Ryan is not leaving so I'm guessing Eddie will become exclusively a paramedic (he's been doing that for a while to cover for Chimney) and not be a firefighter anymore. That lowers the risk of the job somewhat, although he'd still be a first responder. And judging by what's going on with TK in Lone Star (he made the same switch), I'm guessing Eddie will still find himself in plenty of dangerous situations...
