I really understand the whole point of not shaving because of what other people think. To be honest the only reason I shave my legs if for the feeling of freshly shaved legs on clean bed sheets 😂
😂 very true! My motto through life is 'do what serves you and leave what doesn't' we're always changing and evolving. Also that's my main drive for shaving too 😂 nothing beats that feeling!!!
Same!! and i just love to feel that I'm not letting myself go. When I would not shave, it was when i was depressed, so not forgetting to shave always puts me in a good mood.
Glad I’m not the only one. I couldn’t care less about my leg hair and often go out in shorts with my hairy legs if I didn’t have time to shave, but I do usually shave because everything just feels better on smooth skin. My sheets, my pants everything feels like silk on freshly shaven legs 😂
I’ve seen a lot of zero wasters mention the safety razor but I’ve always been so scared!! So thank you so so much for doing a demonstration you’ve made me feel a lot better about moving to a a safety razor! I don’t know if you mentioned it but I live how you can simply pop them in the recycling and there’s no waste! 💚
My pleasure lovely! They are pretty much exactly the same as using a normal razor, the only difference is you don't need much pressure and you have to change the blade yourself, i'm glad my video helped you to see they aren't as scary as they seem. 😊 Also, it's so awesome that the blades can be recycled isn't it! Thank you for your lovely comment 🤗❤️
Living the life you love That’s so helpful! I really look forward to your videos they are so informative and inspirational! You are my favourite RUclipsr ☺️💚
I didn't buy a new one. I'm using the one my grandfather bought at least 30 years ago XD just to give you a little taste on how long this will last you ;-) ask your grandfathers! :-)
Hi Kay, I've been transitioning to a low impact lifestyle for the past several years. Thank you for such an empowering video. I purchased my last package of disposable razors about 3 years ago. As a woman who rarely shaves, I've been growing more and more frustrated with what to replace disposables with as my supply dwindles. Now I feel confident that I can make the switch to a safety razor.
* I mention composting the blades in the video but no longer recommend this, please collect them in a small pot and take them to your local recycling centre instead as this is much safer * Today we’re getting personal and I’m sharing parts of my body I never thought I would share up close on the internet… 🙈😂! I wanted to show you that using a safety razor isn’t scary at all and to be honest it’s not much different to using a normal old razor. I hope this helps and that it inspires you to make the switch if you haven't already. Hope you're all having an awesome day! 🌞 Kay x
I like that you actually showed how you shave your underarms because that's the area I'm most nervous about shaving with my new safety razor. I get why people don't want to shave due to social pressure but people shave for all sorts of reasons. I'm extremely sensitive to any sort of physical pressure on my body and I shave my underarms because the hair (regardless of length) makes me itchy or in summer causes chafing. I also shave in summer because it's so much cooler lol. I find the whole process very meditative and calming, which is a really good thing. I've never shaved due to social pressure, in fact in high school I was bullied because I didn't shave my legs (we had winter uniform skirts). To assume that someone is shaving due to social pressure is very judgmental and unimaginative.
Another great video, Kay! This has been a bit of a nostalgia trip for me because when I started shaving (my face!) back in the mid-Seventies it was a toss-up between a safety razor and an electric shaver - none of the modern plastic cartridge razors of today were around. So I used an old safety razor that had belonged to my dad. In case there are any men watching who are thinking of switching over to DE safety razors, can I add a couple of bits of advice? First, get your shaving water as hot as you can bear it, and soften your beard by pressing a flannel soaked in the hot water against your face for thirty seconds or so before you lather up. And second, use soap, or a proper shaving cream. I use either a readily available Wilkinson's Sword shaving soap, or L'Occitane cream, or a solid L'Occitane olive oil soap, and I lather up with a brush. (If you're vegan, there are some perfectly good synthetic shaving brushes available nowadays; you don't have to go down the badger route). But don't use foams or gels: they're far too thick and gloopy and they clog the razor head and keep the edge of the blade away from your skin. Other than that I think Kay's covered all the angles, as usual. All the best me dear!
Thank you so much Adrian😀 So so thankful for the great advice you've given for other men who might come accross this video! Super happy to hear you use a safety razor too. 🙌🏼
I was sold on my first shave. I'd go years without shaving just because I hated the performance and cost of the multi-blade disposables, but that changed with the safety razor. Now I can enjoy the smooth feeling of a good shave and odor control without the wasteful trash. Seriously though it baffles me that these things are not the norm.
THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! Since I'm a ballerina I have to shave all the time! I got this starting my winter break but didn't know how to use it, and with classes and rehearsals getting closer I was starting to worry about not being able to shave correctly or cut myself while attempting to do so, but now I won't! THANK YOU AGAIN!
I love my safety razor! I actually find it so much easier to use, and have never had razor burn as you don't need to apply loads of pressure, the weight of the head does it all itself! If there was one swap which converted me, it was definitely the safety razor xxx
What type of shaving brush do you use, Victoria? Personally, I'm a badger girl, but I've been known to use a Boar here and there. Happy wet shaving sister! CC
Just FYI for any Americans watching, I found a safety razor with replacement blades at the Dollar Tree for $1!!!! I haven't used it yet so don't know how good the quality is going to be. But I figured, it would be a great way to try it out for cheap.
soccerchamp0511 i got one from a dollar store (not in america) it weighs just about the same but it rusted so maybe its not stainless steel? Another dollar store sold them with metal looking plastic handles that felt really cheap
Thank you for showing us the TMI! It is extremely helpful :) Just got my first safety razor and did the first shave. IT IS AMAZING!!! Really there is no need to be intimidated by it at all; just don't use force, be patient and thats it!
Store your used blades in a beer or soda can which made of metal! When it's full (you can easily fit 100), tape the opening, write "Razor blades, caution" on the box and take it to the recycling bin. It's the safest and most environmentally friendly option.
This is super helpful! I'm brand new to the world of safety razors and have been slowly going lower waste. I'm going to try this for the first time today. Also I just want to say that I love your voice!
Hi Kay, An excellent step by step explanined video well done and thank you. I find that by using a safety razor I only have to shave my legs and armpits etc once a week whereas with the disposables it was every other day. I have bony knees so they are the worst part for a possible razor cut for me but I have found that by just bending the knee the bones dissapear and the razor glides over! I use soap and wet my legs with warm water and like you always moisurise well after shaving. Keep up the good work. You must be getting so excited now as May 12th is getting nearer, we will miss you in the UK though and I hope you will find time to keep in touch with us all! XXX
Thank you so much, i'm really glad you found it helpful 😊 Another way to shave knees it to stand up and straighten your leg completely and glide it straight over, thats the way that works best for me. 😀Thank you hehe yes i'm getting very excited an also terrified ahhaa I still have so much to do before I can leave! 😬😂 I'm definitely going to carry on making videos every week, don't worry 😀❤️
If want a safety razor, but don't like handling the blade so much, be sure to look at all the butterfly/twist-to-open razors out there. Parker, Rockwell, Baili, Weishi etc all have good options.
Thank you so much for this video! 💝 I was really curious how the razor would work. You have such an interesting content on your channel and I'm really happy that I found you! Have a lovely day 🤩
i don’t shave all that often, but i wanted to look into a sorta vintage-y more sustainable option than cartridge or disposable blades, especially bc I’ve got very sensitive skin - thanks for this !
Hey Diane, You should also do your best to get a hold of as many razor blades as you can. That way you can see what best works for you. Also, go crazy when it comes to shaving creams and soaps. I only have two brushes, and that does me just fine. Happy Wet shaving, welcome to the family. CC
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video. I have been thinking about switching to a safety razor after I run out of all of the blade refills that we currently have. (I found a bunch at a local store that sold overstocks. They have since gone out of business) My husband has already switched to an electric razor/trimmer for his face. This was really helpful!
Yay!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it and found it valuable, like you said once you use up all your blade refills it wont be as scary to make the switch. Awesome to hear that your husband has changed to an electric one 😀
I would recommend a safety razor over the cartridge razor any day. For several reasons. Mostly because they give a great shave. And as you mentioned, they are kinder to the environment.
what soap do you use,i purchased a vegan bristle shaving brush from amazon and it makes such a difference .Once you put the soap on your legs if you wet the brush and rub it up and down your leg it makes the soap so frothy you really can use much less soap.Or you can also rub the brush directly on the bar of soap then rub it on your legs it makes the shave so much smoother. hope this helps, love your videos.thank you
I use one I got last year from america from a brand called Chagrin Valley. I've heard great things about the brushes, seems like it's a great option if you like a lot of foam! 😀 Thanks so much for your advice and lovely words
I didn't think I'd be so surprised by how to use it.
