I don't know why the home owner wasn't able to clean up the property but all that complaining about the violations....they deserved a notice. There was no effort on their part. You did a fantastic job 👍.
IMO, the City is not trying to bankrupt her; instead, they're trying to make her abide by the regulations.

I can not believe she wanted this done for free. I can't even imagine what the cost would be. I don't know. That was asking a lot - you were fantastic, even with an eye injury.

Absolutely beautiful!! I was thinking....I remember when neighbors checked on neighbors and helped each other. We took care of a neighbors place after he died and his son was still in the service for a whole summer....it was a country home so it took time to water and mow. Just a little love and time goes a lot further than calling the city to complain.

Uh...was she complaining about the neighbors and A Tree?😮.....The property looked like a wildlife preserve. Most people who can't manage their lawn accepts the fact that it looks awful. Well she sounds like she will maintain it and who knows why or what went wrong in her life to allow everything to overgrow like that. But for sure there must have been a reason. This I pray will be like a new start for her and yes it did turn out absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I also send her prayers as well. It is not our job to criticize or question how her property was let go so long but GOD did send a very special Angel "Mow It Wells" and I thank God for him as well. Be blessed.

Nobody needs to walk a mile in her shoes.. just pull up to the house to know her life was dealt a blow or two. There was NO judgment there. I was taken aback by her lack of ownership of the currant state of her property regardless of it. Ive watched countless yard transformations and every owner was either embarrassed and/or confessed how crappie their yard looked. This woman blamed the neighbors for calling the city about one tree!? Don't know her state of mind but yes she needs prayer.

yes, it's sad that the neighbor would rather make life harder for homeowners like this than help out. Our society's fetish for rugged individualism and allergy to mutual aid are manifestations of the less than stellar side of human nature. Good Samaritans like these guys, on the other hand, set us an example of our better nature. They know who their neighbor is.
You know, Alex, I was going to write, 'You really had you work cut out for you' on this property, but that would be so wrong: You were the one who had to do the cutting in otder to carve out a yard from what looked like years of neglect. And that backyard - a virtual jungle!! What a job!! Absolutely, totally amazing transformation: In true Alex style, you stuck with it until the property looked manicured. Well done, sir!

I’m sure the neighbors were extremely great full. The owner had to be very pleased to have her home the jewel of the neighborhood. The bit of beautification at the front was the sauce on top. I had more people stop and talk to me on this one then any other one. Everyone was glad to see it get cleaned up and amazed at how much better it looked.
Well dome mate. Helping someone in need is commendable. Unfortunately, some people are lazy. They can go shopping but can't cut the grass or trim some plants. I suspect one year later the garden will be overgrown again.

Some of the owners are ' fatso' lazy and ignorant. They like free things, I don't blame the city fine them and confiscate their properties.
The neighbors had every right to complain and all cities fine for overgrown yards. Sometimes people fall on hard times, have health issues or are just plain lazy. I love that he tackles every job the same way. I admire his dedication and work ethic and regardless of this person’s circumstance, he’s changed her life for the better. Beautiful job!

It was absolutely astonishing the amount of brush, trees and overgrown that covered that house, yes I said covered, because it was completely enshrouded in it. Bless you for doing this makeover, most people would have ran away from that mess. You really worked magic to transform that entire property. On a side note I truly hope she keeps up with it, because you and the world knows it didn’t get that bad over night, probability the neighbors kept calling the city out of concern for their neighbor and property values
Its hard on a small fixed income (disability, no kids, doesnt pay much) and people are usually no longer dependable to show up and get paid to mow, believe me. Sometimes I wonder though if the city wants the fees or the house or what. When I went to court on mine awhile ago, what they were going to charge me if they cut it was 3xs more than the average joe. I still didn't get any "joe's" to show up in time so, I had to really call in a friend to get them off my back. I stopped renting there. It was what I could afford and should've been condemned. Catch 22, if it hadn't been that bad I couldn't afford it but also, the landlords aren't held accountable. Gods blessed me though.

I couldn’t agree more. Even I, living in a rental condo, brought out a nice table and table cloth, put a few glasses on the top and a nice insulated container of lemonade and another with water. Both had plenty of ice in them. I even bought out small sandwiches for the guys who were painting the buildings. They really loved it and I made a lot of good friends.

It often does help to start at the street, if a place has fallen behind. It starts giving passers by a feeling of order and neatness right off. 3:47, that redone edge already is making a difference. Although the front walk tiles are deteriorating, I like your move to re-establish a neat way of seeing and accessing the house. You are doing a great job. The home is reappearing rapidly. You are preventing a lot of foundation and house damage by removing the seedling trees and vines. That is such an astounding change by 14:22. At 26:08 it shows just how much space you are regaining in the back. You won an Archeology award, for finding and recovering a lost (patio) area. I could wonder if that was once even a small garage or shed, with a rock foundation. At 35:36, we have another spectacular view. The overgrowth is down to mowing in the back. I'll bet that turtle is wondering what happened to his habitat. The mulching in front was a really good move. That woman and her home have dignity again. Thank you very much for being in the right place at the right time. If that was some of your crew helping pick up all the limbs in the background at one point, please tell them thank you for helping out.

Wow, that was an epic cleanup with all the cutting of trees, shrubs, seedlings, etc. What a discovery of the end of the driveway on the built-up rock pad and her deck. Who knew she had a deck. Now sunlight can get to her grass. You can see her house now. Hopefully, she will have her walkway fixed with the missing tiles, cause you can really see them now. Nice mulching and planting of that shrub at the end. You rock Man!!

I laughed so hard - they're trying to bankrupther! Don't understand why she complained cause this is YEARS of neglect! No wonder the neighbors kept complaining! Her yard was badly overgrown and in desperate need of maintenance. She should just keep her yard clean then the neighbors can't say nothing. She is capable to do it herself, she has money - works and owns a business. Why not just hire a person permanently to maintain the yard if she doesn't have time herself. There are so many people that really need help cause they don't have the money or capability themselves to do it. Nice job.

Ma'am this is to you. It's not about what others do but what you do in your own life. You should have love for your family and friends, by how you live in all ways. We all go through many struggles in life but the inside and outside of our homes reflect our enter self. Make yours beautiful one day at a time. Don't hunt up other people to point fingers at. They are struggling as well. Oh by the way my husband is disabled and I have to work with a very bad leg. He is 75. I'm 68. We are very happy because we live to make others happy.
