When I tried to do that, it worked out so bad that I ended up donating it to the landfill. The resin cured more or less in clumps. Not uniform at all. Ideas on what I did wrong? I tried to keep the heat gun moving and not just in one place...possibly too close to the resin? But it looked like it was about as far away from my resin as in this video. (Frustrated near Seattle...🤔🥺🙂)
@@jaykb6587 Ouch sorry about that. I’ve not experienced that, resin is crazy and different brands don’t obviously react the same. I should remember not to mention my experience unless I’m using the same brand of resin.
Oh, Claire! 😄 You know the old “Measure twice, cut once” saw? My style is more: “Measure twice, cut once . . . Cuss a little . . . Measure again . . . Go for more supplies . . .” The project is absolutely beautiful! I wish the ink pad could fit in here, because the gold would be gorgeous.
Love the green bowl, Petra does a final clear resin in the centre to push the colours out, then it crackles pushing back. Your mold is beautiful and I would be happy to make this creation 💚💛💚💛💚
Yessss I'm loving the two-tone textured molds. You are right the bottom is really pretty. I was just spacing out watching the video enjoying your music. The piece looks very highended.
Hi Claire love it 😍, you missed out the clear at the end, that gives you better effects, love this technique 😍 , still very pretty dish, you also could have heated up your resin with your heat gun when you first took it out the mould, there's always next time , thanks for sharing ❤️ ❤️❤️ xxx
Hello Claire I just started watching you, Sherry, and pouring your heart out. I've spent a bunch on molds, pigments, resins, and other goodies. Can't wait to jump in. I wish you guys would do a simple live for us beginners. Maybe coasters for starters? Just to break us in on the various resins out there.
I just watched a video of eight months ago. And I had some comments I want to make. So I'm,,,, leaving my comments, about the first time I saw your face and 🤌. There was your fingers in the ammonite mold video. And then there was your face! And now I,,,,, you've got red hair 😅. And you are young! With all of that natural talent and knowledge. You helped me over my resin challenges. So I'm going to SUBSCRIBE ❗🤣😅 😭 I THOUGHT YOU WERE A MIDDLE-AGED WOMAN ❗ that's great you are not aged. Then I can watch you for a long time. Thank you Claire
I love these colors! I would so stamp gold like you did the coasters. I have found to get the best cells or striations is to fill the mold with clear to push out the colors so when they draw back into the center they tend to blend more. Still, this is just beautiful Claire!!
@@ClairesCraftyCorner When I have tried to use my "heat gun," the resin cured strangely! It kind of clumped up in places. I ended up just donating it to the landfill. 😖❤️
LOVE Petra Gerbracht! ❤🤗 I'm so interested in what you come up with, Claire. 🤗 Ooooh, I LOVE these colors! 💕❤💕 Ohmigosh, that pattern you drew was gorgeous! The bowl turned so lovely! P.S. If I remember right, Petra puts a white paste (usually mixed with an interference gold) around the outside edge, then pours her colors. Don't know if that is supposed to make a difference, or not, though?
Hi. I was just wondering if resin bowls or resin coated air dry clays food safe? I'd like to customize a mug and plate but I'm not sure if it's safe to place a food after it's completely cured and cleaned.
I think pouring clear in the middle one or two times helps to create those cells. And maybe pouring from a certain height? I only speak from observance of others, not experience😉😺. That said, I wonder if the texture on the mold makes any difference for that? Questions, questions mean experiments, experiments.
Claire, I love this bowl/shallow dish. It is so beautiful and I think you are very amazing. Check out Pouring your heart out. Julie has made some beautiful bowls by draping the resin over a table leg, of all things!
I can visualize oranges, apples, grapes, bananas, peaches, and plums piled on your dish. Round fruit won't roll out because it's curved a bit. As the fruit is eaten, the beautiful dish reveals itself in all it's shining glory! 💚
I’ve only tried the bowl shape a few times, it seems as though every time I try to get into the metal bowl for shaping the resin project seems to pop back up out of the metal bowl.. I tried 2 different types of resin and tried at different t times I may still be waiting too long, as I seem to create the projects in the evening 6-9 pm and wait till the next morning maybe 12 hours. Shortest time I’d say maybe 8-10 hours. But still pop backs up can’t get to stay in the metal bowl..
Hi, she uses alcohol inks? And liquid dyes- not mica powder? So does that make a difference? I think I will have ago with both and see what the difference is…..😊😊
Don't be so hard on yourself you did great. We're our toughest critics especially as artists but give yourself some grace. I was screaming at the screen get your heat gun Claire at first (don't ask how I know 😂) just an idea not sure if it will work and I hope it makes sense. Heat it up again then put it back in the bowl but place a smaller bowl on top with something heavy in it and it should give you the shape you wanted. 🤔 Sorry for the long comment ❤❤❤
Ohhhh thankyoooooo 🤩🤩 yes yes seriously ... I am blaming brain fog haaaaa I totally knew a heat gun would have helped ... did I use it ? No why? No idea 🤩🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I love when that happens 🤪 I would love to see you do it again though. This would be gorgeous in pastel colors for Easter/Spring too 😉
Your hands drive us nuts...
Don't worry ... i'm taking lessons in how to craft with my feet 🙌🙌 Watch this space ... painted toe nails and everything 😍😍🤣🤣
This turned out absolutely amazing. I also appreciate you showing us errors and successes! Thank you ❤
Beautiful bowl ❤ use your heat gun to soften resin, to make it more pliable when it crosses that hard/soft line 😊

Looks divine.❤
Those greens are just gorgeous. The underneath is superb! Well done.
It is beautiful and I have seen Petra, she does clear in the middle, the colors on the outside. She gets amazing results
beautiful bowl, lovely greens with gold hints
It’s gorgeous! I’m addicted to watching Petra 😊
Beautiful bowl. Between you and my sister I have been inspired to really get into doing more resin art.
Love Petra. Been following her for years x
So beautiful . This will make an amazing gift. Thank you
I love the shape of the bowl and the green. It reminds me of a green bowl my Granny had.

LOL That to-do list must be a mile long by now! 😁
So beautiful. Is the resin put in the bowl the bottom of mold or top of it?
It would be beautiful to have a set and have them sitting on white dishes on your dining room table.. . Just as decor .. But gorgeous!!
Beautiful 😍❤️

So beautiful.
Hi Claire! 😍😍😍 I love the way it came out! It’s a beautiful plate/bowl
Even if the resin sneakily ate both pattern and colours it's still a lovely bowl and any keys (or other knick-knacks) will feel very welcome in it!

I know when using paint pigments there is an oil that you add to get the cells. I don't know if there is one for resin, but there may be.

As the great Bob Ross says, there are no mistakes, only happy entryway trays.
I use empty yogurt pots! They're great too! Xxx
Try using yr heat gun about 8inches away softens it to make malleable then sets solid love Jan
Nice. Where did you get the mold from?
Did you watch the video?
Hi, she uses alcohol inks? And liquid dyes- not mica powder? So does that make a difference? I think I will have ago with both and see what the difference is…..😊😊
All of the videos I have watched so far use the bottom of the bowls turned upside down. I am wanting to try a bowl but ... Not enough courage yet. 🤞
You might try turning the bowl upside down and see how that turns out it will give you a different size
Where did u get the mould please

If you heated it with a heat gun it would make it softer and easier to mold
If you used your heat gun on the resin after it went slightly too cured, it would have softened it again 👍🏻
Heat it with hot water.
