Love the interaction between you & Ray ☺️ My absolute fav is with her hair in the sun but her face in the shade. That graffiti background w her white dress was popping 🔥
My passion is shooting in 💯 natural light! I was a pro photos 10+ years with my Canon and worked with models and magazines, then switched to iPhone 15 Pro Max and still shoot (mostly) the same except now I also work in still life (my home studio) for my gallery shots. I love the fact that you do open shade with natural light! I think that is a hard craft to master but so well worth it in the end and far too many photographers either can’t do that or look down on it… shame isn’t it! I subscribed to your channel and requested all so I can keep up! Excellent work! Keep it up! If you’re ever in Key West Florida please hit me up for some truly amazing places to shoot! Take care! 😊
Great content. Great video. You are going to be getting millions of views per video very soon. Keep making this great content. This channel is currently underrated.
Wow, just amazing shots. Thanks for sharing this video. I love photographers who break the rules with regards to lighting. I learned a lot from watching your video.
I just found your channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. If you could share with us some of your camera settings during your shots on next BTS. I certainly would appreciate it. I get at times overwhelmed wanting to get the best photos for family and friends. I’m not a professional, just starting to enjoy photography. Thank you again for this channel. Subscribed 👍🏼
My settings don’t affect your photos. Camera settings are situational. So me shooting at this exposure means nothing when someone else is shooting. Learn your camera. Learn exposure. Learn how to make photographs that speak without words. Shoot aperture priority. Learn what the perfect exposure looks like and how to achieve it. I’ll be making a beginner playlist soon. Subscribe.
Thanks for sharing this. It's great to see such lovely images coming from using natural light. If you don't mind, may you share your aperture and iso settings, and why you chose them? Also, do you plan the poses ahead of time for such outdoor shoots, or does the location determine the pose you instruct your subject?
great video men! Very educational. I would perhaps suggest inserting the photos you liked during the POV, which will appear on the side of the screen or on the whole bot over all great work men!
Very interesting indeed. Appreciate the advice you're giving out. I shoot still life for the most but, so much of what you mentioned can be adapted to other genres.
My God I never gave Open Shade much thought. I usually do Landscape Photography, but I am trying to learn how to take people and this invaluable information is what I'm going to experiment with.
Thank you for this video. She's a great model and I loved the dark alley shots the most. Can I request you to make a vid about, shooting and directing a model as a beginner, thanks.
Hey Steve morning, I have been weaned onto your content over the last couple of months and I must say it is enjoyable insightful and a genuine learning experience. I noticed from the stats at the end of this video that we are shooting with the same equipment. Can I ask you please can you tell me what was your dialled in settings for picture one and picture two, you have mentioned that it’s untouched and I really like the End result and also did you use any kind of indie filter on your lens? Hopefully I haven’t asked you to divulge any of your secret formula and I look forward to your response. Carl
❤. I am subscribed sir. I loved the shot near the stairs with her arms up. Will you by chance ever be making a video on reflections? I want to go all in with it but it’s a very small style
@@stevecarty I'd love to show you some of my wide angle portraits. I don't have as much experience as you do but I extremely love working with my 14mm. I used to take portraits with 105mm f1.4 exclusively though 😅
i get that. i tried something new. i kept the info coming the entire video with a payoff at the end... i adapt, change things up and take all the feedback i get
appreciate you @@RAMTEID thanks for becoming a member as well! please start submitting again! connect your youtube account ot my discord through disord settings... submission folders will appear... also emotes in comments!!
@@stevecarty thank you for that tip. I honestly didnt think about that. The one thing im lacking is a studio light. I have a back drop just not bright enough lights. I learned some thing when i worked at a studio
@@premeviews Because you already have lights on hand, start working on lighting with the lights you have. Even low power continuous lights are good enough to learn lighting patterns and how you prefer to light your subjects. As you get more comfortable setting up, lighting, and transitioning through looks, buy more powerful lights and keep growing. One other thing to mention, purchase at least one 5-in-1 reflector for modifying the light as it is an inexpensive addition for creating the best light in various settings.
You must be new. I could make a whole video on letting subjects do what THEY want. Look at what I shoot SteveCarty.com/archive image I pose every single image for 34 years. But you’re right. Let models do whatever they want. You’ll likely not look but that’s ok. At least watch me shoot a model in studio. ruclips.net/video/XuuniBtesWA/видео.htmlsi=9Ltysppr9pliHlU-
you're hilarious. please have a look at my 30yr career stevecarty.com .. this video is about natural light. not everyone can afford strobes. i have 4 heads. but that's not what this video is about. please have a look at who you're speaking to before talking out of your ear. it just makes you look foolish. i bet you i have more skills than you do kenneth.

No need for that. My settings don’t help you. Shoot aperture priority. No higher than iso 1000 and use a 50mm

Not likely. But maybe join my discord and explain the idea a bit more
That location with stairs would makes an incredible photo with 24mm or even a 14mm
Wide isn’t great for people. I’ve been doing this for 3 decades. Wide isn’t flattering for faces. It’s why we shoot with 50mm and up

What photo editing apps do you mainly use? As of right now I use Lightroom and Photoshop.
Same
In the open shade, what will be the white balance setting, has to be Shade?
Cloudy, shade, it lives in and around there.
great video! I would like to see a snapshot of the images during the video, as I found myself wanting to skip to the end to see the end results.

I love shooting natural light. Im not gonna lie i dont like shooting in studio unless its necessary

I’d let the model try a few of her poses, must get annoying to constantly get told what to do….