But the way you tell and show is really amazing: D it´s so simple and effective :D (and I love your voice, for me the worse thing about RUclips videos is when people in the videos have a bad or annoring voice)
Great video, one of the few benefits of my various medical conditions is that I have very little to no body hair, so I can get away with not shaving but if I ever did have to, would definitely use a stainless steel one, so very practical and low waste. thanks for the demo Kay :) :)
Three more plastic razors to go and then I can get on the bandwagon! It's insane how long its taken me to even begin to see any minimal and ethical changes because of trying to use up everything else! Still I think back on everything I ever owned and everything I am still to use up ashamed that I blindly lived a life along with so many others believing it to be the 'only way'. So many items I have/had were labelled as one thing when, in reality, it could have had 10s maybe even 100s of uses! Does anyone know of any all purpose soaps - from laundry to shampoo - which are available? I am considering soap nuts but I would like to try a solid bar for easier use when travelling. My main concern is keeping my hair and skin hydrated while also not staining my clothes in the wash with natural oils in the soap.... Maybe it can't be done but please let me know if anyone has found an all purpose soap or if soap nuts are easy enough to use while traveling! 💙🐘
Hehehe, awesome to hear Zoe! I know right, it's craaaaazy how much I used to stock pile products because they were on sale and 'cheaper' One thing to remember is to be kind to yourself and realise that life is a journey, we all make mistakes and do things we wish we didn't, but the important thing is that you're changing and becoming more aware each day and also acting upon it which is most powerful of all! Baby steps and together we will get there 😀 Sorry I can't give much advice about the soap but if I ever get more knowledge about it i'll definitely let you know 🙂❤️
I've been looking forward to going more zero waste in terms of toiletries (shampoo and razors really). But it was my birthday last week and guess what my mum bought me... Yep, toiletries! I'm grateful because it's saving me money but also I'm annoyed haha.
Helen B I know exactly what you mean! My mum sends me care packages from time to time and when I'm home I sneak them back into their place! 😂 So for example she'll send me toothbrushes with such good intentions so when I am home again I put them back where she keeps them to save on the amount that she'll buy! She sees me use my bamboo toothbrush and other things and does seem interested so maybe we can make beautiful little zero wast starter kits for our mothers in the future! 😊💙
Jj GB Thanks for the tip! I'm using up very very old bicarb at the moment with tea tree essential oil for my detergent and it actually seems to be working good! I do definitely want to give soap nuts a try though. Also I love your profile picture btw! 😂💙
This was really helpful, thanks! I just bought a safety razor but the trouble is I've never used any razor! My mum had me using hair removal cream from the get go but I decided it was too many plastic bottles (and useless little spatulas). I was quite scared about razor blades full stop haha but you made it look so effortless 😊
This is helpful! I have been thinking about switching to a less wasteful product than the disposables I've been using for years and your video made it seem a lot less dangerous/scary. Also, I really appreciate how you touched on gender norms and body hair removal at the start of your video; normalizing body hair choices and preferences is rarely done in discussions about female grooming products. Thanks for this.
Thank you 😊 I felt it was important to talk about because as you said, not a lot of people do! Also they are so easy to use, I don't even think about it when I use mine now, I just use it like a regular old razor, they look scarier than they actually are 🙌🏼
Thank you for this video! I've just purchased a safety razor and I just realised I don't know how to use them lol. And I actually only shave my under arms so this is the video I've been looking for! Other videos only show shaving on the legs and I was afraid there was something different to do when shaving under arms lol. Great video! thanks again.
Hi ladies, I am a gentleman and I can also recommend this video for you as well if you want to see different techniques. ruclips.net/video/U0wVdMY_nF8/видео.html
I bought myself a safety razor but i promised i would finish using all of my disposable razors before I switched and now that I'm on my last one I'm a little scared but thank you for sharing because its helped ease some of that worry
thanks very much for this, I just took the plunge to buy a safety razor. though it came in a lot of plastic, I'm looking forward to not buying tons of plasticy replacement blades. I was using a philips oneblade & getting lots of shaving bumps.
