  • Get ready for a wild ride as I recount my epic adventure of taking on an overgrown lawn for free and suffering a minor chainsaw injury to my first finger and pinky. But don't worry, I soldiered on and thanks to a trusty bandaid, I survived to tell the tale!
    After seeking recommendations on the next-door app, I stumbled upon a single mom of three who stole my heart. Determined to help her out, I geared up and headed over to her house to show off my unmatched lawn-mowing skills.
    But that's not all - I also promised some top-secret Mow It Wells sauce to sweeten the deal. Unfortunately, things took an unexpected turn and I had to shell out $490 for a push mower to tackle her backyard, leaving me unable to deliver on my sauce promise. Tune in to find out how this story ends!

She stood there looking stupid and not speaking up praising him for cutting her yard free and having to go out and buy a mower just to get to her grown back yard. Hey buddy, Hope your hand is going to be okay and 🐰 Easter 🐇🐇🐣🐣 , just My opinion, but the lady mentioned that someone quoted her a $100 price to do that lawn, considering the AWESOME WORK, you did on the Yard, and as BIG and it would actually cost MORE than they told her , considering, how big and EXTRA cutting work you need to do, , NOT being Rude , but she needs to consider time is money 💵 also the ⛽ fuel and upkeep of ALL of the equipment the person uses , I'm sure she doesn't think of Lawncare as a Real business though, since she said that, but , actually $100 is pretty reasonable charge for that Yard, doesn't matter how high the grass is, CYA NEXT TIME 🚜😎

    • @MowItWells
      @MowItWells  Год назад +7

      For just a mow trim blow that’s a .75 man hour yard. Maybe a little less. I would say it’s a $60-$70 yard.
      For what I did definitely more than $100. She was referring to just a every other week mow.

    As a retired mechanic I understand that sometimes the extra effort goes unnoticed. I would write in my story that I checked fluids, filters, tire pressure, reset tire monitoring and checked operation, checked for fault codes, checked belts, all for free since I was not getting paid to do this. When the customer went to pickup their vehicle I would ask them it the Service Advisor told them what all was checked, NO. I asked if it was listed on the repair order, NO. I asked to see their repair order and there it was written in plain sight. Sometimes "doing the right thing" goes unnoticed. It still is the right thing to do. Great Job.

    I’m addicted to lawn care videos. This one was for the ages. MowItWells busted his carcass spiffifying the property, front and back, and injured his finger in the process. A fantastic job, that’s what it was. That single mother didn’t even offer him some water to drink. She was thankful enough, but it sounded like she had to put a lot of effort into it. Make sure you take some bottled water with you because you don’t want to get heat stroke and faint, and get that finger looked at. It might get infected. And bring extra gasoline with you, now that you have a brand-new push mower for the small spaces. And pace yourself. Summertime in the South, it gets hot and humid. Take care. Looking forward to your other videos.

    I know a lot of lawn care companies are using larger mowers to be efficient with time. I have seen they don't or refuse to have a smaller mower. Personally I have thought that to be unprofessional. You would think of all people, they would be the ones to be prepared for the job. Not everyone has large gates for their backyards. It was an unexpected expense for you, but also a lesson learned. Now you are a better worker!! Congratulations! And THANK YOU!! for what you do.

    I grew up in the 80's. Single parent mom with 2 kids on welfare. Lived in a shack of a house with a decent sized yard. Of course, couldn't afford lawn care. My mom scraped up 25 dollars and bought a raggedy mower and cutting shears. I was seven or eight years old. It was my job to cut the grass from then on. I understand if the kids are not able due to health. Make sure the people you gift to really deserves the kindness.

    This yard did need a bit of renewal but I liked that you kept your eyes out and noticed things that the mom hadn't been able to keep up with, like the fence trimming, and did those. With a family with single-parent kids, you did several good things. They now have experienced someone helping out of kindness, doing a good job and the look of having their home in good repair. Nice extra of clearing the drainage area. It must have been important because someone spent the time and money to build it. The mowing and edging in front really made that place look nice. You actually went and bought a push mower? Wow. It will be useful for small-gate areas. I've noted that is not something people necessarily think of when building fencing and some mowers have increased in size over the years. (You keep talking of the heat and we just finished a round with more snow.) Kevin Hansen has talked about learning to absolutely not give up when you have a goal. That is what you did today. So, it wasn't a bad day, you made it a VERY GOOD DAY.

Those that has no way to do this anymore either disable or elderly or even single parents. Truely appreciates the help that they cannot do. That being said I wish the city and counties would step-up to the plate and not fined people because they can't afford to hire people to do their lawns or whatever the case may be. Instead, they should provide them with people to do this for them for free... As you are doing for them... You have a kind heart and kind soul I wish more people would be like you! Super job and your compassion to help folks that just get run over in life trying to do the best they can. Life does gets busy and what you do is a incredible gift to help get them over that hump ,and we all hope energize them. What I see is the Lawn Care community really does give more then there fair share of gifting to the community. But often I see folks have a fence damaged for what ever reason and wondering where are the Fencing guys to come help that little bit ! Its all there the fence just needs a little help it may just needs a post and a stretching. Why are not these fencing profession out helping these folks at all ? I don't see one fence guy giving here like the Lawn care guys do.. I wonder if maybe you find a fencer that will collaborate with you and really help folks get back on track and up on their feet. It would help change there whole yard for the future.. Would love to hear what others think about this.

    When i see your videos i just hit like button first then i watch them because i know a few things beforehand ..
    #1 Your gonna go above and beyond in whatever you do !!!!
    #2 You love what you do (just from listening to your knowledge of diff things and how excited you got when you did the side drain
    #3 You more than likely will always put a little Mow it wells sauce at the end ..
    You're a good dude , it's not a lot of people who would take the time of their day to do it for others so selflessly ...

    i think she appreciated it i just think how she shows excitement may be different from others or maybe shes not used to strangers doing things for her for free ... either way i understand the comments i just think people need to realize not everyone is alike or show appreciation the same but like my mom always have told me "YOU GET YOUR TRUE THANKS FROM GOD ".. when you do kind things for others ♥
