- I visit Obsessive Lawnie and we give the Ryobi 18v Blade edger a test.
I also visit Bunnings to purchase some Pinnacle Storage for my Storhub storage!
If you are interested in any of the equipment I'm using, check out my new page Turf and Tools / @turfandtools where I review equipment that I am sent and use. If you'd like to send something for me to show, send me an e-mail timthelawnmowerman@gmail.com
Hi! My name is Tim The Lawnmower Man and I love to clean up overgrown yards and make fun videos doing it. I'm able to do them for free as these videos have ads on them and the revenue from that enables me to cover my cost.
I'm always looking for the worst yards around. Sometimes I drive around looking for them, sometimes viewers send me suggestions.

Only a day later and another video! Don’t stress the full normal videos are still coming out weekly 🙌
Never a dull moment Tim. Nice to see you catching up with your mate and looking at different lawns.
Looking forward to seeing the shed fit out. From Queensland
You and me both!
@@timthelawnmowerman Good project for the wet.
Your friend's little zoysia patch in a pot looks good. Also enjoyed his landscape plants. You look like you like an organized space, wherever it is, so we'll enjoy you having fun sorting more area.
Have enjoyed the last two vlogs. Your free mow Friday’s are my therapy . Love a beer while watching someone else do work free a hard day . Wish I could have green grass or even died back grass , unfortunately got a rabbit plague here in the northern rural area of Hobart Tasmania. Anyone want free rabbits .pick your own , No limits on how many you can have
you need the great wall to keep the rabbits out 😂
A lot of people seem on edge these days. That makes them unpredictable. Be cautious always.
Love the frangipani Karthik! Wish I could grow one here, Ballarat!
Zoysia grass is what I have in portions of my 1/2 acer lawn and after 10 years of living here it still hasn't spread throughout the whole lawn but it's getting there. I love it. It's as thick as carpet and feels great to walk barefoot on and it chokes out all the weeds so I don't have to pull them or use chemicals to get rid of them. It's also slow growing so it cuts how often you have to mow in half. The only 3 small issues I have with it is 1. It's a vining gass so it keeps creeping back into my garden beds but the vine roots are shallow so that's easy to pull back out. 2. If it does get too long because of the carpet like thickness of it it'll kill your mower and your back trying to cut it. Had this issue after a mower died and I had to save up money to get a new one and that first cut afterwards was a nightmare. 3. And this is my biggest issue, when it goes dormant for winter it turns completely yellow and looks like a dead lawn and it takes a few cuts in the spring before the green new growth starts to come through. I've actually thought about getting some of that green lawn paint for the winter months but the yellow color doesn't bother me enough I guess because I still haven't done it. lol
Glad to know the the ANGRY Man wasn't really angry!
Love your work Tim! It has made me make my own business all thanks to you. Appreciate what you do! God Bless You.
Hope you’re doing well 🙌
Keep up the great job....
Loving these! Loved your friends garden. My husband grows various plumeria trees so my eye caught that lovely one in his front garden. 😊
😂😂😂 that episode I remember, and I thought, wow, he helped, so I guess he wasn't that mad. Lol, what a nice guy.
At first, I thought Tim didn't hear the man right but then he said that a baby was lazy for napping. I burst out laughing. A great joke.
Always enjoy your videos, Tim!
Thanks for #2.
Thanks for letting us come along with you!
Entertaining video😂And informative too! Thanks for sharing! Nice mobile unit!!!
That was good. It’s a shame there weren’t more Carthiks’ in this world. Love that mobile workbench. What a great idea. Even better if you’re OCD, like me.
Love your channel tried to mow my lawn today tomorrow is another day😂
Zoysia is great for keeping out weeds! It likes full sun.
Added: I didn’t realise the angry dad was a joke! Lol
Yep. Definitely like these blog videos.
I thought the angry neighbour bit was hilarious. 😎🇨🇦😎
Hi Tim I love this video with your friend and loving the new units .❤
Love the accent and your day to day with friends
Looks great a lot of good ideas
New favourite vlog on RUclips! 😊 Keep it up.
Beers and pizza is the go👍
Beats the rain!
grouse work Tim mate lovely stuff plus giving the Ryobi Lawn Edger a a crack in a good load of grass on the nature strip etc and yep even in a good area of in need of help goes a long way etc and i know that set up in your storage area will go a long way for sure and cheers from Grovedale Victoria Australia.
This is nice :-) yeah, film that assembly and such, love watching stuff come together and timelapses of building stuff.
Hi Tim, new to your channel. Like your vid's and your new VLOG. Nice to hear your voice, you sound more down to earth like your lawns, lol. Good job! Hope to see the full version. From Sarasota, Florida USA
Thanks and welcome!
Your mate sold me on his performance. I believed the whole skit. Good on you both. Still laughing about the fact that you got me!! Always worth watching. LOVING THE VLOGS
So good. I want the Frangipani in Karthiek’s front garden ❤, but I doubt it will do that well in Melbourne.
I like those ten minute or so vlogs ! Nice one Tim !!
Thanks Mandy!
