This should be titled how to make an authentic ristra. I searched four text sites and three other videos to find comprehensive instructions on how to make a ristra. This. . . is how to make an instructional video. Good work Sechler Farms and thank you.
Hi Nathan I don't know if anyone has ever told you this but God has given you the gift of teaching. All of us have a gift and and most more than one but yours is teaching!!! This video is a the instructional, easy to understand! I cant wait to make my ristras! Thank you for helping me! Have a great day! God bless you!
This is, by far, the best video/ instructions i have found for making these! It is so nice to be able to make them the right way! This is my favorite way to dry my chimayos and i watch this guy every year to remember how!
Awesome, thanks for sharing this! I went thru about 20 videos that all showed using a needle and thread. I wanted to your them up like this. Just what I was looking for!
Please help: My orange habaneros are hanging since 3-4 weeks and some are starting getting realy black on some spots. Is this mold (i think it does not look like mold?) or are they simply losing their complete orange color?
I got so confused at the part where he ties them to the double string because of the way the camera cuts. Are you only splitting it once? What do you mean wrap around the string/cinch it down?
You rock! I've tried this with my homegrown, and much smaller, peppers and thread and glue and it just didn't work as well as these nice big ones and heavy cotton string. Thank you for the best such video I've come across. One question: you only did the slipknot on the first 3 peppers? You don't use the slipknot every time?
He starts with the first group, then wraps 3 times around a cluster, then locks it wth a half hitch. I might have enough habaneos, red peppers and jalapeños to make a small wreath to give to the owner of a great Cafe.
What kind of chile? I hear "Usually we use ???????? because it is a little smaller and easier to work . What kind? Sorry it's my old man ears not you! Thanks!

Good job muchacho. I want that one
Who's the first damn genius to come up with these?
The Native Americans thousands of years ago.
Not native Americans the Mexicanos who came and settled here brought it planted and farmed it as well as digging the ditches to water it get it right
Somebody's Nana probably figured it out. It is a good way to preserve them while they are in season and have them all year round.
Impressive. Very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's ristra.
That looks so pretty, I wonder how many are in that
Gracias!
Very helpful, thank you!!
can you make the same type or rista with smaller chilis?
I’ve seen people make them with chili’s as small as thai, so I would think so.
Beautiful
Well done!
How do you make the wreath
The corn husk at the top of the ristra, does it serve a purpose , or is it just for aesthetics?
Thanks!
