I think it's the main reason why I don't feel sorry for the dude. Even if that doctor sounded like that, he's not in the position to make a hacky joke about it. I think the last time I heard another comic do a stereotypical "Asian" voice on stage, it was the 90s.
The asian doctor in almost perfect oxford english after Brandons bad parodi was golden.
The cruel irony is that I would have never watched this thing but now I'm curious to see how it all comes together.
It's hard to explain how bad this special is because it isn't bad in any exceptional way other than the asian jokes. It's just really unfunny. It''s 15 minutes stretched into an hour by not tightening up any of the jokes. It feels really unprofessional and that is coming from me.

Now Bisping is a legit funny guy, and he won a UFC championship too. He's everything that Brendan wishes he was, and more, it must be horrifying for Brendan. Bisping also has a very funny elaborate running joke about a secret second family he has in Asia, who he threatens into silence with a rubber shoe. So he can even do Asian jokes better. As for Luis though, well he says he's a pro comedian, but he comes off more like the straight man in that podcast tbh.

1. Most comedians are better live, especially in clubs where they can be dirtier.
2. Comedy is subjective. I’ve seen people cry laughing from basic puns or knock knock jokes. Joe has a built in audience who finds him funny, and it’s not like his shows are surprises. He talks about them all the time.

The difference is that whether people find callen funny or not.....he’s a performer. You can see that he puts time into his act, rogan on the other hand and a few others in the group have no performance value apart from being loud, OTT and cursing. He had two separate groups in the one larger group to choose to learn from....he copied the wrong ones.

Apart from dave Chappel all US stand up routines are awful. They can be amazing actors in comedy sketches or films but most of them are terrible at stand up. The Brits have the best stand up hands down.

I get that comedians are telling stories and taking us down fictitious paths to make a point or get a laugh. But I HATED the way he closed out the ending, if you've been a fan of Schaub since before he started being an entertainer fulltime then you know that's not, as he put it himself, "his story". "Bryan and I drove 8 hours to LA, and we hatched a plan so that i would never fight again", on that fateful episode of JRE a few weeks post fight "yea man, we just need to polish up a few things then I should be able to make a go at a title run" . You can fudge things, because it's your job to make people laugh, but that's an outright lie, and it didn't sit well with me