Looking forward to tomorrow's clean up! I really hope most people are able to mow regularly after your clean up. As great as Kikuyu is at bouncing back, it is high maintenance if you neglect it and doesn't look great if you have to chop it down each time. A lot of people here (South Africa) grow Kikuyu lawns and get a garden service to cut it every two weeks or so, which I don't think is often enough. I still like it as a lawn though. 😊
Great video Tim 👍❤ It's all coming together nicely 👍 I was lol with the angry man scene 🤣 loving your fur babies 😍
I remember that episode.🙂 You fooled me, I thought it was real.😀 Now that I know it was acting, it’s funny. You a funny guy. 💚
Yes what a nice storage shed Tim ❤ Q:Those high metal walls between gardens appear very popular and unique to Australia? Are they to keep wildlife out of the backyard? The front gardens are often not zombie proof😅...
It is to give privacy as all new homes are built on very small blocks and many of them are 2 storeys.
@@richardportelli1983 Thanks for the info, understood. We prefer hedges, or wooden, mesh or stone fences, for the same reason. I've never seen such closed metal barriers in Europe.
We have fencing or walls in So California. Gotta say I like the metal fences. They’d survive earthquakes! 😊
😂🎉 Can't fault that "Well Tidy"😂 and secure 😊
You are not a mower man. Your garage, storage shed and truck are too clean! 😊
Tim im enjoying your vlogs, i also love your funny sense of humor 😊.
You’re in a very small club 😂
@timthelawnmowerman
Tim, I gotta say some people just don't understand humor! I watched the "angry homeowner" video you referenced & I thought it was hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Obviously, those who didn't, did NOT watch the entire video. IF an "angry homeowner" was really angry with you, they would NOT have helped you finish the yard! People are just stupid. Thanks for the entertaining content. Keep it coming.
I have that 18v Ryobi edger also... works quite fine for my use case.. its actually due to your videos that I got it... those nice clean edges you make inspired me
This one is actually the new model 👍
Oh I see.. mine is a RY18EGA-0.. looks the same at a gance, but battery placement and color of the shaft is not the same :D @@timthelawnmowerman
I’m not sure the model name but there are quite a few noticeable differences. I’ll have a full video on @turfandtools soon
Love the look of the grass it almost looks fake
Yes sir, you fooled me, now I don't know if I can ever trust you again, just kidding brother, that was a good one, DON'T DO THAT EVER AGAIN! Your a funny guy, & yes the acting was good.
Nice 👍
Good choice. We have zoysia... feels so nice underfoot. Likes to be watered, grows fast.
That is the edger I own, does absolutely everything I need it to do.
This is actually the new model of that one. I’ll have a full video on Turf and Tools probably today
My neighbor in South Carolina back in the 1980s plugged 1K Zoysia strain tops-at-the-time in front, side and back yards. Within 7 years, watering when necessary she had sturdy results and once plugs were established, mowed weekly on an old rider, no bagging a most lovely cover grass under mature oak, pine and crepe myrtle. I moved away in 1989, went back to visit in mid 90s and yard completely covered beautifully. We had centipede with same type canopy and it had spread to other side neighbor's yard prolly half-way. Ruth had some Bermuda grass competition in spots. Centipede completely overwhelmed everything except dandelions and wild violets here and there in all three yards. Your friend will most likely be surprised at coverage and resiliency. Since Carthic is compulsive yarder he'll have some fun with this Zoysia experiment. If the circles are an indication of plug size, maybe sooner than later! 🎉🎉😊😊
Zoysia is amazing grass! ❤
I’m looking forward to seeing it when it’s fully covered
Great timing with the workbench & shed fitout. I have a 7m x 3m hodge podge of a verandah and have been trying to work out how to organise it. Aĺl my gardening stuff is stored on the verandah so it's usually a mess. Good quality, outdoor tolerant storage products are so expensive and I don't know where to start.
Have also considered biting the bullet and getting a garden shed instead - but Darwin & cyclones. Cost of one that isn't at risk of blowing away scares me a bit! I don't have the skillset or tools required to get a shed kit & bulid it myself.10ft shipping container maybe?
Ooooh a container would be cool
I have the same Ryobi edger it's awesome.
This is the new model, I’ll have a full video on my Turf and Tools page shortly.
Brilliant
You have to have some fun God bless you 🙏❤️. I love you ❤️
Thanks for the support
He’s angry because you ate an extra piece of pizza 🍕 ‼️
😜
Always interesting to watch and learn even though I did this same thing for many years until t’étirèrent !! Intrigued by the different varieties of grass you have that are not available here in the U.K. !! 👍👍👍🇬🇧
Quite possibly the wealthiest lawn mower man in Australia lol. I dream to have all that gear and a storage shed , new truck or van etc.
