Hi Melissa, thank you for being comfortable to share parts of your life with us. Maddie and Mackenzie were always two of my favorite dancers. I loved how they brought so much emotion and personality to the stage. It's amazing yet crazy to see how far life has come. Lol. It feels like it was just yesterday where I was in my room trying to find as many of their songs and try my best to replicate their beautiful technique. I found a true love for dance. Though I was never able to join the dancing world, it's a beautiful art that gave me hope as a kid. It definitely helped draw me closer to God as well. That said, I pray that the love for dance remains with you and your girls forevermore. Praying for you and your family, always.

I would for you to talk about how your style evolved. During the first season, I definitely think you gave off “plain housewife” (which is obviously sort of what you were before you were famous) but over time I saw you and other cast members adjust how you dress. It would be fun to hear you talk about how/why you changed your style!

Hi Melissa, great video! You seem to approach these questions with grace and maturity. I think it leaves a good taste in everyone's mouth about your experience on the show, but to confirm... Do you and your girls now have more fond memories of Abby and the show or is it a little more traumatic than anything?
When I was younger, watching Maddie on dance mom's taught me the beauty of artistry and I made the Senior Dance Company in middle and high school because of it. So she really has impacted my life in such a positive way. Yet, on my company I've had experiences with teachers and girls that have both drawn me closer to it and pushed me away at times. So I know what it's like to have a complex relationship with dance at times because of the environment. I sometimes have to navigate my feeling and remind myself of the purpose, the challenges, life lessons, how fun it can be, and the emotion that it evokes just to bring back that passion and feel content with my experiences. Do you guys relate to this feeling at all?
I met you once at the mall of america in like 2016 or something and you were so sweet and kind. We chatted for probably 10 minutes while Maddie was doing her book signing and I will never forget you just taking the time to sit and talk. Thank you for being you ❤️

Hello Melissa! I am officially addicted to dance moms and I swear I am watching it no matter what I do! I loved hearing you answer the questions and what you said at the end about more love than hate in the world really resonated with me. I love your girls and the beautiful women they have grown up to be. Can you tell me more about what was real and and not real on the show becuase I hear so many things and I really want to know from someone who was actually on the show. Also I am a competitive dance right now too and I absolutely loveee watching them dance because it gives me so many ideas for dance. I actually told me dance coach today that I wanted to learn to dance like Maddie over the summer. My sister also loves the show and recently she has been asking me to make up dances for her to dance moms songs and I did one to cry the other day!
