I was born in Boston in 1955, moved to Mississippi in 1965 and grew up there. My dad was a HUGE Boston Bruin fan, instilled in me a love for Boston sports. At age 12, I lived through the Impossible Dream with Yaz and the Sox. The Bruins won two Stanley Cups while I was in high school. Of course the Celtics had that great winning tradition, was old enough to see Bill Russell win his last two championships in 1968 and 1969. But the Patriots were always middle of the road to terrible. Through the early days, through Jim Plunkett, to Tony Eason and Steve Grogan, and even Drew Bledsoe. Made it to a few Super Bowls, but realistically knew we wouldnt win. Then came the Goat. FIVE Super Bowl championships! The Celtics won again in 2009. Bruins in 2011. The Red Sox with THREE since 2000!!! But nothing compares to that first Super Bowl in 2001. We had no chance. Yet there we were, champions. Although there has been MUCH heartache over the years, Boston is definitely a City of Champions. I thank God everyday that I am a BOSTON sports nut. There is nothing else like us. We live and die with our teams. And once a BOSTON fan, it gets in your blood and can NEVER be excised. BOSTON RULES!!!!

I may be from Ohio, but I am a Boston boy by heart. So much Patriot history in my mind, The Comeback in super bowl 51 including the catch by Edelman, The interception by Butler and I jumped up and down just like Brady, Burkhead punching it to get here to Super bowl 53, The heart break during the losses against the Giants and Eagles, But I use those losses and the hate I get to fuel me. Tom is the GOAT and anybody who disagrees doesn’t know what greatness is. LETS GET 6 BOYS, BOSTON STRONG, LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE.
No matter if you live in Ohio or like me, 45 minutes from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough or anywhere in the country...many feel the same way. Love them or hate them the Patriots have really become a phenomenon we won't soon see again. So enjoy it now...

I really enjoyed this, brought back so many memories, I grew up in Worcester area, now I live in NYC but will always be a fan of All of the New England teams!! My son is a fan of Boston teams and he has only known winning, us older fans went through a lot of heartache ( except with the Bird years) so I LOVE ALLT HIS WINNING!

It was Historic it was a great ride and I am privileged to have witnessed the worst and then been rewarded with the streak of utter dominance. It is true all good things come to an end but What a hell of a ride.
They always underestimate the pats maybe back in the day because boys did we have some rough years...Then all these men found eachother made a family and never thought any one player was more important then any other they were the first team to come into the stadium together then you got the red sox and the heart they have papi and the bloody sock ending to the bambino oh and let's not forget the Bruins and celtics slid a championship in there too we have had a lot of rough years in so many sports and we always stood by loyal to our home teams through thick and thin.6 rings and multiple wins later I am just in awe as to what we have accomplished in these years...It has been an honor to watch it all happen all New England teams have won a championship in my life #blessed.

Growing up it was let down and disappointment, all I heard was "curse of the bambino", until 2001 and the Patriots finally broke through. Then 20 years of glory and now I'll tell my kids and grandkids about the glory days and the Brady curse. That is Belichick haha.
