While I'm aware being socially inept isn't a requirement for ASD, it's a strong indicator... And I'm genuinely not sure where all these RUclipsrs are seeing ASD in otherwise very social characters. I'm not too familiar with SvtFOE, but there are videos claiming Mabel Pines has ASD, which I can't help but doubt. She seems rather socially intelligent. Enough to the point the writers damn well didn't intend her to be on the spectrum.
I remember watching Star Vs in high school but feeling really guilty about watching it even though I related so heavily to Star. I watched it again a few months ago, now realizing I had initially turned it away because I felt ashamed of who I was and who I was trying to hide, but now I can proudly be myself 🥰

I saw her as having ADHD but as I watched this video I realized that me & Star have a lot of similarities, even though she’s more hyperactive than I am. I guess this is proof that not all Autistics act the same, even if they have similar traits
Im really glad that Star is neurodivergemt coded It shows the spectrum of neurodivegency. She's confident, extroverted and brave also very affectionate. ^^ It appeal to the audience that not every autistick person has to be introverted genius and antisocial

Stimming is a simpler way of saying self stimulator behavior, which is basically a repetitive movement for the purpose of self soothing. Common ones include hand flapping, spinning, rocking, fidgeting, bouncing, and many many more. All humans stim but autistic people tend to do it a whole lot more and it's very uncomfortable (or in some cases impossible) for them to stop. It's a way for them to express themselves, deal with overstimulation, and deal with emotions, which can often be overwhelming for autistic people.
Also just to add Autism is not something one has, its something one is. I am Autistic, I am an Autistic Person. And although some people can identify with Person First , the majority of Autistic People prefer to be refered to as Autistic/Autistic People, otherwise known as Identity First.
The main reason for this is Autism is NOT a disease or defect and most Autistic People do not like our existance being compared to a "disease," or "defect,"

seconding what OP says, yeah thats why its called a headcannon. who cares if some autists relate to her and want to think that? I am autistic and I say she 100% is. big deal.
I mean no disrespect to you, and I believe whole heartedly that you are entitled to your own opinion. However, some opinions are better kept to ourselves rather than being shared with the public. First off, for you to even mention autism being linked to genetics (for humor or or not) is not only disrespectful, it is extremely ignorant. When you mentioned examples, you completely omitted that everyone in this show has there own idiosyncrasies. Star was meant to be quirky and stand out, and be different, but not because she was neurodivergent. The evidence that you’re citing to head cannon Star is unsubstantiated and occurs infrequently. Your palilalia example was wrong. Star’s repetitions are 100% intentional, rather than involuntary (which is palilalia). Everything else you mentioned is a literal stretch. Star had no developmental delays as a child, she has no sensory issues, no trouble with eye contact, no trouble communicating or making new friends, neurotypicals stim as well, and inter-dimensional magical studies are no walk through the park for anyone (especially for a girl who is immature and had no real understanding of the responsibility bestowed upon her). As a neurodivergent myself, I ask that you please stop diminishing what it means to be autistic by making autism appear to only be quirkiness, “weird behavior” in general, and social awkwardness. There is so much more to being on the spectrum. That new Disney show the ghost and molly McGhee will be including CANNON autistic representation (confirmed by the creator and the show’s official Twitter). I highly recommend you tune in.
@@lilystray2049 Because, to put it simply, it isn't. There have been little to no studies linking autism to genetics. The real question should be why do you connect autism to genetics? Even though it's been proven not to be a genetic disorder. Everyone who has a good understanding of autism knows that it is a spectrum, but this does not excuse spreading misinformation about autism. Just because Star has a couple of idiosyncrasies or is "quirky," doesn't make her autistic. As the autistic community, we should not have to guess just to get the representation that we deserve. We deserve better.
