I watched a video of her explaining the music video. She says the concept is kind of being in between dream and reality, with a hint of fantasy. She says that when you dream everything kind of doesn't really make sense you'll have snippets of one scene, then snippets of something else and you can't quite grasp what's going on but the feelings are vivid. I interpreted this as her feelings in a relationships - especially a messy one - where you keep wanting more but things don't make a lot of sense but the lust and passion are the feeling driving you forward. I feel like that's how I linked it in relation to RM's verse where he says "you don't need to be mine" and Soyoon's "I know you'll be right back". Soyoon also explained that "Smoke Sprite" refers to when a cartoon character just kind of 'poofs' away in smoke. I linked this idea to how the relationship feels like a dream/fantasy and how cartoons are fantastical and not a true portrayal of reality.
SoYoon is part of the rock band Se Seo Neon! In her solo works she explores more her soul/rnb roots but from what I hear she is a bit considered the new face of rock in Korea! Amazing guitarist Smoke sprite is about the contrast between dream and reality of a relationship, the video is random and cut a bit like in a dream, lots of rotations like the passage from reality to dream etc... A sprite is a bit like a fairy, smoke sprite is that screen of smoke of fairy dust that represents that entry in the world of dreams, and lots of call back to the fantasy world in the visuals too

And don't worry, I don't think the MV is meant to be something easily understood or understood at all :D But here's what Soyoon said about the song in an interview with Eric Nam - "Smoke sprite" is... When you watch a cartoon, especially in American cartoons, people disappear when something explodes. They call that a smoke sprite. [...] The song is about love that's taking place in a dream. Subconsciously. Desire. Love. It's a story about things that you cannot grasp like a fog. So, I used the smoke sprite as a visual metaphor for that idea." And about the MV - "I told you it's about a dream. So, the music video is also about a dream because... A dream is always separated and fragmented, right? That's why I was wearing a tank top on a snowy field. There was a scene like that. And the arrow... There are elements of fantasy, right? I play two characters. One of them aims at the other. The other is pierced by the arrow.. It's somewhat... You desire someone, and it shows up as a metaphor in your subconscious. It's a music video that shows them in individual and separate clips."

So Yoon is an all-around entertainer who produces and plays songs and Musical instrument plays well. The electric guitar sound in the back part was probably what she played !!
The song is amazing!! But no worries the visuals w/o context are difficult to understand. So Yoon is considered the new face of rock in Korea, but she explained in an interview that she doesn't consider herself a Rockstar, she she just makes music she wants to make basically, which honestly aligns so well with Namjoon's philosophy on music, so it is no surprise to me that he wanted to do this song with SoYoon. They worked on the song together, it was true collaboration where they exchanged ideas and came up with the lyrics together. SoYoon said she has been working on the song for a while but the lyrics were all just gibberish and when she met Namjoon (he was working on Indigo at the time) they kind of exchanged music and Namjoon really liked the song and asked if she wanted to work with him and that's pretty much how it went. SoYoon also said that for this song writing English lyrics made more sense as she felt the Korean lyrics she tried to write felt forced. But yeh she is super cool, I just found out about her music because of Namjoon but I'm so glad about it, I've been exploring her music and I've been blown away as well. The entire album this song is from is incredible. The theme of the album is LOVE. She goes on to explore different kinds of love, and in the case of Smoke Sprite she mentioned is about the kind of love that can't be grasped no matter how much u want it. So she used the metaphor of a dream in the video to represent that, cuz usually when we dream there's always that something that's out of our grasp. Is why the video feels disjointed and confusing, cuz thats usually how dreams are, fragmented and a lot of times what we see doesn't make sense. Idk if that makes sense. I thought there might have been some effects on her voice, but then I heard a live performance and she sounds just the same. I love the 70s sound it starts off with and the distorted guitar 🎸and drums 🥁and the overall feeling the song gives. I had no idea who he was, but watched one of his music videos randomly out of curiosity a few weeks ago when it came up on RUclips and my mind was blown, left absolutely speechless. I saw a couple of people suggest a reaction to him on your last NF video. I can understand why he was reccommended there as there are some similarities, but he is also really different and unique. In terms of music / artists that I know you like, I could maybe describe him as some sort of hybrid between NF and Twenty one Pilots, for the rap style, lyrics and versatility but that still doesn't capture him. Since watching that MV I have heard a number of his songs and don't think I've heard one I disliked yet. I mentioned 'artist' above as he is a rapper and singer, plays several instruments, his songs/raps have brilliant lyrics, hes really creative and incredibly talented an amazing storyteller and clearly has some stories to tell. He's also really dynamic and has music across a variety of different genres. If you havnt heard him yet you absolutely must.
