The Spurs have not played at the Alamodome for 20 years, but for their 50th anniversary they have this special event! Spurs fans get to relive their fond memories of the David Robinson era, the beginning of Tim Duncan's hall of fame career, and their first NBA championship!

Another Great Video. We have been one NBA Game, Spurs/Mavericks and several High School Football Games there. There was a hope San Antonio might get an NFL Team when Local Car Dealer Red McCombs owned the Minnesota Vikings. They even played a Pre season game there and we were in town that night. I have also been there for a State Political convention in 1996.

So Dope Dylan...What a awesome video I Love it!! Great history of the Alamodome. It reminded me of the Detroit Pistons when they were at the Pontiac Silverdome and the had the court on the football field I love the old school areas and stadiums. Agree they have great memories and so much fun going to games like that.

Awesome. Yeah I totally remember watching old Suns games when they played SA at the Alamo Dome. Barkley hit the game/series winner at the top of the key in 1993
That was the shot that closed out Hemisfair Arena. Spurs moved to the dome for 93-94.

When my Sonics played in the Kingdome (as well as hosting Final Fours and NCAA West Regional Finals) the sightlines were actually pretty good. Only mistake is they never bothered with a curtain so it felt even more cavernous. The AlamoDome at least somewhat catered to the only Major League team in that market making it semi user friendly.
Man the super dome was huge I remember watching Joey Galloway, Rick Meier, Cortez Kennedy there what a blast it was I truly miss the super dome😥
@@joewhitaker8708 Kingdome..Superdome is in ‘Nawlins..But I hear ya. Miss my season ticket seats there. Were on the 20 Yard Line of the Opponent’s Sidelines 10 Rows up. $10 a game until the end of 1999. In 2000 they put us in those crap bleachers at Fuskie Stadium and raised them to $15. Then when we got to Seahawks Stadium (as it was known until Qwest brought rights to naming) they moved us to the last row in 300 Level in South Endzone and jacked them to $30 a game. Still good seats but kinda sucked going from $100 to $300 for tix and not being under cover.

I don't think having a 325' requirement is a thing for baseball as NYY has 314' SF has 309' and some others have short porches.
This is another good tidbit. Ballparks are able to file exceptions. Yankee Stadium's dimensions are grandfathered in by Old Yankee Stadium, and Oracle Park was necessary due to McCovey Cove which is why we have the 24 foot high arcade to make up for it (24 feet in honor of Willie Mays). But since 1958 all new ballpark construction is supposed to follow that guideline units MLB grants an exception.
