I’m actually tempted to get 2 of these... They’d pair really well with both Circuit & Blackbox - and with the additional FX programs that are coming though already you get 2 killer voices and a fairly large bank of fx to play with for 200 quid!
Sooo hyped on this little synth right now! 😁 How do you guys feel about this synth? I hope you guys are just as excited about it as I am... More videos and jams with the NTS-1 real soon. Stay tuned. 👍
Immensely hyped, have been since announcent @ NAMM '19. 6 more weeks, the agony is real. I just bought a GO:Piano and this would be perfect for making (Electric) Piano based ambient music. And my Volca Bass would sound even better with a little reverb.
I have watched tons of videos of people using small synths (especially volcas) and i must say that You are one very talented man, i'm speaking also about your channel, respect brother ! Keep up , you are making very good videos.
At the very least it is a cheap great sound effects pedal. But even the synth sounds are pretty cool! Thanks for sharing all these different configurations and nice tracks.
It looks like they packed a lot into this thing for 100 bucks, but being how it's digital, you'd think they could have gave it 3 voices or 2 or 3 oscillators. For those that make jam videos with Volcas and other mini synths, it's probably welcomed to use as an fx processor, for it's arp, and to get other sounds with the variable oscillators. It appears you could do pulse width modulation on square or other oscillators and/or wave shaping and control that with an LFO as it has 3 LFOs. That's pretty cool. I'm not opposed to picking one up for my birthday present to myself next month.
Sure! I dont see why not! 🙂 Most looper pedals will pretty much allow any audio signal to be fed into them. Some pedals can even sync to the tempo from a MIDI clock source. 👍
Pretty damn kewl. I was thinking of getting one just to jam on the bus and train with. I wish they made a little bit of a bigger version with an envelope and filter though. Now that would make me have to change my shorts! Freaking bad ass jams as usual! BOOM!
Great Demo! One OT question..how do you power your volcas? I tried different daisychain sollutions (including the volxa mix) but the noise becomes unbearable. Stuck to batteries or dedicated 9V but its unpractical..
Thank you! 🙂 I primarily use batteries, but I will sometimes use a combination of individual power supplies and batteries. I also use the Volca Mix sometimes as well. I personally havent experienced such noise... or maybe I just got used to it? 🤔 hahah Not sure. Did you eliminate other possibilities? Eg. Cables, mixer, power strip.
Leave it to Korg to bless us with another powerful little synth box. Only gripe tho... Those cheap pricks couldn't throw in the 3.5mm to Midi chord for free?
@@zorbanongreco i believe 3.5mm Trs to midi Type A. Same 01 for 0 coast. Hop on Sweetwater its like 5 smacks for one. Everywhere else i saw be upcharging asf 🍻!!

Nice video btw. I am thinking of getting an NTS-1 (I already have an SQ-1) I have two questions regarding the use of the SQ-1 and NTS-1 together. 1/NTS1--> SQ-1 --> other gear? Will the sync out of the NTS-1 control the BPM of the SQ-1 (via sync in) and also allow the SQ-1 to control other gear through the SQ-1 midi out? 2/ If the SQ-1 midi out controls the NTS-1, will the NTS-1 show the BPM of the SQ-1? I have tried using my computer to control the SQ-1 through USB midi in but then I can't use the SQ-1 to control anything by midi out, unfortunately I don't own any CV in gear to control and am just stuck with nowhere to go!
Just use the sync OUT of the NTS-1 to the sync IN of the PO (set to sync mode 2/ SY2). This is the same with the SQ-1. You can use either the Volca or SQ-1 as the master and the PO as the slave. You can use a PO as the master, but this becomes a bit more technical. So for simplicity, always keep PO's at the end of the chain. Check out my in-depth video of the PO sync modes if you are interested. 👍 ruclips.net/video/gOSu191-6PU/видео.html
Totally! There are quite a bit of high quality FX in this thing: Chorus, flanger, tape delay, huge reverbs... plus you get a synth voice with several oscillator types? It's a deal for sure. 😉👍 lol
I got mine yesterday and totally love it .I don’t know why there is the hate for it ? £100? Come on ! It’s a bargain. I’ve been using it as the aux/send effect on my Volca mix as it adds another instrument to boot too😀
Hahahaha 🤣 Either this synth is capabale of faithfully emulating human fart sounds... or you have really musical flatulence. 😁 lol Thanks for watching. 🙂👍
It is 100% possible. I personally love reverb and delay, but you can certainly leave it out and still make pleasant sounds. 👍 Its like cooking... you don't neccessarily always need salt and pepper... but they can certainly add some extra flavor to your food. 😉 lol Hope you enjoyed the video. Thanks.
@@littleBIGsynths Yeah I like reverb and delay too... but kind of worried that people will get tired of it. I guess synths always need some kind of effect that puts them in a space though.
I've had a Korg Monotron and a Pocket Operator 28. I just can't seem to groove with small, limited functionality units like these. Just my opinion of course. The smallest I use is the Roland Sh-01a, anything less gets boring fast. Can't wait for my Nanoloop Hardware to show up though! Though I will say the reverb sounds nice on it.
Yeah, it's not for everyone. That's for sure. But I think that a Monotron isn't really the best device to base your opinion on. In my opinion, Monotrons are fun, but not very useful for making much music/ jamming. I feel that something like the NTS-1 or a Korg Volca, offer more of a musical experience and are much more "practical" for actual music making/jamming. Plus, the NTS-1 is definitely far superior than the monotrons in a lot of ways, while still keeping a tiny form factor and "diy" feel. But again, to each his own. Whatever works for you, man. 🙂👍 Thanks, for watching.
I have watched a lot of videos about this synth (mine is going to be delivered this afternoon) and you create some of the most exciting arps and tones of any I’ve heard (especially 6:30-7:30ish). Great work and thanks for the demo!

So awesome Bro!Question I just got one of these and I noticed when I hit the highest note on the ribbon keyboard after I let the note go it jumps to the lowest octave. Any Idea on how to fix that? I notice on other notes when I hit a note and let go it will jump to the next half step below the original note.
I dont know exactly. 🤔 I think the owners manual said it requires a power supply of 550 mA or more. I have actually powered it up using my phone a couple of times now... no problem. 👍 Thanks for watching. 🙂
I wanted to get one late last year around November when I first start seeing videos of them on RUclips. But I went to my local Guitar Center and they said that they weren't in yet. And I guess they're out now? But it's.. damn! I had the money back then, now I got to save up.. shit! At least they shouldn't be too expensive?😅
No. This is using the midi trs-A standard. Some brands have been uding using midi trs-B. The industry has recently agreed to dithch the trs-B standard from now on, but there are still new devices being sold that was built with the B type. Adapters should be avaliable for both types. The difference is that the White and the red leads are swapped in the stereo cable, so it is super-easy to solder together your own adapter cable, or you can get it to work by using two eight-inch to RCA cables, and a pair of RCA female-female adapters and connecting White to red and vice versa.
