I can verify the played-up "bogan" accent he does, as an Australian it's extremely grating. It's quite common for Australians to play up their accent for foreigners, they think it makes them funnier or more amusing I guess, but in a more "zoo animal" way.

Steve Irwin admitted as much as this... at least he was doing it for conservation though, I say.

That drunk voice he does makes all his specials totally unwatchable.
I don't think it was a put on voice up until the last two specials. Before that he was legitimately more than a little drunk
I think it's from all the heavy drug abuse he did before he went all PC when he moved to the U.S. and blew up here. Idk man it could be put on but think about how Joey Diaz talks and how much he abused the same shit Jim did.
Could be put on though I wouldn't put it past him but I don't think he can even help it. Like his body is starting to die slowly from all the shit he has put it through so he can't really keep up.
He was a heavy drugger and stuff, so not that unrealistic. The matter is he's lost in the way from angry singing drunk and cokehead to full grown comedian. He's a bit woke, but still like shit and rape jokes but takes them a little bit "bore sirious". Mabe he should stick to TV from now on or maybe he'll get a little batter. Still better 2020 story then Chris D'iarrhea.

Not really sure where this criticism is coming from. There is stuff to criticize, but the idea that he doesn't tell jokes isn't one of them. If anything, he may stick to the format a little to closely sometimes.

Robin Williams comedy was just the ramblings of a coked up mind. He would ramble off a million things and maybe a few things would be amusing at most. At least in my opinion. His acting was top notch though.

Mr Hammersmythe yep. Totally agree. I was a huge David cross fan like 15 years ago. I wouldn’t say his standup was super edgy, but certainly he wouldn’t do the material they did on mr show , now. Don’t know how any older fans can enjoy him now. And who is he making material for? Are there people becoming new David cross fans in 2020? It’s all people who still worship mr show

Patton Oswalt had a recent special where the preview has him calling Trump a cheeto, like millions of other unfunny lemmings online. I thought Patton was supposed to be this linguistic genius, not some lazy hack who may have killed his wife to avoid an expensive divorce

A few specials ago Jim defended his offensive humour as a whole bit where states there's a huge difference between what he thinks and what he thinks is funny to say, part of the joke is that if he comes out and stage like "hey everyone rape is bad' his audiences response would be "Jim's lost his edge".... he really has

Speaking of joke stealing, there's a bit in this special clearly stolen from Ricky Gervais (about nut allergy people).
It can be seen in Ricky's much older Netflix special. So there's no argument who came up with it first.
The segment starting with the germaphobe thread, through the nut allergy bit feels like it was ripping off a bunch of comedians. The germaphob part reminded me a lot of a Carlin bit about germs/washing your hands. Louis CK also told a similar nut allergy joke. It just wasn't close enough that I could say whether he stole it or if he's so generic that he's engaging in "parallel thinking."
The first time I ever did coke was with Jim at a shady bar across the Wilbur theater in Boston, that was a cool experience, I loved that dude until his woke nightmare show dropped.

Fast forward to post JJS and my fiance tells ME Jim has a new special and all I have to say is "eh I guess we can watch it idk up to you." Watched the special and it was exactly what I expected. He just covers his ass about being a disgusting fuck over the last decade and makes a bunch a lame safe jokes that didn't get a sincere laugh out of me. Only some small throw away chuckles.

Really interesting point about entering a new comedy dark age. I was lucky enough to get into watching stand up right at the post Dane Cook, rise of CK, Burr, Patrice O'Neal, etc. era. Great years for comedy, but you're right, we're now in an age of over-saturated Jim Jefferies and Joe Rogan-ites.

Jim has become a comedian who is still very funny and quick witted off the cuff (his podcast) but his standup has become very dull. Much like how Rogan gets away with filling theatres, I blame the people who fill the theatres more than the person on stage. Easy laughs for easy people. Easy!
I forget Rogan calls himself a comedian sometimes.
Most comedians are funnier on their podcasts than on their specials.

Joe can be funny off the cuff too. But he gets into serious mode so much that he’s not always engaging comedically. I find Joe to be likable 76% of the time, but I find his stand-up obnoxious and annoying.

Looks like his set is better when he's drunk and high. I saw him live 2 years ago and he was fucking hilarious. He had many memorable bits. His bit about performing at a celebrity dinner party and it being a disaster, had the crowd rolling laughing. It was one of the best I heard in years