This video is so very needed. I usually use electric one for legs, but I find this type works better for under arms, so for Christmas I received a safety razor and I'm trying to getting to know it 😅
That's a helpful video! Thank you for sharing! Also I can recommend using an epilator. You can charge it and at the end there is nothing to throw away. Some people say that they feel a lot of pain when they use an epilator, but that's only in the beginning. The longer you continue using it, the easier it gets. :)
Hello! as always a video full of information. You have brought me many memories because my mom had one and this razor and is really not very different (in terms of use) from plastic ones. You are inspiring me to have one, it is a good saving. Have a nivel day, hugs! 💫🤗😊
Another great video Kay - I love my safety razor and my husband James loves his too - we also use soap lather but James has special shaving soap bars which lather up with a brush and produce a lot of lather - but I just use natural unscented normal soap like you - I think if people wanted more lather then the shaving soap dish and brush might be a good fit for them xx
Thank you Lizzie! 😀 They're super easy to use aren't they! Yeah my brother uses the shaving bars with a brush for his face and loves it. I'm like you and I find I get a great shave with just plain old normal soap 😊 xx
I don’t know what I do wrong? My armpits are fine but my legs I just cut constantly and I don’t even realise it’s happening becaus it doesn’t hurt I just bleed 😢
I used one for the first time last night and it didn't do a very good job. The skin underneath feels smooth but my legs are still so prickly :) I thought maybe I was doing something wrong but I did it the same as you
My safety razor is one of the best zero waste swaps I've made. I can't recommend them enough..also the closest shave I've had too. (y) Hope you have a lovely day.
I have sensitive skin. I use disposables- fewer blades cause less irritation. I want to try a safety razor but I'm allergic to stainless steel! Anybody w tissue skin have advice?
All blades will be stainless steel I imagine, including disposable ones! You might be able to find alternatives. There are definitely wooden or plastic handles available for safety razors rather than fully stainless steel - hope that helps 😊
Thank you, I have been thinking of getting one of these for a while but now that I’ve seen how they work I am more confident in doing so! Off topic question, sorry...but what do you use for deodorant? Sorry if you’ve already said before. I am thinking of trying one of those crystal deodorants and just wondered if you’d had any experience with them? x
I'm so happy you found this video helpful! They're really so similar to using a regular razor 😊 I use a crystal deodorant and it works amazing for me, i've been using it for nearly two years now! 😀 I use the salt stick brand xx
Did you know you can use an Alum block for deod. I took one when I went traveling. I was nice, I even used it when I needed to clean up wounds. Just be aware, it does sting, a lot. CC
One thing to add: If one DE blade brand isn't working for you, there are tons of others out there. Pretty much all the blade brands made in St Petersburg, Russia for Gillette are good to great in terms of performance. My current go-to is the Gillette Minora Platinum.
Hi, I do mention that they are compostable, and they are, but they do take a long time to de-compose. Recycling is a much better option. I realised this after filming the video. 😊
Still freaks me out a bit, im pretty sure I'd end up cutting myself! Great video though! I'm not brave enough to try one yet, but tbh I shave less than once a month! Omg what about intimate areas though??? How did you find doing them? More risky then normal razors?
It's literally the same as using a normal razor 🙂 I've had no issues with it at all even shaving intimate areas. Give it a go - you won't regret it! They look scarier than they actually are haha plus there's only one blade - most conventional razors have 2+!
You’re video is really good. I just got one of these babies because I’m tired of always buying razors. I found it in the men’s care isle of my grocery store. Lol. I’m gonna get this for everyone in my fam come Christmas.
