I've been getting some comments from you guys on my previous video on how to transfer the Google Authenticator account from one phone to another, saying that the codes don't work after you followed the steps shown in there, so todays video will be a really quick one in which I want to show you how to fix the "wrong code, try again" error that you might get sometimes when trying to use Google Authenticator on your Android device. One of the main reasons why your Google Authenticator codes do not work, is that the time isn't correctly synced on you Google Authenticator app, so make sure to stick around till the end of this video, to find out how to fix this error.

The GA app was working perfectly, but now when I go to settings => Time correction for code => sync now, I get the message "there was a problem contacting Google's server. Please check your network settings and try again". the wi-fi was off, and now I think it's ok. Thanks again for your help Paul. God bless

Just set your mobile device to get the time automatically from your phone carrier and then you can sync the app with your phone internal time

hey I recently installed a 2 factor authentication in an email account and I scanned the QR code again and made a duplicate I deleted all that and now even if I rescan the qr code when I check the code it says that it incorrect
not sure what to say.. have you scanned the code on the same device or different ones?

I had a issue with GA , contact customer support team with that respective Exchange and chat with 4 to 5 hours with all screenshot but they are not able to resolved, But Your small video does, Thanks a lot.........
I had this problem a few years ago with bitstamp and this was actually one of the first thing they suggested. But yeah, not every customer support actually offers SUPPORT

I have a que, I had a Google Authentication app and I added alot of apps like stormgain, quidax and some, recently I formatted my phone and re installed those apps in getting to open them it requires the 2fa code from the Google auth app. I try to add the 3rd party apps back so I can get the 2fa code but I can't pls help what should I do
you need to head over to each individual website/app, contact their support team and ask them to reset your 2FA

These are the most common problems why you get this error so if it didn't work, I'm not really sure what the problem is. Check out my other video dedicated to iPhones and see if those steps help you

Did you followed the first step as well? To adjust the internal date and time of your device automatically? Also, if you are using a different device to login, you need to make sure that the time matches the one on the device generating the code

Could selecting a time zone different from the one your phone is set to result to such a failure? For example, if you selected MT on a given platform, and now you are putting a google code from a phone set to CT?
yes, that could be the case. the time needs to be synced between the two devices as well

I have tried several times to sync time but it says that it has already been set yet I continue to get an error message.

@@domenickwilson3008 I noticed it’s missing on my iPhone as well so if I had to guess, iOS synchronises the time between the app and the phone automatically. What you should try is to make sure the time on your iPhone matches the time on your device you want to login. So if you use a laptop, make sure the time is synchronised with the one on the iPhone

i have android device, the setting is differ a little bit than yours, but anyways i can see that it's synced. However, the "Time already correct" error still pop ups. Where the main issue is my Google Authentication code is not working.

please I need help on how to recover back my Google authenticator key to login my Facebook account. my phone is formatted and I can't access my account because of the 2 Factor Authentication, can you help me?
When you try to login you need to select "need other ways to authenticate" and follow the steps. You will probably get a temporary code on your phone number, if you had one registered. Otherwise they will ask you some security questions in order to verify your identity. Once you get into your account, you need to reset your 2FA. Hope that helps!

Go to settings, general, date&time and and check if "set automatically" is on or off. if its off, switch it on. If its on, switch it off, wait a few seconds and switch it back on. Let me know if it works!

Thank you so much for this video, I think I have a more technical issue, I have tried using the step-by-step process and got the message that my authenticator is already in sync with my time. yet I keep getting the wrong Authenticator code error
if you are using 2 separate devices, one for logging in and one for generating the codes, you should make sure that the time on those 2 devices are synced as well

Still can't fix the problem.. when I click Sync now, it gives me this message: Authontificator's internal clock was not adjusted because it appears to be already in sync with Google servers
it means that the issue is somewhere else..

@@rbloxytds5451 if you are logging in from another device, like a laptop or pc, make sure that the time of that device matches the time on the one generating the code. also, have a look if you have the latest app update

I did all the things I'm still getting invalid code try again from uphold . Have contacted uphold can't seem to get help from them either. The authenticator app isent working properly its not changing codes as it should.
if the device from where you are trying to login is different then the one generating the codes, you need to make sure that the time is synced between them as well

@@Nuberish1 the iOS devices have an automatic time syncing feature. If you are using a different device to login into your accounts than the one generating the codes, the issue might be that the time is not synced between those two devices. So you might want to check that out!
