I'm Japanese and I love Suzuki's 2-stroke! !! Such a Japanese 2-stroke motorcycle of Suzuki is running in the world GP I love how Kevin Schwantz runs! !! Even if it becomes a legend, I think it is not inferior!
This extraordinary man rode the tyres off a bike that had no right even to get a podium. Some of his best races were on years when he didn't win the title. 1993 was in some ways not his best year. I cannot imagine the brutality and sheer violence of these bikes. A few strange souls paint their road bikes lime the Schwartz Suzuki's from various years.... But they are just riding them to the pub. This chap was another level. I still smile when I recall the amazing entertainment he was a part of in his 500GP years.
Last time I watched this video was mid 90s .. bought back so many cool memories..KS is such an iconic rider and that Lucky Strike RGV is the coolest gp bike ever!
Revin Kevin is the Best Rider ever , zero fear on inferior machinery influenced a generation of riders racers ...reason I ride still today on a GSX R750 ....
I tend to agree, there were so many legends...but Kevin always stood out to me as being very courageous with that mx style and as some others have commented here, some of his best years were not reflected on the podium...1992 anyone?! Epic rider!
*I had a 1989 RG500 'C' Series Pepsi Suzuki one of the last made, (Frame Number HM31 106277 no 873 of CH Models) and rode it hard including Track Days at Oulton, Cadwell and Mallory Park but was classed as up to 1000cc Class, managed to keep up on corners, but Honda's Blackbirds beat me on acceleration - however finished 3rd so considered a Win at Cadwell Park ! However sold it eventually as it was either going to Kill Me or get Nicked for Speeding to a Guy from Sweden at a huge Profit Today in Mint Condition [as mine was] with low Mileage worth in excess of £20k and appreciating rapidly no doubt ! - I Did a trip from the UK to Switzerland including all [or most] of the Alpine Passes and the Bike was a dream and cruised at 65 mph in 6th gear at around 3500 rpm with ease !*
Wow what memories. Saw him at Spa. One of my favorite riders in the most competitive era ever. Schwantz, Rainey, Roberts, Lawson, Mamola, Spencer, Doohan, Gardner and "how far can you hang of your bike" Juan Garriga 😄
*Go Kevin Go ! in 1990 bought one of the last made RG500's CH (1989) Pepsi-Suzuki "Kevin Schwantz" GP Race Replica, Interestingly, the last of the street RG500s (the H model) had almost the same power output as the original works racers!*
Mon idole...👍👍👍
A very skillful rider on a mediocre bike. No multiple champs, never do an exaggerating manouvre such as elbow down or something, plus didn't do a dirty take over on every corner abd become a racing hero for everyone. It's just #34.
Sorry but it's not true. Kevin was leading the championship and it could even have a bigger margin if it wasn't Doohan's bike bowling in the previous round at Donington.

Kevin Schwantz won the 1993 500 cc championship because Wayne Rainey sadly ended his season with an almost fatal crash.
Sorry but it's not true. Kevin was leading the championship and it could even have a bigger margin if it wasn't Doohan's bike bowling in the previous round at Donington.

What does a World Champion get in monetary value ?? Their race winnings ... who gets that ?? Does that go to everyone or the winner alone??

peccato che il video faceva pena, con tutte le derapate che ha fatto Schwantz in carriera non ne hanno fatto vedere manco mezza.

Anyone noticed… after each time Suzuki win the title… 93/00/20.. the next year they do poorly.
