    Great test JD, awesome to see the newer 2022+ Kawasaki 310’s are getting better MPG. Probably with the new ECU management. Gina’s 2016 Kawi 310R we’re seeing 3.9-4.3 MPG pretty much from the day we purchased till currently with 670+ hrs. Safety on hers 80 miles cruising 45ish. Thanks again for putting in the work! Love the content

      That pretty comparable to my results! The 2022+ holds about one additional gallon and the new fuel pump arrangement means the pump is located slightly differently in the tank. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

      That is great on the hours. Recently purchased a new 2020 310lx. Haven't had it on the water yet though. Did you add the Kawi Performance tensioner to hers? Or just meticulously maintain the stock unit? This ski had sat around for 4 years basically and they put one hour on it as a demo. I want to pull that assembly off and grease it since JD said it is not greased from the factory. I would not doubt it is seized from sitting all this time.

      I will say the ski felt a bit “laden” at the rear with 14 gallons of fuel but all in all the extra weight was equivalent to having a normal sized female rider on the ski with me…I do prefer the ski without the extra fuel- feels less “burdened” if that makes sense- but obviously necessary to carry all the fuel for this test!

    Great video. I was on Lake O and went through the Mayaca lock in 22. That and the canal lock were my first locks to transit. Guys that ran the canal lock were the nicest people. Lots of questions. When did you do this? Guessing a while back since I don't see your speakers. Guessing smoother water would have gotten you better mileage.
    Now I am being needy! You need to do a trip on just Low power one way and just Mid power on the way back to compare! I am sure you are saying NOT HAPPENING! Haha. That is great information though. Greatly appreciated. I have not put my new 2020 310lx in the water yet. Partly weather but mostly other projects keeping me off the water. I am hoping to do some similar runs to know its range. My STXs will do 100 miles with mixed riding. Mostly cruising with some playing. Never knew the blinking would go away. Never even thought about my stereo or depth finder additions. I hope they are not an issue. I added the Kawi USB. I tapped into that for depth finder power. I was able to plug into the Kawi stereo wiring with my stereo setup in the gullwing storage area so nothing was spliced there. Hope none of that is an issue. Just reminds me I need to get that done! Thanks.

      Well it really depends on the maintenance that was done, frequency of oil change and quality of oil, salt vs fresh.. but a well cared-for Ultra LX that received regular maintenance and full synthetic oil and was not run hard and put up wet should last at-least 600+ hours without issue.

    • @JDsWaterWorld
      @JDsWaterWorld  4 месяца назад +2

      The stock 310 requires 90 octane minimum to avoid knock…if you must get fuel with less than 90 octane you can add an octane booster to the fuel and that will usually do the trick. 89 is close..probably would be fine. If not, knock sensor will trigger an alarm. Carry lots of extra octane booster- I usually keep an emergency bottle in my ski !

    • @JDsWaterWorld

      Pretty much every ski or vehicle will have some unusable fuel left in the tank as the pick up does not suck directly from the bottom of the tank.
