Hi, I have the same laptop and last summer, I removed the heatsink, cleaned the fan, applied some old Coolermaster thermal paste I had (which I read from here and there that it's not very good, I must buy a Arctic Silver 5) and put everything again in place. After this procedure, the temperatures dropped considerably. However, it's been a couple of months that I notice CPU throttling while compiling, so I suppose I must do the procedure again. However, I'm thinking of buying a new thermal pad for the GPU, along with a new paste. Do you recommend any specific thermal pads? How thick should it be? From a few ebay items, I read that it must be 1mm thick for this specific laptop, but I don't know. I'm considering buying a large piece and cutting a piece exactly at the size of the GPU chip, but I don't know the thickness of the pad. Do you have any recommendations?
    Thanks.

Hello there. 3 years too late. Sometimes, ProBooks from the 6500 series have a physical GPU rather than the cpu's integrated one. Hence, it's very likely yours has one of them and it died or "un-welded".
