- A full fledged Cyborg, with little humanity left to be seen. He is the Rival of Morgan Blackhand and dealt the killing blow to Johnny Silverhand. Adam was given a choice by Arasaka after being reduced to mush by RPG blast - either pull the plug or become a full body cyborg. With little to no options and a lack of care for his human side, he agreed and became more machine than man. Adam has no empathy for people or even his fellow employees, but Arasaka kept him alive, so he lives to repay their kind deeds to him by killing the enemies of the corporation. A major feature of Adam is that it appears he does not have a lower jaw, instead, the head of a robot has been attached to his nose.

Maybe it's just me but it looks like Smasher is staring directly at V while both he and Jackie are hiding, like he knows you're there but decides it'd be funner to hunt them down later.
If you have the Threat Detector mod equipped to your optics, scanning him will indicate that he’s aware of your presence but chooses to keep silent because he finds it amusing!

two bad he has zero involvement whatsoever in the game other than these 4 minutes and the bossfight.
The interesting part of this, Adam's only remaining meat bit is mainly the frontal lobe of his brain, the part in charge of personality and memory, without that last 3-4% of "Not Cyborg", he'd be nothing but a robot

Adam Smasher I think should have been a little more relevant to the story. Like after some missions he would appear out of no where to hunt you down but neither of you would get an absolute victory until the end.

@@Sassy_Witch the story was great? No, I'm sorry I just can't grasp that, the story is not great, it's just a bunch of uneventful things leading to an uneventful ending where you have no saying. The basic components are there but a lot of things were clearly cut and changed in the last minute.
At 0:36 he saw you. That thing sniffed you out and could kill you. He straight up LOOKS AT YOU. The thing is, he’s bored. He wants to see you try. The fact that he’s so strong that only his boredom keeps him from mulching you is not just unsettling, it downright terrifying.

I think it’s cool that he’s kind of a mystery as to where he’s at or what he’s doing because we barely see him but you just know for a fact that at some point in the game you’re going to have him be a boss you have to fight.

I agree but it also makes sense because he is the personal body guard of arguably the most powerful person in the country possibly even the world so it's safe to assume he would constantly be by his side instead of leaving him vulnerable to run around the city to try and tie up loose ends.
His entrance in the Aldecaldos ending was horrifying.
This is the first video game I ever played that actually scared me. Just the thought of Adam smasher and seeing him gives me anxiety

Aside from Johnny Silverhand, Adam Smasher is one of the most memorable characters in this game. I remember coming out the elevator on that BD, seeing him and thinking “wtf”. Hopefully CDPR will add more cyberware so you can kit yourself out to look like Adam with some pretty powerful gear at the expense of some debuffs or something.
I was hoping they would've made V like Adam Jenson just stuff them full of augs
I kinda hope with the free or even the paid dlc we get a shit load of cosmetic cybernetics. I really want to add a chrome arm or completely alter how my neck looks similarly to Takemura.
Hopefully CDPR can do something like that because our cyberware is cool and all but almost none of it is stylish
That might not be possible for v to have that much cybernetics they would have cyber psychosis because adam does it he was just psychopath before he had cyber psychosis so it doesnt really affect that much compared to other psychos

@@finleynicholas8534 I see exactly where you’re coming from. I think cyberpsychosis would be a pretty cool mechanic to implement. Maybe you can add a lot of cyberware but get some debuffs or something, plus cyberpsychosis would really suit the RP of an evil character imo
I find it amazing how David with insane gear can't beat smasher and yet V with absolutely no implants and no weapons can beat smasher in 5 minutes

To be able to beat Adam smasher that fast and easily , u need to be max leveled and thats lorewise like no much different than Adam smasher, but he is just more of a tank with legs

Gameplay logic and CDred getting his power wrong. In comparison David took out several maxtac squads and a full army and smasher makes short work of him only because he decided to. Edgerunners was cdred’s response to this

Apparently, if you have the right mods equipped, you can scan him and it will tell you that he has detected you. I’ve seen some people saying he doesn’t just kill you because he finds it amusing.

I've seen him in Edgerunners and I know he pretty much peaked there, but I absolutely love every scene he's in during Act 1. The intimidating presence he gives off and the sheer panic Jackie and V have when he lands in front of them is great

After you loot his body you get the access code for a legendary case in the Ebunike. It gives you a crafting spec for an iconic smart shotgun

I love the fact that you keep running into him throughout the story and most of the the time you just see glimpses of his ferocity and malice through whispers or rumours of what he’s done. That and his sheer monstrous physical size in comparison to other characters makes him almost like a ghost story, one that you never wish to find any truth to.
I knew at some point I’d have to fight him, and the tension built waiting to be sideswiped by him at some point became terrifying to me, because I had no idea how I could stop him in my first play through. He was a literal monster

just so you know. in the second scene with jackie, if you you have the optic upgrade that allows you to highlight people if they detect you. smasher will glow red as soon as he enters the room, and only loses his highlight as he leaves. he has seen you that entire time and has been staring at you that entire time. that was absolutly terrifying when i experienced this first hand
First time I saw the dude walking out of the elevator a sense of dread came over me. Adam is as menacing of an enemy that you’ll find in any game.

Notice when Adam Smasher comes into the room where you break into, and your hiding in the pillar, he is just looking at you the whole time, cause he knows your there.
Fun fact! if you get the augment that highlights enemies that can see you, during the heist, while youre hiding with Jackie, Adam can see you the entire time.

Smasher isn't that strong in the lore either. I mean, he is still pretty much the second strongest character, but his stats isn't that far from other top tier characters, including Rouge.

SPOILERS: Good Lord some of the scenes with this dude... Doesn't get more psychotic than screaming "FUCKING MEAT!" and deleting Saul's head with his boot heel.
In my time playing video games, Adam Smasher has to be one of the spookiest characters ever. I believe the parallels to Robocop in how disfigured he became is what makes him so scary. At some point, Adam was a troubled kid, only to be not only disfigured through the body, but also the mind. Truly a horrifying reality that he loves to be just a brain in a mech body.

it makes actually 0 sense that v can defeat smasher. dude has like 80 years of experience, the best technology money can buy and is a completely remorseless psychopath, while v is doing merc stuff for half a year and has some shitty back ally cyberware. think i'm leaving him alive in the future so i can pretend it never happened.
