These sloppy joes are so perfect. As a grandma on Social Security I really appreciate the way that your ingredients are simple and usually easy to find thank you
Just made the fried rice. It was yummy and so darn easy. Thank you thank you thank you. All I did was add the sesame oil and garlic powder and that was it.😊
That's a great deal on the Nasoya tofu for the fried rice!! Our local Kroger has Simple Truth brand organic (silken, firm, extra-firm) on sale - 3 14oz cartons for $5 through June 9. In case anyone is ok with that brand.
I looked on the Costco site for the Ramen noodles and didn’t see them. I don’t think I’ve seen them in the store either. So off to Amazon I go. Love the recipes!
@@plantwhys I even went to the Costco app. I did find an Amazon listing for Lotus 48 pack of the 2.8 oz package. I think it was $69 for a one time purchase and 65 for recurring if you have 5 or more items shipped at the same time. The $69 came to $1.44 per 2.8 oz package. It was the millet/brown rice. Also have Forbidden Rice for the pretty much the same price.
Wholefoods, Walmart and Costco sells them in the store but not online. There are quite a few other vegan ones available also but these definitely aren't as healthy. The Top Ramen brand has two vegan flavors, the soy sauce and the chili one. Nong Shim has a couple different ones and there are some vegan chicken ones from another brand that Walmart and Amazon sell also. Just to name a few. Those are definitely junk food though.
@@plantwhys I just found your channel and I just wanted to tell you thank you so much for your recipes and inspiring videos. My family and I have decided to go plant based 2 years ago, and I love the videos I’m seeing on your channel because your recipes are very simple to make for a busy mom. I have 4 children and I try to make everything by scratch food wise, and I can already tell by just watching a few of your videos that you have given me so many easy meals that we can make quickly when we don’t have much time. I really can not thank you enough, I have been looking for content like this for a long time, and I’m truly thankful I have finally found a channel that is all about easy vegan meals that I know my family is going to love 💗
Hi Ali, I made the Sloppy Joe Lentils today for the 1st time. I love it! We served it over instant pot steam potatoes and I had some on slice of sour bread too. This recipe is a keeper. I’ll be adding it into my recipe book & rotation meals. As always thank you!
Just made these yesterday. I used Traders Joes refrigerated lentils and deleted the broth. It was good yesterday and even better today. For 2 people 60 yrs old it was 8 servings. Love your channel.
I am so thrilled I stumbled upon your channel! The lentil sloppy joes were on point and amazing and oh my goodness, that Tofu scramble rice was literally to die for, best rice I ever had and my family love it and didn't even miss the eggs!! The only thing I changed is using black salt (kala namak) which has that sulfer Eggy flavor. Thanks again!! ❤️
Hi Ali, omg I’m so excited 🤗 I made the ramen hack seasoning and tried for the first time today. My ramen came out well just like ramen 🙌my soup was delicious! I added edamame, mushrooms, peas, broccoli. Ty as always! I’ll be using this hack going forward for sure!
Thanks for the videos!! I'm kinda binge watching them:) Can you do an update on how the plant based diet has affected your husbands health? How is he doing now? Also your health!
These look great! I'm new to vegan cooking and wonder if anyone has a suggestion for a replacement for nutritional yeast? Is there another spice or spice blend which gives the same cheesy flavour? I can't eat Nutritional Yeast. Thanks.
Many ramen noodles do not contain animal ingredients. Although palm oil per se is vegan, some vegans may contest that it’s production encroaches on orangutan habitat.
A lot of ramen recipes contain beef of chicken broth and sometimes even some actual chicken or beef. So it is not true that ramen is often cruelty free.
@@franciscachesca I have come across many with “artificial chicken flavour” or “artificial beef flavour” in the ingredients list. I know vegans that only have an issue with the palm oil because of its environmental impact on animal habitats. If you’re ok with palm oil and artificial animal flavour then those instant noodles are vegan. You simply have to verify by reading the ingredients list carefully.
Most Worcestershire sauces have anchovy pastel or fish sauce so not Vegan. I would use liquid amino for the same great umami taste plus it has the added benefit of nutrition.
Yummy 😋 ramen noodles recipe Ali and just discovered your channel despite being vegan for 7 years and I have been busy making videos for my channel because there can't be too much vegan content on RUclips. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 Ali and family.
Both times I've tried to make the lentil sloppy joes my instant pot says BURN FOOD and I end up standing over the stove for 30 minutes. Then I get slightly crunchy lentils 😬. Any tips?
There's no need to buy non-vegan ramen and then throw away the packets. There are quite a few vegan ones available. The Top Ramen brand has two vegan flavors, the soy sauce and the chili one. Nong Shim has a couple different ones and there are some vegan chciken ones from another brand that Walmart and Amazon sell also. Just to name a few.
@@alexyssaubrie1606 That was just a BS excuse if I've ever heard one. You can be any kind of vegan you want. The less suffering you cause the better. Let's be honest here, you didn't have the willpower to continue, then instead of owning your poor choice you decide to put the blame on militant vegans so that you don't have to take any responsibility at all for YOUR actions and Your choice. That wasn't very nice Alex.

