    Your frantic road trip south was exhausting even for us arm chair followers, so don’t dare think there will be any boredom in Like Button clickers as you slow down to smell the burritos. We are not here for the Amazing Race, just to visit you guys: see how you are doing. You’ve been sharing well filmed scenery and a feel for amazing places all over the world. But seeing you home among family and then go through a wrenching health scare brought this point home to us. The reason to “hit that subscribe button is U2 period. As you immortalize and share this part of your lives. Not to mention the unmentioned but oh so obvious happiness you both BEAM as a couple. These are at the heart of the sincere vignettes you put out each week. Feel the support in return and watch them potholes! ❤

      Thanks so much! It's tough to say no, but we have gotten better as we've spent more time in Mexico. It turns out people want to offer us a lot of services for the car 😅

    Mexico takes the gold medal in speed bump elaboration. If any country needs to build great speed bumps that last for years, they must come here and get some classes, haha. Road building is the worst here though. The other day, I was driving on a local highway at night, and there was a new speed bump in the road I didn´t notice and I just felt like the Dukes of Hazzard.
    The windshield cleaners once they notice the license plates, which I believe is the first thing they notice, they get so insistive. They use their condition with tourists to get much more money than from the locals and in 'dólares'. Just to note, we get overwhelmed as well.
    The Charcoal in the fridge, it´s the cheap arm and hammer deodorant. And it works too! lol. And those coca-cola bottles are reusable. That is something I do like about my country. You just go to the store surrender a an empty bottle and buy a new soda pop for cheaper, no recicling needed.
    Were is that beach spot located? Looks clean and isolated. My guess is that it should remain unknown to keep it that way, isn´t it? haha

      We have a ridiculous number of clips of her now that she’s joined the adventure 😂 We couldn’t probably make her her own channel if we had more time to edit 😂

    It’s Nice to give small tip in pesos for good service at the gas station. They depend on this.

      Good point, thanks! We’ve been giving around 5 pesos. Hopefully that’s the right amount. It’s difficult to tell what we should give

    I had the same traumatic experience driving to Mazatlan but I used the "International 15" thinking since it was federal the pot holes wouldn't be bad. I made the mistake of giving the kids money. 5 dollar bills. At the end an older guy around 20 freaking hung on my car then called a little boy over to hang his face on my window. Needless to say, that snapped me out of LaLa happy land! Very disturbing and those kids shouldn't be allowed to do that at the toll booths! Tons of Mexican adults around and sometimes cops! Really sickening when you experience it!

    Were you able to use your credit/debit card at most gas stations?

    • @nicoleandmico
      @nicoleandmico  2 месяца назад

      For the most part, yes. There have been a couple times we have had to pay cash, and we’ve learned to ask if they take cars before we gas up in case we don’t have enough cash on us

    How do you keep your stuff in the car safe? Do you cover it and when you check in, do you remove everything out? Also do you have Canadian plates?

    • @nicoleandmico
      @nicoleandmico  3 месяца назад

      We sure do have Canadian plates. We wish we could make them look Mexican somehow to blend in better, but we're stuck with them. For the car, we make sure that anytime we stop somewhere to eat or let Evie out, we park the car in a spot where we'll be able to see the car. We've also blacked out the windows in the back and we drape a blanket over all our belongings when we get out to eat/grab coffee, just so you can't see exactly what's in there if someone were to try to peak in. It's stressful though for sure to have all our stuff in one place. We have to be really careful!