My Ute is actually quite modest being a single cab compared to a lot of people. Most of the gear is on loan and I don’t own the storage shed 😂
@@timthelawnmowerman I know you have earned it and always do a good job. I just can’t imagine ever getting to that level in this industry. I’m still using second hand Honda push mower and running out of a 4WD after two years in business. Love to get a van or a similar Ute setup and some better gear but then I’d be in debt and paying it all off for years. I looked at storage sheds as that would enable me to get a trailer and keep it there, and it was over $500 a month. No good for me. And if it was parked in the street it would probably get stolen. I enjoy this work but it just seems hard to get to this level unless without getting into the social media side of things.
plenty of room in that storage shed for a 2 stroke Victa, just saying ;)
So we get to see Tim Everyday that he doesn't post a cut video!??!!? LOL Fine with me! It's nice seeing what AUS is like other than how bad the owners of really nice houses are with cutting their grass!
Glad you enjoy! I’ll have another one today!
With the storage unit, what is the deal with insurance for the contents? Like if there is a fire or anything?
I love to watch your videos. I'd like to know why you're putting your work station in the middle of the sidewalk instead of just putting it on the back wall.
It would look. To me like you would have more room
It won’t be in the middle I was standing in the wrong spot 😂
What lawn is it out the front ? Can’t get mine that green even with using a programme. Mine is couch tiftuf Bermuda
His place or mine?
@@timthelawnmowerman his. It showed a pic of it really green before he gave it a scalp
Different i'll give you that
Tim, did you just park your truck in the middle of the Store?🤣
It’s the drive through trade pick up area
That is cool! I've never seen that here in the states. All of our drive through's are outside at Home Depot/Lowe's.@@timthelawnmowerman
Tim,love your other videos the best! Not really a fan of the vlog. Please don't be offended. But I love your work!
No problem, it’s not for everyone. Nothing is changing with the main videos, still putting them out like I have been. This is just extra stuff
I have that edger and hate it. If you edged every week, maybe more often during the peak growing season, it would be good, but if you leave the grass more than a week it's next to useless, so I bought a stihl KM 94-RCE motor and the FBD-KM edger attachment and they will cut through the strongest and toughest of grasses with ease.
This is the new model. More power and other improvements.
I have the 18 volt. It’s average. Chews through the blades like crazy. While I have a fair few ryobi things I won’t buy the ryobi edger again. The whipper snipper is fine
Again, this is the newer model 18v. It’s got noticeably more power.
@@timthelawnmowerman mine has plenty of power but the cut isn’t as fine as I think it should be. My father in law has an electric one, can’t remember the brand name but it gives such a nice sharp cut
His is a bosclip just remembered. I found a lot of them don’t have a guide so it stops you from hitting the blade so much on the side of the concrete you are trimming against
❤❤❤
👍🏻
It's hilarious anyone thought it was real 😂
I saw that one, I'm glad to see it was play acting.
Wow nice video when I watch I thought that he was actually joking 😂 can you post videos in the real time please ❤❤❤❤❤❤
💚👍👍👍
Was just saying in one of your other vids that you don't get any agros at you, and then see this vid you have one...lol. Oh well it takes all kinds.
When you said the baby was lazy I was thinking you're going to get shot for sure. Then I realized it was your buddy. But people do get shot for that type of stuff around here.
That’s heavy 😟
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Is your storage spot on Annangrove road?
Maybe… 😂
@@timthelawnmowerman Thought the road looked familiar 😆
Mybe this man jalous ... Becose are you handsome and cute sir😍😆😜😂👍👍👍... Mybe true😎💪💪
Faltan los subtitulos en español,para entenderte mejor🙏😄
I’m sorry, I don’t know why
i thought that angry man was real
I have an idea for you, team up with an American Lawnmower man, and go over an mow an American lawn, then they come over here an mow an Aussie lawn. Which is harder?
There is no question ours are way thicker. Most of the stuff I see overseas is high but whispy. I’m planning to go over soon 👍
Aussie lawn def more difficult, you are mowing a lawn upside down. LOL. Flat earth forever.
@@timthelawnmowerman True about thickness, the only thing I can think of though is that when it is overgrown, our grass spreads, but not the dirt/roots underneath, where as you watch some of these American lawns and it is like the entire eco-system spreads
Chia hua huas are the best
Do you encounter kangaroos when mowing lawns 🦘
Can’t say I have! 😊
Better make room in the garage for the wife. If momma ain’t happy….
Hilarious that some folks fell for the angry neighbour video. Just shows how many gullible people watch YT. “Either lazy or a shift worker” still makes me laugh. Impressed by your organized garage. We can’t leave our battery chargers and batteries in the garage here. Expecting -27C later this week. Plays hell with the lawn, too. Thanks for the vlog posts.
So the whiner was staged! I should have known, it was weird. Im gullible! Ok tell me anything!
I mean yeah staged but not to pull the wool over your eyes, we were making fun of other similar videos
@@timthelawnmowerman Its ok now its funny! Lol. It seemed odd and i should have caught on but im very gullible.
YOUR ACTING NEEDS SOME WORK, KEEP YOUR DAY JOB.!!! LOL.!!!
If all your videos from now on are going to be Vlogs, I'll be unsubscribing. Sorry, mate..
They aren’t. Everything is as usual with my weekly videos. This is just extra stuff. You can’t really complain about extra stuff you don’t have to watch?
Oh man, I didn't realize that was him in the skit, as a V-8 vegetable drink commercial does, a slap to the forehead.
