Nice job on the 12V setup. Started making notes for my CamperVan build, gonna do a old Chevy/Ford Utility van so I can tow to the race track and then stay in the van when I'm there.

Just remember 50% discharge only on those AGM batteries if you want them to last any more than a few discharge cycles. Lithium’s can safely go to 90% without shortening their lives. The equivalent lithium for that pack is a 100A/Hr battery at probably a third of the weight. When you upgrade, because you will, the Redarc should do lithium batteries OK.
Seen quite a few reviews doing the actual capacity tests on these lead acid "Camping" batteries, none of them meet spec - especially if you're in cold weather, some are less than half rated capacity. It's a giant ripoff.
@@theskidfactory 5 of these batteries at $99 is $500. You can get a Lithium for that, you don't have to pay 3 times the price. And you only need 75-80AH to equal your 130AH AGMs.

Compressor not the most necessary, but it could be useful in its own way for adding "on-demand" boost.. o.O Use turbo for compressed air if even possible.. Instead of Nitro, Turbo & Superchargers, how about just hooking up compressed air as a form of "forced induction"? Use it only when needed on N/A engine, like Nitro.. Twin Charging probably best for 4x4 since you aren't reaching mach speeds... or even just a supercharger 😋 Ryobi has a small battery powered compressor.. If minimizing enough you could just put a mattress in the back and keep out the folding seats then carry a kayak/canoe on top. Might be useful to learn how to weld using 2 batteries, I am sure AL knows what I am talking about... 4x4 quads have something called a "Tigers Tail" for pulling other quads out of the mud. It is a retracting tow rope on the back of your rig, they may make ones that fit 4x4 trucks... Lghts up high allow you to see better over crests as you can see in Rally Races at night.. Getting locking differentials can make all the difference too Bigger Tires, Brakes & Suspension.. If using Bigger Wheels then Bigger Brakes are essential, especially if adding extra weight.. smaller lifts better than large ones..
The bicycle floor pump will overheat and start melting parts before you pumped enough air to inflate a truck tire. Even if it didn’t that’s a whole lot of work to maybe air up 1 tire. You can use compressed air as forced induction, but it requires a large tank and some way to regulate the flow into the engine. Just a little compressor doesn’t flow enough to make any extra power for an engine.

The reason the secondary batteries last that long is because they're deep cycle. Designed to have a fairly constant draw for a long time, whereas the battery in the engine bay is a starter battery. Those are designed to deliver peak power for short bursts.

Not sure I'm a fan of carrying around all of the weight of the tent, batteries and pumps for daily use but I'm also unlikely to take myself off camping on the way home from work one Friday night. My wife wouldn't be pleased, especially given that I work from home.
a good product for sealing holes in your roof is Wurth dab off . apply more than you need the use a ball of the sealer to dab on the excess that squeezes out to clean it up . this is proven as we use at work on fire trucks.
It was good to see woody take to a project and do most of the work
He always does most of the work on his cars, always has. I just help him.
Loving the overlanding content recently!
If Al is going to be building a camper trailer, that would be a fun project to watch!
I already have a Lifestyle Campers Off Road boss. Awesome thing.
Two tone paint? Hell yeah!
Love the 10/4 rubber ducky!!!
After all the hard work and great episode's it's nice to see you guys working on your own Riggs.
Sound deadening the rear box will be good for the ears when your compressor turns on, and also do the door skins :) Love the videos! Paj's are so underrated, Ya typical Toyota fan boy will be giving you dislikes cause their value for money, perfectly engineered and never over GVM Landcruiser's have no issues at all.. PLEASE.
Great work Woody, I’ve built a few 4WD rigs and it looks as though you thought/planned and fitted it all quite well. Might just be I haven’t worked on Pajeros but needing to drop the headlining to remove the factory racks is a bit of a pain but all cars have their quirks
Pajero looks great keep up the fun videos
Not bad on the 12v Woody! Good stuff!
Love the basic 12v set up nothing super fancy
Love that Parks Auto koosie from SC
Looks like Kenilworth homestead Woody... good spot for kids and can ride the bikes down the road 👌👌 pretty sure I saw you driving on morayfield Rd the other day as well 😜
I decide to put the awning on passenger side (driver side at US). This way , when reaching stuff in the trunk you don’t have to go around your back door. When heavy rain, this was key…
The reason the secondary batteries last that long is because they're deep cycle. Designed to have a fairly constant draw for a long time, whereas the battery in the engine bay is a starter battery. Those are designed to deliver peak power for short bursts.
