Everyone who has at least once attempted to gather a soul from each of the 120 different enemies in Aria of Sorrow, especially during a speedrun, knows the frustration it incurs after a hundredth failed attempt to get the required drop. That just makes this all-souls TAS, played on hard mode, even more impressive.
Contrary to the previous publication (tasvideos.org/1759M.html), which used no glitch warps (either by death or by getting out-of-bounds using transform souls), this run makes extensive use of them, knocking off 6 minutes and 10.84 seconds of it. However, the previous publication (tasvideos.org/1759M.html) is still worth a watch, as it demonstrates how such a run would look like if no glitch warps were used.

The game says he visits the chaotic realm for the first time at almost sixteen minutes in, but I think we all know the entire TAS happens in that place.
As one of the most prominent speedrunners of this game, I honestly did not think i couldn't be amazed anymore of TAS:es or other vids of this game, but this blew my mind once more! Good job!
I didn't know Soma could use the Wallmaster glyph.
Walls are but a suggestion for one as powerful as Soma

I don't know what it's called but Aria of sorrow was programmed in the strange way that some spots out side of the wall will teleport you to certain locations in the castle. And there are two ways to do it is to get HP to zero by cheat or just like the video, at the same time get the first soul to stop the frame and then pause the game right away to save the condition ( you have to use a save spot first ), or use the transforming soul, with bat soul you can do the corner wall glitch and with the other transforming soul like beast or devil in certain spots with the 2 platforms which are parallel with each other and also the height must be lower than the form of the skill,and a wall next to it, stands still while soma's back against the wall, transforms and it will knock your character back to the wall and cancel the transformation, the wall will elevates your character upward ( you could try it in the chapel of the castle ), giant bat can also lift you up while you're inside of the wall if you cancel the bat form, just like the video :)
Also, if your HP reached 0, the game will understand that you're already dead , but you can still move by saving the game before it, which i think death character can't do anything in the way that the game reads which will not change the map even if you've walked through it, and lead to outside of the wall glitch and as i have just explained, it will teleport you, or you know, crash the game. Rotten meat is suppose to be decrease the HP if being used, and the limitation of it is 1 HP, so goes by those thing has 0 HP there is nothing left to decrease, so it will turn to the limit, but if anyone explains that there is a flag called zombie stage, so it would be easier to understand that's why the rotten meat will give you HP :)
Gia Huy Trần Oh... so that's it. I already knew about the teleporting by leaving a room by the wrong way, but I didn't know you could teleport by dying. Seriously, TAS(es) are teaching me lots of stuff :P
The 0 HP method is quite difficult to use, since there are also platforms that are hidden away behind the walls, so for normal player it's only possible to go to the underground with this glitch by jump down to that place of the starting map and count about 1.5 > 2 second and then heal yourself will have you land in the right place, if you did it too soon, it will change to the normal starting map that below it, and a bit too soon before 2 second will have you stuck on the hole which will lead you to the map above of the video instead of the trail below it lol, and if you did it way too slow, your game will crash :)
Oh and i pretty much apologize for the rotten meat, it seems like he used the potion too fast that we barely see it :)

It would be awesome if you were able to do the glitch at 17:24 and 17:46 in a new game+ speed run, it's probably a frame perfect thing though.
I assume they didn't find a glitch to skip the Graham's fight to skip his room and pick the Black Panther soul, if there is one it could save some time.

Danish Iskandar All speedruns of Aria of Sorrow manipulate RNG, meaning everything drops more commonly. It’s cheating in a way, that no one can say “No” to.

How does luck manipulation even work? Data, as far as I know, in terms of which enemies drop what, or in other games, what rooms spawn (disgaea), are determined by your current frame. Skipping a frame will yield a different result. But if you always go back to the same frame and try it over and over and over again, you will always get the same results. So how do you collect souls perfectly in this tas without needing to wait for the proper frame?
Basically it involves manipulating the RNG (random number generator) by doing different actions. There's a page on the TASVideos Game Resources tab that covers how Luck Manipulation works on Aria of Sorrow, among other games. But things like attacking, using certain souls, etc. will change the RNG that determines whether a soul will drop or not.

No, Alastor is just a being from the ancient greeks, and in Castlevania, they're enemies who usualy show up in Metroidvanias since SotN.