I ordered my razor and blades the blades have come I brought them off e-bay the box colour is different to your the blades are very thin and feather light.what are your like? Help scared to use just in case there counterfeit ones
Mine are super thin and light too, I shouldn't worry too much. Have you had a look at the reviews from other people who have bought from them? 😊 If it's the same brand they could have just changed the packaging, just pop them in your razor and give it a go 😊 Just make sure to use light pressure and use it as you would a regular razor xx
I just tried my brand new safety razor for my first time and had a traumatic experience. I have razor burn and blood was running all down my leg even tho I didn't cut myself. I'm not sure where I went wrong. Maybe I used to much pressure
😱 did you do it in the shower or bath with soap? It helps if you’ve been under hot water to soften your pores. Was it a new blade? That shouldn’t ever happen! I’d say definitely too much pressure or wrong angle x
Ma'am I'm an older man and I believe everyone has the right. To tend and groom their bodies as they see fit. With this said I refuse to be in a relationship with a woman. Who doesn't shave her legs or underarms I don't expect her to shave her pubic hair because it helps her keep things out that can cause her. A bunch of grief and ailments It creeps me out to see a woman that has hair on her legs and underarms longer and thicker than mine. God bless you and your family
Well I just used one of these for the first time (found it at Woolies for any Aussies out there), I was nervous but it was so unnecessary, I did all the scary places like the ankles, back of the knee, underarms etc and I had no problem at all, I didn't need to go very slow either, I even pushed down a bit to see if I would nick myself but nope! So easy, safe and great result. Bye bye shitty plastic razors!
SO glad you said this as lots of people are very worried about them but they are literally the same as a normal razor aren't they! 😀 So glad you took the chance and thank you for swapping to plastic free 💃🏼
Some people say it is but i've hardly ever cut myself with it (no more than a normal razor), the only time I have is if i'm rushing. The only difference is you don't need to press on when shaving. 😊
Anyone else absolutely terrified to use one of these I have asked for on for Christmas but i cut myself with a disposable razor let alone this so I am super scared but fingers crossed 🤞 I get along well with it
Yes! I looking into switching once I use up my cartridges. But I have this weird fear that I'm going to end up slicing myself and bleeding everywhere. This video makes it look less scary though!
I don’t really understand why people are intimidated by this? It is basically just a stainless steel bodied razor rather than plastic. Not meant to be disrespectful but anyone want to explain the hesitation? I only just learned about them but I am thinking of switching once my current razor is used up.
I remember back then when i was first used a saftey razor i cut a chunk of skin on my leg one near may ankle and one on the center of my legs it was one of the worst day for me ._.

Love that feeling!
Can I just say that I appreciate you actually shaving off hair? Not like the typical razor ads where they „shave“ a perfectly smooth armpit...

You shouldn't recycle things that might have come in contact with blood
They go into little bins for sharps
@@missbeaussie I'm sure they sterilise them

soccerchamp0511 me too! I just got one yesterday 😂😭 it was a “what the hell🤷🏽♀️” choice
It might be good but if you get a pricier one (30/40 USD) it will be weighted properly and give a better experience.

i don’t shave all that often, but i wanted to look into a sorta vintage-y more sustainable option than cartridge or disposable blades, especially bc I’ve got very sensitive skin - thanks for this !
Great video.I bought a safety razor and have been too nervous to try it -but this really helped.
Thank you, hehe i'm so glad! Honestly it's exactly the same as using a normal razor, you just don't need to apply any pressure 😊❤️
Hey Diane,
You should also do your best to get a hold of as many razor blades as you can. That way you can see what best works for you. Also, go crazy when it comes to shaving creams and soaps. I only have two brushes, and that does me just fine.
Happy Wet shaving, welcome to the family.

He finds it to be faster and easier as well so that's a plus!
I love your disclaimer! It never even occurred to me to shave for 'society'! I itch when my legs aren't shaved, so it's a very personal priority!
But the way you tell and show is really amazing: D
it´s so simple and effective
:D
(and I love your voice, for me the worse thing about RUclips videos is when people in the videos have a bad or annoring voice)
Great video, one of the few benefits of my various medical conditions is that I have very little to no body hair, so I can get away with not shaving but if I ever did have to, would definitely use a stainless steel one, so very practical and low waste. thanks for the demo Kay :) :)
I love the positive mindset you have, it's super inspiring ❤️ I'm happy you enjoyed the video lovely xx
Thanks Kay :) :)
Zoé Just an FYI: I love soap nuts. That said they have their quirks, you will end up with bits in your washer and dryer.
Love the video. I have a mole on my underarm though. How do I shave without cutting it?
Same! Any suggestions?
You have to go around it. Cutting them is generally a bad idea. Small strokes around it is your best bet
Hehe the same thing happened to me! I wondered the same thing about people only showing legs so i'm happy you found this helpful 🙂🤗
Same here, I needed an arms video! Loved it!