Agreed
Vegan fried rice is awesome. I love putting Thai basil in mine
Such a great tip!!! That sounds so yummy!!
Worcestershire sauce isn’t vegan so make sure to get one that doesn’t have anchovies . Definitely gonna try the sloppy Joe’s!
I've been a vegan for many, many years but I'm always looking for different recipes, especially easy ones. I am definitely going to make these!!

How have I not found you until now. Love your food videos, thank you so much! Been wanting to try out sloppy joe and fried rice for ages.
I’ve made the ramen noodles AND your fried rice this week! Both were excellent! Next week your sloppy joes. Thank you for your recipes!

You bet!

Thank you so much! Love your recipes!❤

I wonder if they don't sell them at every Costco.... Thank goodness for Amazon.

Check those bread bin ingredients, they probably contain milk.

I have found those 30cent ramen packets that are chili and soy sauce flavored, they are vegan and common in most grocery stores.
Gosh, i use those a lot! I actually like them! 😊@La_TangoMariaa
Besides black pepper, you also need fat (even a small source of it) for your body to benefit from the turmeric.

There is vegan Worcestershire
Wegmans sells it or on line
Delicious ❤
i dont have an instant pot, can i use a crockpot?
Yum delicious recipes how long can the sloppy joes be frozen ?
I tried getting your free meal guides, including Faith's, but never got the emails

Isn't worcestershire sauce not vegan? I thought it was made with anchovies, or something?
I know the Dollar Tree where I live carries a vegan one from Club Supreme.
Yeah there are plenty of vegan ones. Just be sure to get that.
Yep. But it is easy to buy a vegan version.
❤ from India first shot
Where do you get vegan brown sugar? Most brown sugar is not.
YUM
Both times I've tried to make the lentil sloppy joes my instant pot says BURN FOOD and I end up standing over the stove for 30 minutes. Then I get slightly crunchy lentils 😬. Any tips?
I think I heard someone say once to add more liquid when that happens and stir it. Then restart it.

Don’t you need healthy fats (nuts, seeds, avocado, etc) to absorb the fat soluble nutrients?
Yes. Tofu has fat, the noodles have some fat and the rolls have fat in them! You could always add Avocado to any of those meals if you would like.
The only thing missing from the sloppy Joe plate was a crisp dill pickle spear. 😂❤
TUR-meric. There is an “r”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!!!!
Vegetable broth is cheating imo. Its so expensive
Not if you buy a huge jar at Costco like the one she used here. Aldi also has cheap-ish organic ones.
I don't like the "let's make instant ramen vegan" by throwing away the packet. If the packet has animal products, then it's still unethical. :(
Right! You don't want to buy it!
This is why I stopped being vegan. It’s so militant that it feels impossible to live.
