“Chris Delia’s Justin Bieber’s favorite comedian, that’s like being Shaqs favorite poet” Jeff Ross on a comedy roast
Shaq released a rap album I might respect his taste in poetry...
Iahi Ghusak no offense, I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but that joke doesn’t really hit or fit into what’s being said here. They’re not just throwing names out there like that, there’s actually a little context to it. They did the Justin Bieber roast and Justin Bieber had Chris D’Elia as of the roasters since he’s Justin’s favorite comedian. Shaq was also one of the roasters at the Justin Bieber toast too, and Jeff Ross is a mainstay of all the Comedy Central roasts. Jeff Ross making that joke was him clowning Chris D’Elia, Justin Bieber, and Shaq all at once, since all 3 were were there taking part in the roast. It doesn’t really work when you hop onto the joke and try to expand it to include someone unrelated to the reference.
@@PotawatomiThunderNew youre overstating the importance of context here, still a great joke
@@Sharkfan No, he's stating the obvious. Which everyone should have been able to follow, but for some reason they couldn't. The context IS the most important part. That's what makes it a joke. There's no need to cover up for people who didn't understand how jokes work. Accountability for what you say and do needs to be revitalized. No more backpedaling or making excuses. You either get it, or you don't. If you don't, you should be fairly called out on your mistakes. There shouldn't be white knights defending those who are deficient. Is there no standard anymore? Thin skinned people like you are spreading the notion that it's okay to be an idiot, and that the idiot's voice is just as important as someone who is more educated or more intelligent. That's a trend that should be going in the opposite direction. Jokes are funny when they are clever, like incorporating 3 present icons into your joke. Not just saying random shit and expecting an applause. Again, is there no standard anymore? It must be people like you and Iahi that are responsible for people like Chris and Brendan to be able to get a stand-up special, even though they aren't funny. A well thought out joke could be a 9, but if you don't think things out (like Iahi), the same joke ends up being a 2. You take away the clever factor and it's barely a joke. How do you people misunderstand comedy so easily? I guess you don't even understand the clever and funny jokes, they probably go right over your head. Instead, you laugh at drivel like Iahi's comment. Smh. Is there no standard anymore?
Iahi Ghusak no you hopped on the tail end of a joke that was made with very specific circumstances with one that didn’t fit the scenario. That’s all.
The highlight of his career is Eminem using Chris's impression at the end of his track with Logic.
The End.

The saddest thing about the special is that it makes it to Netflix while comedians like Mark Normand release a brilliant hour free on RUclips.
Mark’s special was so damn good
Karen took the Kids it’s not that it made it to Netflix. That’s not how it works. Netflix signs them to do the specials, not pick them up afterward.
@@Dikwili I know they sign beforehand. Some specials make it on after the fact but not this one. They also have last say on whether to green light a special. Stand up is such a fascinating art. The way a pretty funny person in normal situations can come across as significantly less funny on stage. I think Callen is in a way a great example of that effect, although I think a lot of his stand up is very decent. I feel like if I were to hang out with him though I'd be pissing my pants non-stop.

A lot of comedians have this problem, they are great on podcasts but just terrible on stage....
The podcast scene is over-saturated with comedians pretentiously rambling on and on about "coming up with material", and "doing sets at The Comedy Store". Especially when the majority of them are mediocre at best. In fact, it almost appears as if stand up comedy, in general, is over-saturated.
@@philsmith3019 over-saturated is when there's a lack of opportunity and an abundance of talent. what's happening right now is exactly the opposite. Netflix is giving everyone who's ever sold a ticket a special and that goes double if you're part of a minority group.

His podcast is just too weird like a tweenager ripping on people. He acts like a straight weirdo. Normal upbringing thou!!!
@@despizedicon it's not "weird", your one of those guys in a conversation who takes everything serious and never goofs around. Sad.
before the allegations, i tried to listen to one of his podcasts because i heard it was really good. I made it like 10 minutes BARELY just cause i was thinking "maybe it gets better?" I never thought is comedy was that good either. I tried to watch a special and tried to think he was funny cause i kept hearing he was, but i couldnt make myself think any of it was funny lmao. Guess I'm glad I never thought it was good.
I loved watching a character drawing of Chris Delia while simultaneously listening to Chris Delia get roasted
Finallyyyy. No one talks about this. D’elia is one of a few podcasters who is really funny on podcast, but their specials are really hard to watch. I love a lot of podcasters stand up but literally do not laugh at all watching Chris’s stand up