Hi ladies, I am a gentleman and I can also recommend this video for you as well if you want to see different techniques.
ruclips.net/video/U0wVdMY_nF8/видео.html
Thank you for this, I am a newbie and was nervous. I think I’m brave enough now to try!
I usually use electric one for legs, but I find this type works better for under arms, so for Christmas I received a safety razor and I'm trying to getting to know it 😅
Thank you!!! This is super helpful to this scary potato that wants to shave and make less waste!!! 🥰
Thank you ! I just got one and has no idea how to put the blade in.
That's a helpful video! Thank you for sharing! Also I can recommend using an epilator. You can charge it and at the end there is nothing to throw away. Some people say that they feel a lot of pain when they use an epilator, but that's only in the beginning. The longer you continue using it, the easier it gets. :)
Ooh yeah i've heard good things about epilators but i've never used one myself, so glad you like using it! 😀
Do you find your epilator easy to use on your legs? I can never get a hang of it, do you have any tips?

Hello! as always a video full of information. You have brought me many memories because my mom had one and this razor and is really not very different (in terms of use) from plastic ones. You are inspiring me to have one, it is a good saving. Have a nivel day, hugs! 💫🤗😊
Thank you so much, really happy you enjoyed it and I brought you good memories. Hope you're having a beautiful day ❤️
Does it remove hair if it's short? I keep mine short anyhow but this blade won't touch my little hairs
Could you add more than one blade?
thx for this video! I've been looking for a more comprehensive guide to shaving, as this is my first safety razor.
You have convinced me! Very thorough video :)
Yay! Thank you, i'm so glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼
West Coast Shaving has amazing products if you live in the USA. I hope you have an amazing shave.

This was such a helpful video, I now don't feel as intimidated about safety razors. I think I will get one when I have run out of razor heads
I'm so so happy you found it valuable, thank you for your kind words! 😀❤️
You can buy vintage safety razors for even cheaper than a lot of new ones, yet still working great. This is even more environmentally friendly.
Good video much more straight forward than others ive watched
Thank you, so happy you found it helpful 🙂
Tha m you! I was super nervous using this razor.. I made two super small cuts but otherwise very smooth and I love the plant so 🤗
Another great video Kay - I love my safety razor and my husband James loves his too - we also use soap lather but James has special shaving soap bars which lather up with a brush and produce a lot of lather - but I just use natural unscented normal soap like you - I think if people wanted more lather then the shaving soap dish and brush might be a good fit for them xx
Thank you Lizzie! 😀 They're super easy to use aren't they! Yeah my brother uses the shaving bars with a brush for his face and loves it. I'm like you and I find I get a great shave with just plain old normal soap 😊 xx
can you also use shaving gel when using a safety razor?
Nice video.. You didn't do a clean up and storage of the razor tho, do I need to open the thing up to pat dry?
I don’t know what I do wrong? My armpits are fine but my legs I just cut constantly and I don’t even realise it’s happening becaus it doesn’t hurt I just bleed 😢
Thanks for this video! I just bought a safety razor and wasn't sure on how to use it! :)
Very helpful! I appreciate the detail and demo. Thanks!
My pleasure, glad it helped! 🙂
I used one for the first time last night and it didn't do a very good job. The skin underneath feels smooth but my legs are still so prickly :) I thought maybe I was doing something wrong but I did it the same as you
How do you know when to change it I usually shave every week or so ?
Thanks! I already bought it but didn’t know how to use it ☺️
I have very bony shins, and cut myself really easily with any razor, it gets horribly messy. Any tips?
You can dispose of the used blades in the food compost, do you mean?
No
I love mine for the legs, but the armpits were a nightmare. So i am watching a video for help.
Thank you! Your video has been very helpfull!
My safety razor is one of the best zero waste swaps I've made. I can't recommend them enough..also the closest shave I've had too. (y) Hope you have a lovely day.
