I was diagnosed with RA when i was 16... It was devestating and it effects my life everyday. But now im 21 and have a year done with nursing school and continue to strive to do what i thought was not impossible. Its really great to see other people who are younger who have RA because its hard to not feel alone.

Hey there!! Just came across your vid when I was searching for fellow RA warriors who are creators! :) So glad to have come across your video.
I was diagnosed at two years old and strive to educate and inspire others with the disease and those without it as well. I heard sooooo many times, "Oh you are too young to have arthritis" or, "Oh my grandpa has arthritis!" People don't realize it isn't just a disease of the older generations. Kids get RA too.
So, thanks for raising the awareness and making your video!
    Peace and love!

my story: all through age 7 to 12 I would feel a terrible pain in my knees, of course, my parents didn't think it was anything serious was happening to me till I was twelve. I started playing volleyball and the pain got even worse. so my parents waited a week or two till my yearly check up and told my doctor. then my doctor made me get my blood check. finally after weeks of waiting I found out I had RA which of course as a 12 kid would not understand what was to come. Now I am 18 and in bad pain. I have RA in my wrist, knees, elbows and ankles. sometimes my ankles are so bad it feels like Im stepping on knifes.

Your story reminds me so much of mine! I was diagnosed at 16 after lots of tendinitis diagnosis'. I was able to go into remission for quite awhile but am back in the heat of it. ANA positive, RF negative. Currently trying to find the right meds to get back on track. I cut out gluten 6 years ago and that significantly helped! (I'm 29 now) thank you for sharing your story!

Now I am handicap and still can’t walk and was diagnosed with ankylosis spondylitis. I really appreciate being able to relate to others my age with arthritis :)

I have had RA since 4/10/2010. I am in my 50's now and my medicine is not working xaljanz. I just had lab work done and they cant find anything but I am having a big flare up. It possibly a reaction to xeljanz. I am in the process of scheduling a rheumy appt. I am happy you are on the right track to getting relief. Your right about the rheumatologist, Diet and exercise. I have not been able to make it to the gym in a few weeks. I am hoping to get back into it.

I've had RA for 9 years.
I fell at work on a concrete garage floor, everything was fine until I woke up the next day, swollen feet, ankles and in so much pain. The one Dr I saw said it was from the impact when I fell and didn't do anything. I took ibuprofen and it went away for a week. The swelling and pain came back, in the meantime I started waking up with my hands throbbing, I would cry out in pain in my sleep. I went to my family Dr and because I have a heart defect since birth, he thought it might be my heart. Went back after seeing the cardiologist which ofcourse, the echo and EKG showed nothing wrong. He said with my hands starting to bother me and over all pain he sent me to my Rheumatologist, who tested me, but RA factors were clear however, he is a pediatric and adult rheumatologist so he knew that it doesn't have to show in blood test, after an extensive exam and a test for Lupus later, I got diagnosed. It's hard, some days are worse than others. Honestly my hands hurt just now typing this. But I am thankful to God that I'm still mobile. I was able to have a baby. And my family has helped me more than they will know. Some Dr's won t treat without blood work not showing RA. My hope and prayer is that every Dr, have more knowledge to help those in so much pain and suffering. Soft hugs, keep on living life!

I hurt my knee playing softball, at age 11. and went to patient first and was told it was sprained. It ended up never healing properly and had continuous pain that eventually went away. until a couple months later it swelled up and i couldn't bend it properly. After 8 months of PT it finally got better but not before my left knee swelled too. Just recently my fingers, knees, and toes swelled, and I had pain in pretty much every joint(including jaw which sucks) and now I have to go to my doctor again. It also doesn't help that in my first round of PT I was blood tested for Lyme and JIA and came back negative. so I don't know what it could be.

I was diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.
Went from doing 29 dead hang pull ups to not being able to open juice bottle.
Was in denial for a while.
Now I am thankful for RA as I have NO choice but to work out and eat healthy. My knees cannot afford any weight gain. So being lean is the only...getting ripped is just a fringe benefit lol
Are you on methorexate and is it mitigating the symptoms?

