on the pavement
Some great interactions here. Isn't it funny how even with traffic jams due to the tube strike that:-
a) a lot of drivers were appreciative, makes sense I guess
b) those that got caught didn't bother arguing as they sometimes do, their traffic cheating got denied and I guess they felt everyone in the queue were against them too
Why don't they have cameras on the crossing?
Exactly, then they could catch the cyclists, too
Find it hilarious how in the last couple of videos he does Gandalf enforcement whilst on a phone call, like the drivers are of secondary importance and don't require all of his attention
Its the silly wee hand gestures they do that always get me - like its going to change your mind
As a little addition, the drivers shouldn't stop on the crossings in accordance with HC rule 192. No legislation behind it, but it does make it harder and more dangerous for pedestrians crossing.
I just commented on that too before I saw your post
Do they get fines and points for this, given that you're stopping them going past the island?
The other thing I notice even with the drivers that are on the correct side is that very few leave a gap in stationary traffic for pedestrians to cross via that centre island, including many that you are having a friendly interaction with...whilst they happily block that section. There is a dropped curb there too for anyone in a wheelchair or motorized scooter etc none of whom would be able to cross during the frequent periods of stationary traffic. Just goes to show how few drivers think of pedestrians.
Nothing to do with being a 'driver'. 90% of people in general are entitled cunts these days.
I take your point, but there are no crossing markings. Very poor road marking by the local authorirty/council.
@@jdaley197931 I think the crossing island gives it away that it's a pedestrian crossing so leave a Gap.

plenty of ambient birdsong - spring is here!
The maddening thing is the amount of money you are bringing in means that if the police had an officer there permanently it would easily pay for itself
A camera would even do.
Mikey has commented under different videos that overall the fine doesn’t recoup the cost it takes to prosecute individuals due to the manpower involved. @Nona Cee , apparently the building opposite won’t allow a camera to be installed

Nothing but a busy body. Leave people alone.
Who is sad? You're sad. You're crying salty tears because bad driving is being caught and punished. You're salty because you identify with criminal drivers. On the other hand, I'm fairly happy most of the time.
Most of all I'm happy that your reaction shows how much traction this idea of good citizens videoing and reporting road crime has gotten in your head.
Tens of thousands of cyclists run video cameras and will report bad driving around them. From now on you'll remember this conversation every time you see cyclists on the road, and you'll think about some of us filming you. Some of our cameras are very easy to see, like GoPros, and some are nearly impossible to spot. Have fun looking for cyclists' cameras on the road.
I'm not even in the top ten most prolific reporters in London.
I suggest you drive properly around us all. Feel paranoid. Google your own number plates. Regularly.
In the UK the middle finger is what children of the TV do, we have the 2 finger salute that has a real history behind it, middle finger isn't an insult to me at all
You need tremendous confidence to be doing what you’re doing. Well done !💪👍
That talkative cabby is just great. (the gopuff advert one) Salt of the earth. Also Mikey. Liking the strategic positioning of your bicycle. That stops pavement climbers trying to get around the law breakers coming the other way. I wholeheartedly approve Sir.
No one is happy in London, I work there sometimes bad it is hilarious how people behave.
It's like watching rats in a rat run lol.
You captured the misery well.👍
Did any of the ones in this video get reported? Because none of them pass the island, and can’t actually see any of them completely passing the sign. Has the CPS changed it’s position re “completing the offence”?
Seriously, that look left sign should also say look right as well. It is an accident waiting to happen. What is it with that junction? You rarely see that behaviour in other places.
Why should it say look right? 😉
But if a pedestrian were injured by a wrong-side driver, it would certainly be raised in court that the victim didn't look right, despite the signage instructing them to.
I'm absolutely NOT justifying the bad drivers, but to answer your question, it's likely due to poor traffic management further along the road and in the surrounding area, ie: badly timed traffic lights. When traffic is continuously building up in a specific area, it's a failing of the traffic management systems.
Reminds me of a pedestrian passing that was notorious for cyclists running the red light to just pass right in front of the pedestrians in Cologne.
And on this one day I crossed there with my wife and as a veteran biker of Cologne I immediately saw what would be coming. So the light turned red for the cyclists and cars and green for us, we began our crossing (4 lanes) with an island in the middle. The biker on the bike path on the opposite side came closer just crossing the line with the red light that is in place for good reason. He had one hand on the handle and the other held the enormous amount of stuff on his back carrier in place.
To be fair he would just have made it. And I knew, that when you JUST make something - how easy could things go wrong? A gentleman for instance who is pretending to... I mean really is explaining something with great effort to his wife while crossing the street and is so dedicated he even makes some slightly quicker steps in the end. A cyclist riding with only one hand would certainly not be able to evade or stop in time I guess. Well, my foot somehow ended up in the space between his wheels and as he went over it, that bump launched him buttocks into the air and with him everything he hadn't properly secured to his bike. It was perfect. He suffered some pain, lost his breakable goods but nothing serious and it was impossible to blame me for anything.
Hopefully he learned something. Just think how easy kids can just start running across the road. And there is nothing bad about it. I mean it is green everyone os crossing and they already are half way across with their parents. Who would think of being overrun by a bike after reaching the "safe" other side?
Love your videos Mikey you're doing a great thing