Totally agree! They're so awesome aren't they, I couldn't believe how smooth my legs were the first time I used mine! 🙌🏼
@@Livingthelifeyoulove there are titanium disposable blades, I'll look online for nickel-free safety razors
Litterly I just added both that exact safety razor and razors to my amazon cart and then I found this video one second after
Shaving part starts @6:30
Thank you, I have been thinking of getting one of these for a while but now that I’ve seen how they work I am more confident in doing so! Off topic question, sorry...but what do you use for deodorant? Sorry if you’ve already said before. I am thinking of trying one of those crystal deodorants and just wondered if you’d had any experience with them? x
I'm so happy you found this video helpful! They're really so similar to using a regular razor 😊 I use a crystal deodorant and it works amazing for me, i've been using it for nearly two years now! 😀 I use the salt stick brand xx
Thank you, I will give that a try too then 😊
Did you know you can use an Alum block for deod. I took one when I went traveling. I was nice, I even used it when I needed to clean up wounds. Just be aware, it does sting, a lot.

Thank you so much for this. Very informative
One thing to add: If one DE blade brand isn't working for you, there are tons of others out there. Pretty much all the blade brands made in St Petersburg, Russia for Gillette are good to great in terms of performance. My current go-to is the Gillette Minora Platinum.
How....are they compostable... ?? I want to understand!!
Hi, I do mention that they are compostable, and they are, but they do take a long time to de-compose. Recycling is a much better option. I realised this after filming the video. 😊
Living the life you love they scare me so much haha. But plastic free living, you know..
I used one for the first time yesterday and only got the tiniest Nick, I cut myself more with a fresh regular razor
You’re video is really good. I just got one of these babies because I’m tired of always buying razors. I found it in the men’s care isle of my grocery store. Lol. I’m gonna get this for everyone in my fam come Christmas.
Yay! So happy you bought one and are enjoying it 💃🏼
I am. It’s been great so far. Thanks for the vid on how to use one I was totally lost.
Can people recommend their favourite safety razors?? It’s my first one. I’m just starting. Not sure what to get! Thanks
Hey 😊 I use the Merkur 23C Long Handle Safety Razor, the link to it is in the description box
really enjoyed your video thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for your kind words ❤️
Is there a specific type of saftey razor you should look for when shaving your legs? Or is any saftey razor okay?
A long handled one will make it easier for you but other than that any safety razor will work just fine. 😊
Thank you!
Who else just got a safety razor and is binge watching? lol
Excellent! Super helpful, thank you!
Yay! No worries, if you have any questions or worries just drop me a message 😊
What a nice video and a sweet person
Thank you so much, I want to get this too :)
So happy you enjoyed it! 🙂
Thank you so so much for this video!!! ♥
Is there a link for a good safety razor which isnt too expensive?
Absolutely! This is the one I use amzn.to/2DfLOL5 I've had it nearly 2 years now and it still looks brand new. So worth the investment 😃
😀 So glad you took the chance and thank you for swapping to plastic free 💃🏼
where Is That wall hanging kinda thing from ?
It's from amazon, here's the link 😊 amzn.to/2p2i3rK
what do you do when you need to travel with your razor?
I have a little canvas bag that I put it in and put it into my checked luggage 😊
Is it easier to cut yourself with a saftey razor than a normal women's razor? I'm a little nervous to start shaving my legs with one.
Some people say it is but i've hardly ever cut myself with it (no more than a normal razor), the only time I have is if i'm rushing. The only difference is you don't need to press on when shaving. 😊
Oh ok! Thank you!
I really want to eventually shave w/ a straight razor, but I feel like a safety razor is a good place to start
Thank you very much!!
Thanks for the video I appriciate it.
No worries, so happy you found it helpful 😀
Thank you 💜
I don’t really understand why people are intimidated by this? It is basically just a stainless steel bodied razor rather than plastic. Not meant to be disrespectful but anyone want to explain the hesitation? I only just learned about them but I am thinking of switching once my current razor is used up.
Thanks x
How do you clean a safety razor?
Just in water
you are amazing!
Awww thank you so much! 😀
I remember back then when i was first used a saftey razor i cut a chunk of skin on my leg one near may ankle and one on the center of my legs it was one of the worst day for me ._.
Eeeek! Yes you don't need to use as much pressure as a normal razor!
You can COMPOST then? OMG❤️
How?👀
I don't recommend composting them anymore. Please read my pinned comment, you're better off recycling them x
Like fuck I’m shaving my entire body with that
😂