I was 17 my senior year 2013. My hands started swell and I couldn't move them and I was in horrible pain. So my mom took me mt primary doctor and she said it's either RA or diabetes. Got a blood test and it came back as RA but I have a severe type. I've been through multiple medication that lead me no where and left me with gut destroyed. I recently got diagnosed with Irritable bowel syndrome and I also had my gallbladder taken out a couple years back. I have complain to my Rhemtoglist about pain on my bigger joints. I have pain mostly in my neck and back shoulders hips and knees. My Rhemtoglist doesn't believe RA effects bigger joints. He only checks my smaller ones. I need a new Rhemtoglist but my depression and anxiety has effected that but I am working on it. Today I have gotten ibs more under control but my RA still very up and down. I also deal with a huge amount of muscle pain and tightness constantly in and out of physical therapy. This is definitely a tough disease to handle.

I was diagnosed about 2 months ago at 17. It had been going on for like a year or more with a pain free period of maybe a few months though) and a swollen middle finger.
So it was pretty bad by that point with inflammation in like every joint so the doctors wanted to start treatment immediately and I took my first injection 2 days later and was put on cortisone pills😅My middle finger is still a bit swollen haha
But we thought I scrolled my phone too much or something like that so that’s why we didn’t seek medical care earlier😅

Hi, thanx a lot for the film. I've been suffering from different kinds of pains and aches since mu early childhood. Now I'm 39 and pains are stronger and stronger. My joints, every bone, every tendon, knees, hips, backache, neck, elbows, jaws. I was diagnosed Hashimoto a year ago. I take letrox. But it doesn't bring any relief. My RF is negative. However, sometimes, I can;'t even stand on my foot because of pain as if I have twisted my ankle.

I'm 13 and I have all the symptoms of RA and I'm getting tested for it on the 18th. All my joints hurt so bad all the time and it's just horrible. The doc said I had to get tested since the medical steroid didn't help and since I have all the symptoms. I half hope it is so that I can get help but at the same time I hope it isn't because it's chronic and gets worse through life.

Thank you for your story. It's very similar to my own. However I'll be 38 this year. When I was 16 I too was in a track type team but for Army Cadets then. One weekend after track, my left knee swelled up so bad I too couldnt put any pressure or weight on it. I went to the doctors with my fathwr and he gave me inflamation meds and that was it! The meds never worked amd I had a swelled knee for I believe 2 weeks back then, and I had to use crutches. You mentioned your other knee being pained but thought it was for compensating...mine did the same and I too thought the same until this video. All throughout my childhood I had been in and out of hospitals...to this day I dont even recall why. I do know that as a child I would hurt quite a lot and my father would just tell me it was growing pains. *sigh* When I'd sleep, my hands and feet would also fall asleep and Id wake those nights terrified that that appendage would fall off. So I'd rub them until sensation came back and I'd fall back asleep. Lol I guess Im still having growing pains and my hands and feet still fall asleep from time to time. However... I'm seronegative and cannot get diagnosed. My feet and hands are changing and yet no one gives me direct answers. I've come to ignor most of my pain that comes and goes...its the body and mental fatique and sometimes the brain fog that are the worse. I'm truly happy your mom is there with you for support. I myself have my kids and Jesus as my support. Thank you again.

Rosy C I have to give you an internet hug. I just turned 41 in August and I also had a lot of the symptoms that you did growing up. My mom would come rub the cramps in my legs and arms and I remember going to the grocery store on crutches when I was 8 one winter because the pain in my knees was just so insane! I went thru 4 rheumys in TX and none of them dx’d me. They kept saying I don’t need to be seeing a rheumatologist. Thank God my now husband, convinced me to try one more time when we moved to TN! I now have a wonderful rheumatologist and we are currently in the process of trying to figure out a way to get and keep me pain free. This is the first time EVER that my CRP has ACTUALLY come down at all so I know we’re on the right track. Hang in there and don’t feel bad about trying a different dr. Don’t give up until you find someone willing to help you...I know how much that journey sucks, but it’s worth it!! ❤️

If we change our diet we can definitely reverse ra.without any medication we can live happily.so first thing is to stop eating non veg and eat food daily two times only and the most important thing is to eat c vitamin fruits like oranges daily.dont eat food made by wheat flour and also white rice.eat brown rice instead white rice .add millets in ur daily life and also try to drink vegetable juices like ash guard, cucumber ,beetroot ,carrot. Try to avoid food and do fastings by eating only fruits .maintain like this just for one month then definitely u will find change
