    for God's name did you think that we need to know the size of rhe silicone flower, which by the way is not sold by Amazon OR tell us the amount of resin you mix?, we are just blind to follow your instructons Teaching is another form of art. Not satisfied with the video but beautiful piece

      There’s a saying that comes to mind “It cost you nothing to be kind”. If there was additional questions you needed answer I have no problem answering there’s no need to be rude. The silicone mold is sold on Amazon here’s the link amzn.to/3JTUlqV it is 13.5inches and it also comes with smaller coasters that you could do the same technique and create trinket dishes. You will need about 1 3/8 cup of resin to fill the bowl. I apologize if the video didn’t meet up to you standards, thank you for acknowledging the art that I decided to share with others and how they can do it too.

    I cannot believe the nerve of some people to come on for the sole reason to criticize your art! So ironic for me at the ripe old age of 69 I am trying to learn this art and get annoyed when the videos don't indicate how much resin to mix! You continue to do your thing young lady, and " Do onto others as you would have them do onto you " is also a form of "art" ! Beautiful piece 1

    To figure out how much resin to mix, did you say you pour water in the mold first, for the measurement?

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  Год назад

      Hi. Yes, you can pour water in your molds so you won’t have to cure and then make more resin. Use a measuring cup, you can make a guesstimate what is needed and just keep track of what you’re pouring and that will be what you will use for your mix. I recommend putting the mold on something stable to easily dump it since the mold will be unstable the water will spill when you dump it. Dry your mold completely, water and resin do not mix and your project won’t cure properly if it is still damp from water.

      Thank you so much and for noticing my like and subscribe pop up🥰. Actually at the time they reached out to me and I haven’t turned back since. I was using another resin , I didn’t particularly love it, the odor was so strong, my pieces would turn yellow, and not always cure fully. I am open to trying different resins though.

    It's a wonderful piece! ❤ I tried lots of times to make a bloom with resin, but I've never achieved it. I suppose it's the resin density. Could you tell me, please, the "secret" for making floral effects with colours and white? Greetings from Italy ❤

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  Месяц назад

      Hello, thank you so much, wow 🤯 all the way from Italy. It definitely can be the density of your resin. The longer you let it sit especially a big cup can heat and thicken up. You can pour into smaller cups, use a heat gun or a blow dryer to move those colors around, in the video I’m using a toothpick and popsicle stick to encourage it to move, and pouring clear resin around those lines will help. Heat will accelerate it to curing causing it to thicken making it harder to blend. And for the white I love the castin craft opaque white, the link is in my bio 😉 it works better than any mica powder or pigment that I have tried so far.

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  2 года назад

      Thank you. Oh no I’m sorry that happened. Was your resin still tacky, when I did this my resin wasn’t tacky at all. You want to do it when it’s not tacky and before it gets hard. The plastic is the painters drop cloth but in plastic here’s what it look like amzn.to/3rZ2vaF you can find them at dollar tree too if you have one close by. I hope this helps 💕

    Thank for the easy to follow video😁I have one question? Most videos put the resin on the outside of the bowl, why do you put it in the inside?

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  Год назад

      Thank you. It actually was just trial but I would say placing inside made my bowl smaller than wide and it was easier to hold its form with the pinched flower leaves inside of the bowl once I got it in the bowl.

    How do you stop the colours running into each other please

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  Месяц назад +1

      Hello. The longer it sits, the thicker it gets which stops it from blending. Different aspects could effect this as well, like the type of resin, how much resin you’re working with, the temperature of the room, and how long you let it sit out. I find that I really only have about 30-45mins to use and that’s from the time I mixed it A and B. Waiting longer to use it will thicken and it won’t blend out but it will also get hot, and start curing, but the heat of my lights could affect my timing as well. My suggestion is to use smaller cups if you want to keep the colors from blending and no heat gun, blow dryer cause that will blend the colors.

    I wondered if you could use colored pop sticks ???? Doesn’t bleed the color ???

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  Год назад

      Hi 👋🏽. It depends on the quality of the sticks, and how the sticks were tinted. There is silicone popsicles sticks you can peel the resin off once it has cured and reuse

    Can you use seran wrap ? Where do you get the plastic

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  3 года назад

      Hi. I never used sedan wrap in this way but it might be too thin and a hassle to get on the bowl and and could create lines. The plastic is tarp from the dollar tree in the home improvement section. I also use this to cover my space while I’m working to help prevent mess. A trash bag could work too if cut to size.

    Do you have a favorite resin and dyes that you prefer?

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  3 года назад +1

      Hi. I really like Total Boat it’s very low in odor and I haven’t had any issues curing my pieces. I tried Black Diamond they’re pretty and haven’t had any issues working with them. I also really like Middlecoast pigments there’s a lot that comes in a bag at a great price. I would love to try some pigments from Mrs. Colorberry one day they’re so pretty and seems easy to work with.

    The flower mold is available on Amazon as well on AliExpress. I tried a few times to make a Bowl and it was not complicated. My question is about the edges as they are sharp. I usually use 1:1 and it is in total 200, I use a special glass with measurements.

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  2 года назад

      Hello. With this bowl because the mold has curves it isn’t sharp. I didn’t find the need to sand.

      When you place the shape inside a bowl to shape it, do you place plastic underneath ? Doesn’t this leave marks ? Thank you for your reply 🎉

    • @ToughCookieCo
      @ToughCookieCo  Год назад

      Hello, yes put the plastic between bowl and the resin you’re shaping. It will leave a mark if it is still sticky to the touch so you want to make sure the plastic is smooth s much as you can if you try it and it is still sticky
