Hi Larry A trick or 2 for keeping a ladder from kicking out when using it. 1. You can use a heavy bock to put at the bottom of the ladder after the desired angle of the ladder is achieved. 3 if you are using the ladder on the side of the trailer you can use the rope trick around the wheel, using the wheel as a anchor point while the wheel is attached to the trailer. Plus you could use a spare wheel and tyre to use as a heavy weight to stop the ladder from kicking out by placing the spare wheel up against the ladder feet or as a anchor with rope attached to fastened to the lower run of the ladder and push it away from the ladder to produce a angled tie point with the rope and tyre on the under side of the ladder that is facing the trailer, similar to tieing the ladder to the safety bar at the back of the trailer the bar that is to reduce the risk of a car going under the back of the trailer. 4. You could see if your boss will buy those ladders that are used in warehouses that are made like a staircase that are on spring loaded retractable casters on the step side of the mobile staircase.
